NBA 2K12 PC Patch Out Now

Nope. Patches like the one to be released aren't silent Online Data updates, it will require you to download it and install it. I'm guessing you've encountered a glitch.

Did it just get released and applied? My "My Player" all of a sudden thinks I'm a new player and is giving me instructions about what a "Dynamic Goal" is, even though this is about my 100th game.

I've experienced this also. In the Home of the main menu, gone are my "My Player" name. No stats for the NBA players or whatsoever. Can everyone check on this?

Keep My Mod doesn't report anything new in Online Data besides NBA Today. And the servers are currently down. I didn't have my My Player disappear from home, don't know what's happening to you guys.

i'm starting to think they're just fucking with us. patch has prob been ready for weeks they're just trying to piss us off to the point of buying a console/console version.

"Nice" would have been December/January. At this point, every day is just making it more and more unacceptable. It's been almost five months.

But it's impossible to get PC patches out quickly due to all that QA and approval required from the hardware manufacturers.

Almost 2,5 months (time since the console release) should also easily be enough time, unless everyone hates 2K for no apparent reason and is doing all they possibly can to make them delay the patch release even further (which is a summary of Ronnie's version of what's happening... for the third straight year).

Next week, they say? Guess next week it'll be "next week" again.

I have been waiting months ago . I didn't purchased game for this reason but this week I saw a big price drop (%57) and I grab the game . I am still waiting

Here's a hint to everyone, flip the "PC" and "console" in my sarcastic post for the reality of the situation.

This has happened to me since the game came out, I think it's a bug with it auto-loading your last save for it. Sometimes it will show the name but not the players image even when using existing NBA players.

2K definitely lost an enthusiastic fan here due to their bullshit with providing fixes for their game for PC. Sick and tired of this BS. Hopefully Live wont ignore PC users

Lictor, relax. We're all waiting for it, and there's been no news since last week. It's "hopefully" this week. If you want news, we can only keep pestering Ronnie2K on Twitter for an answer, and I'm tired of never being replied to. Only reply I got from 2K this year was when I reported the Team Stats bug back in October days after the game's release with screenshots and everything. LD2k told me he passed on the information to the dev team, but apparently, getting some numbers to add up properly proved quite a bit of a challenge for them.

Which only intensifies my theory of many, many lay-offs after 2K12 was done. Thus the lack of support and the lack of a fix for a simple math bug that wasn't even there in previous years. Greedy CEOs will be greedy.

After all my CS studies it infuriates me to no end. Half an hour with the source code of the game and I'd be able to fix the damn bug. It's a simple thing of adding the box score to the Team Stats! It's not that damn hard! I can only wonder what the hell is going on over there. The devs aren't stupid. They've already developed a very good game. What this game lacks is QA before release. A team of proper beta testers. And also a larger dev team (or a more well-paid one) that will be able to split the work between offering proper support and making the new game.

Sigh, rant mode off. As if whatever I write here is going to make any difference.

If you knew anything about the way the save files work, they actually use one byte for more than one piece of information to save memory. They then use some math to separate the two entries. I learned this from looking at the roster in a hex editor. So, it's probably a bug somewhere in reading the value, because if you look at the box scores and add them up, the stats are correct. Either that or there is a bug when the stat gets stored from memory.

Check out my NBA Stats Tracker tool, Pdub. I've already decoded Team Stats and fixed the Team Stats issue by telling the user to manually enter the box score in the tool, which then updates the Team Stats correctly in the save. What I haven't decoded is the Team Order and why it's different between Associations, and I'm waiting for Vlad's help on that one.

Why pester Ronnie for answers? His answers aren't accurate.

Stop believing that the game will be free from bugs once the patch is out. E.g. some trades are bugged in association mode ever since...

Yeah every program have bugs . nothing is flawless but if it's only a stat bug or another not important thing for me . But if I see with my eyes like graphic bugs it's a big flaw for me . Why I hate NBA Live series ? They have too many graphic glitches . This game is 2K series not glitchy bargain .

What matters to you is the graphics bug/glitches instead of the gameplay bug/glitches? Lol, you hate the Live series just because of the graphics while thinking the 2k series is the perfect basketball game there is.
