OK, maybe I should clarify it. Pre-patch 2K11 >>> pre-patch (and post-patch, for that matter) 2K12. It just had its share of flaws, which were mostly addressed by the patch. CPU psychic steals, way too many blocks on both ends (sliders only helped a little bit), CPU guys with no vertical getting "vertical rebounds", contested jumpshot animations were practically undefendable and some jumpshot releases were screwed up (I remember Rip Hamilton's being particularly bad). Of course, in comparison to 2K12 those are really minor things, but they could have an impact on the gameplay. All in all, 2K11 was fun out of the box, but after the patch it was a lot more fun and the potential that the game had from the start was really used.

Sure. Maybe it wouldn't bother me if it wasn't for 2K and their unsettling tendency to release finished versions of their games that look like early builds (2K10 and 2K12 are on my mind here). The benefit of the doubt might be the proper way to go, but 2K aren't making it easy for me to believe they will sort those things out before the release, that's all.
