I have to admit that I'm somewhat disappointed with yersterday's "news", I think the contest is great but I wouldn't consider it news specially if they promoted it since last week.

Anyway you slice it, it's news. Whether its news everyone wanted to hear or not or is particularly interested in is another matter entirely, but it's still news.

In other words, the news is that they're seeking fan feedback on the game and to that end, have put together the NBA Live Advisory Council initiative. It's news, just not details on the game itself, which isn't surprising at it's too early for that.

It may be too early from what we're used to wait for annualy games but it wouldn't be so surprising if news about the game itself appear now because they already have lots of time to show decently the game right now.

It's going to be a little while longer before anything of substance comes out, but we are in the early stages of the preview "season".

I think they should still stick with Durant after that Elite scam.

I remember I read somewhere (maybe here) that the photo could be one of LeBron when he was in HS so from that moment he became the #futureofbasketball. About that list, there's no way anyone from there becomes the cover athlete, there isn't anyone who one could think they have a chance.

I wouldn't rule out LeBron though I do know that in previous years his asking price to appear on the cover has been too high. I still wouldn't be surprised if it's a red herring, simply a stand-in for effect and not a hint at the cover player at all, but I guess we'll find out sooner or later.

From what I've searched, we would probably be knowing the cover player around mid/late June.

Indeed. I suppose it's always possible that they'll reveal the cover player earlier this time around but it's probably a safe bet it'll be some time in June again. Right now, we're a little way off getting too many details about the game.

I don't think that has anything to do with video games. A movie maker, a charity runner, and a co-founder of twitter are the hosts/speakers.

The news came and went last Monday. It was about the contest. We won't get any more news until after the nba finals, most likely.

And whatever does come out, we'll be sure to post.
