Overall Ratings

Hey guys! I guess I'm kinda new to the forums here... never posted, had an account for a long time and just read the forums here but never posted.
Anyways, I have a question. How are the overall ratings calculated from all the components? I run a sim league at http://assl.staghosting.com, and when creating massive amounts of rookies for the next season, we make them on the site instead of in the game, because it is much less time consuming. I have figured out that simply averaging all of the ratings does not work, but that is as far as I have gotten.
Does anybody know?
