Liara's voice is oh-so- :cheeky:

I'll say it now, I am not a fan of the Omni-Blade.

Omni blade indeed looks dumb. They could have at least added an animation showing the blade hi through the npc. Instead they just drop out of site.

Also, why need an Omni-blade when you ARE Commander Shepard -- you have guns!

Okay, this is kinda weird and unexpected, but Bioware released a demo for Mass Effect 3:

Just finished Mass Effect 2 for the second time (the first time was on my old housemate's X-Box and now I have a PS3). Made some pretty epic mistakes during the game:

-I lost both Tali and Samara in the suicide mission. I also screwed up both their personal missions. I presented the evidence against Tali's dad in court, which made her hate me. Plus I let Samara's daughter get away. Previously I did the opposite.
-I let Thane's son assassinate that guy at the Citadel.
-I saved the civilians in the Zaeed mission, but ultimately his target got away.

This was also the first time I played through with the downloadable content.

I thought at first that if you failed on the loyalty missions, that crew member will die.

Also, after getting the loyalty missions of your companions, do them right away. When the Collectors attack the Normandy SR-2 (the part where you control Joker), all the crew except for Joker will be kidnapped. After that, Shepard and the rest of the remaining crew will decide if they'll take the Collectors right away or finish other side missions. Fighting the Collectors right away will save all the Normandy crew members, Kelly included.

I talked to someone at EB and they said that the character will die regardless if you put them in that situation. My third time finishing that game (possibly as a Fem Shepard), I will kick every mission's ass.

I preordered Mass Effect 3 today. The two guys at EB games were big fans as well and I got into a 20 minute discussion with them about it. Is it true that 3 will be the end of the Shepard storyline, but not the end of Mass Effect?

If you're having problems with that mission, you should check this guide:
http://social.bioware.com/forum/Mass-Effect/Mass-Effect-2-Official-Campaign-Quests-and-Storylines-Spoilers-Warning/Mass-Effect-2039s-Suicide-Mission-Guide---Everything-about-the-final-mission-5855452-1.html
It's quite helpful, if you don't know all of the variables.

Probably. Devs have confirmed the "end of storyline" part and there have been hints about possible continuation of the series. It's more on the rumor level right now though (possibly even MMORPG or FPS type of game), since there have been no official statements yet.

I think they'll swerve the series into this, since BioWare is a division of EA. :(

Mass Effect 3: An Erotic Gay Love Story

Image

Such thoughts had never before caused this Mass Effect fan to tenderize his offal so fervently, and as his boner pulsed madly in hand, he knew he had no regrets. After all, he had no choice. Mass Effect 3 had some homosexual romance options in it, and that means every Mass Effect fan in the world was now 100% devoted to the cock. It would at least expand his dating pool, and hey, they'd all have something in common.

Re: Mass Effect Thread

There's a review already for me3.

copy pasted from BSN:

-15-20 hour-long main quest
-Around 40 hours playtime in total- side missions are vital to amass enough opposition to the Reaper threat
-90 minutes of cutscenes
-No loose ends or cliffhangers, the game is truly an appropriate end to the trilogy with a very intense and touching finale
-More than 100 scenes, conversations and/or events change depending on our choices- from something small like someone thanking us for completing a mission to bigger repercussions which would be to spoilerous to write down- you are definitely going to feel the consequences, and not always like them
-SPOILER: In order to rally allies, we search for a cure for the Genophage, build a Prothean weapon, disarm a Cerberus bomb before it destroys half of a moon, and are even inserted virtually in a computer program
-If and how many of these quests we complete influences how the game ends, and who- individually and globally- survives
-While the game can be enjoyable for newcomers as well, because the game is strong on its own mechanically and story-wise, it is recommended to play the first two entries to make more sense out of the wealth of information that the game builds on
-There's an interesting sequence after the end credits
-The „Role-Play“ mode of the game (In contrast to „Action“ and „Story“) feels very much like ME1
-The game gives you more opportunity to customize your Shepard. Each class has 8 talents with 6 levels each, and up from Level 4 there are two branches to choose from to level up each individual talent differently. Weapon customization is also a factor and noticeable, but the effects (which have both pros and cons) are only marginal
-Balancing isn't optimal
-The game is noticeably more difficult up from „Medium“, which makes using the correct weapon mods and talents integral to survive. Shepard also shoots more accurately in cover.
-The AI, on the other hand, is still not very advanced
-SPOILER: You are going to visit Krogan ruins, a Geth ship and the Turian moon Palaven, among others
-There are multiple turret sections which aren't very well directed
-Despite the shortcomings in level design, which are similar to ME2, the game is constantly thrilling, spectacular and dramatic- largely thanks to the well-presented story and dialogue- and there are lot of small and large choices again to ponder on
-Scanning isn't nearly as repetitive as before, because it works a lot quicker now and incorporates a new mini-game where you have to navigate your ship away from Reaper threat
-The new melee option is fun, but a little overpowered
-Graphically, the low polycount, lack of detail and low texture resolution disappoints- the characters are well animated and modeled however, and the overall look, despite its age, is quite moody
-Great dynamic soundtrack and sound-effects
-Our progress in the war effort is constantly trackable on a terminal on the Normandy

EDIT: the review was made by gamestar a german pc mag.

I'm still deciding whether I should go to the midnight launch. Although I have a class the next day, it's not til 1pm, so it's not like I'll be burning the candle at both ends. But then again, it might be better to avoid the crowd as much as I can.

I'm kinda broke right now so I'm gonna wait a bit before getting the Collector's Edition on PC, but from the look of it this is already another winner from Bioware...Can't wait to play it.

EVERYONE, spread the word, Mass Effect 3's endings were total shit
crotchbeam9

More rage comments that may contain spoilers.
It's amazing how the games ending has nothing to do with their "Take Earth Back" marketing...
JRod365LIVE
You could have done something awesome with this series. You could have created a story to last the ages.
Instead we got deus ex machinas, glowy space children, and no explanation of anything. This franchise is dead, and you killed it.
Eat shit, Bioware.
Verminator4
Everyone thought that there would be some serious badassery as shepard fights an all out ground war against the reapers, perhaps even vehicles. I was even expecting to learn more about the different races of mass effect as the war for earth progressed. BUT All we got was SHEPARD THE SPACE JESUS
Potatonaught
It's funny... after playing the game twice I can still not remember having taken back earth with my giant fleet and army of all the races which I went through hell to assemble...
... there was space magic though... I hate space magic
EliyanBrize
You actually never take earth back...
CmmdrShepard
Don't be...the game is perfect until the end! It's a fucking calamity! I wept because I saw the greatest franchise go down the drain, within the last ten minutes...
bollocks2who
The problem wasn't "nobody agreed with the ending". that's not true! The problem? THERE IS NO ENDING! Bioware clearly screwed us! If you think the ending was satifying, answer these questions:
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE KROGANS? WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN URDNOT WREX AND WREAV?
IF THE MASS RELAYS ARE DESTROYED, ARE ALL THOSE (ALIEN)SOLDIERS STRANDED ON EARTH?
WHERE DID JOKER LAND THE DAMAGED NORMANDY?
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE COUNCIL, AND PEOPLE OF THE CITADEL?
SEE WHAT I MEAN NOW?
