No PC Version

Sun Jun 10, 2012 8:47 am

The official site has now been updated and is also only listing the PS3 and Xbox 360 as the official platforms for the game. Coupled with the press site only saying PS360, I think the PC version is as confirmed as not coming out as possible without someone actually saying no.

Well it now followed Madden's path as console only... bummer...

you're right, except for Live 09, 10, and Elite...

I pretty much didn't expect any different. This means that my interest from now on is only on how 2K does with 2K13.

This was to be expected, but it's disappointing all the same. I guess it's either 2K13 or sticking with 2K11 for me this year.

Well too bad if they won't release it on PC,but still I am hoping they will change their mind. And they can change their mind just like it was the case with FIFA 11 on PC.Somewhere in June they announced the game just on consoles, but somewhere in July they announced it also on PC.Only thing is the game wasn't the same like on consoles(It looked mostly like FIFA 10 with less modes...)

highly doubt that, being that they havent changed their mind about bring madden back to pc, so very unlikely they will change their mind and bring nba live13 to pc... EA just doesn't want to lose money to piracy, even though console piracy is out, its just a bit easier on pc, and EA knows that

I think FIFA was a test to see how much copies will they sell and even though I even have pirated version I would definitely support them and buy next fifa but I'm not a rich man and until I found a job I will continue to do that. And one more reason for them, why should they risk to release pc version for nba live is that basketball is international sport and american football is simply american and they probably most look how much copies did they sell in U.S. when we talk about madden. And when we talk about basketball they could have much more copies sell internationaly, but piracy is still well spread for the pc.

It's just strange they still release FIFA for the PC, yet don't do it for any other sports title they make.

FIFA has international appeal and sells way many more copies worldwide than NBA or Madden, thus, a decent userbase on PC as well.

I'd agree that if EA Sports were to make any PC version it'd be Live that was next, not Madden, because of that international appeal. Especially if they had the various international licenses and teams. NHL had similar user break downs from a casual survey when it was on PC.

My sentiments exactly. It's not a surprise, but I was keeping my fingers crossed all the same. Since I have a 360 I'll be getting it regardless, but they've missed the boat with a lot of fans by sticking to a console only release and it's a shame we can't resurrect the patching culture for the NBA Live series along with its comeback.

It seems too on-topic and hyperlink-free for a bot.

They don't loose money on piracy, since they switched to digital delivery with origin they don't have any pc games stored in warehouses, that's why many of ea sports titles where canceled on PC, because they'll end up with a big percentage of their boxed copies sitting in warehouses. Since they're american sports (am football, basketball and hockey), and americans don't play on PCs, and the international sales projections are probably too small, it doesn't justify a port. They don't earn as much money as they expected is not the same as loosing money.

Indeed...unfortunately for us.

EA Sports ? Who are they ... ?  2K Forever (already). They've got PC versions at least, and great optimalization of game.

Re: No PC Version

The no PC coz of Piracy stance is a joke - piracy is rife on the consoles, particularly xbox.

EA have always been horrible in this regard.

Now that their madden license is running out, I hope 2k get on the football scene and release a football game on PC as well - the modding scene would be remarkable (I think the last one was Madden 08  ).
