About the patch

Does anybody know how to make sure that the patch was installed correctly? I downloaded it and got the two thumbs up but have not noticed any change.

Well, the main issues that the patch fixed were low frame rates when USB devices are used in Windows 98 (I can tell anyone who suffers this problem and hasn't downloaded the patch, it does fix the problem with USB devices), and apparently also fixes some problems with online play. If you weren't having any of the problems that the patch was designed to fix, then you won't notice any difference.

Hi Andrew, how come nothing happens when I clicked the "check for update" link. And I waited a long time but still nothing happened. I tried it w/ both Netscape and Explorer. Please help!

Alright, I was able to download the patch, but I still get crappy frame rates using USB controllers. It's still the same! I thought it was fixed?

Nothing happens when I click on the "Check for Update" link... I get a javascript error in the status bar...

It does work Mike, you just need to have the appropriate Active X component installed. You will have to wait until the page is fully loaded (and in my experience, a few seconds after that) to be prompted to install the component.

That's strange Wing Zero, because I was having the USB problem and the official update did fix it...which controller are you using?
