Talk about NBA Live 08 here.

It does. When you double-click a player's name to open up his attributes, there's a dropdown menu for skin colour under the Face & Body section.
Tue Aug 07, 2012 1:23 pm
if that "black or white option" is for the body color. well maybe those 3 digit number face id tells what color of head. that's why when i choose white and check that created player at the game, the face color is sometimes not compatible with the players body.. due to the FACE ID.. HOW do we know if it is white head? when it is 100 t0 300..then black is 301 to 500..

Oh, you're talking about a created player. Normally, the skin tone value would load the skin texture that matches the skin colour of the face texture.

I did that, but the second box directly beneath has a drop down list that doesn't include Barclays Center..

If you type Barclays Center in the "Rename St." and "Stadium Text" fields and then click Apply, the text in the dropdown menu will change to Barclays Center.

Thanks, man! But can you also PM me a copy of the portraits file I asked u about that includes all the portraits in it?
Thu Aug 09, 2012 2:12 am
Portraits are already available in the download section. In separate releases or in mods.
Thu Aug 09, 2012 5:21 am
I mean the main viv file that is ALL INCLUSIVE. So I can basically start fresh.
Thu Aug 09, 2012 5:50 am
There is no viv file with all updated portraits in it.If you want that then download whatever portraits you want and import them into the viv file.

In the FSH subfolder? Will that one have enough portraits in it to run it with TUP 12?

What is this "FSH subfolder" you are talking about?
Sat Aug 11, 2012 2:15 am
The default portraits file, the one that's installed off the disc when you install the game, is a .viv file that is located in the fe folder. Portrait updates can also be distributed as .big files, which are just placed in the sgsm folder. Anything that's placed in the sgsm folder - eg .fsh, .big and .ebo files - will be loaded instead of the data in the various .viv files.

If the viv file is in sgsm too, will it cause a problem? Am I right that "either viv file OR sgsm big"?
Also, so if the big files in sgsm are up to date, then the viv file doesn't mean much?

If the .viv file is in the sgsm folder, it won't do anything. It's just taking up hard drive space if it's duplicated there.
Again, normally the game loads data from the .viv files, but it will load loose files that are placed in the sgsm folder. Whatever it can't find in sgsm, it will load from the .viv files as normal.

I have make change on codding player's portraits routines based Windows 7 environment, may will solve problem for Windows 7 user, and I try it on XP still OK so it can use on both XP and Seven, I hope

Thanks for this good program, but one error - when you edit 05 rosters and save it, they don't work good, coz at the end adds hotspots and other from '08 .. (in players.dbf)

Are you editing the NLSC roster updates for NBA Live 2005 by any chance? If so, the Hot Spots fields are there because they're originally converted from the NBA Live 08 current update.

I don't know from where this. Coz we use those rosters for 1 year, but others used it for 2years minimum. But this isn't problem...
Problem is: before editing, i can open them with MS exel, but later i can't. And I need upload them to website (appearance.dbf, players.dbf, teams.dbf) but site just gives errors.. Like MS Exel.

I tried copy them to other players dbf with db commander, but then people save stats, but they don't save as normal. Some errors too..
