Preview - All Decade Teams - The 2000s

Sat Dec 24, 2011 8:09 am

Here is the 2000s All Decade Team - The Aughts.

Each player appears in their peak year form, (hair style, accessories, and play style for that year) and is only allowed to be on one all decade team (For example, LeBron and Wade would have both of course made the 2000s all stars, but instead are on the 2010s).

each player appears in their peak year 2000s form except for Michael Jordan, whose peak prime form is in the 90's. So I think he shouldn't be in this team. my vote goes out to Big Ben, consecutive defensive player winner in the 2000s.

I'm going with Ben Wallace instead of MJ.

MJ was the star of 1984-1998. That's all.

Looks like 2003 Ben Wallace it is.

I also updated Kidd and Garnett CFs so they better reflect what they looked like in their prime - screenshots in first post.

Also, thanks to an amazing CF by sith, we now have a true 2001 Iverson -- I just updated his tattoos so they were correct for that year:

I wonder what the lineup's going to be... This is how i see it...

STARTERS:
C- Shaquille O'Neal - 2000
PF- Tim Duncan - 2002 (in his prime, the best player in this position)
SF- Kevin Garnett - 2004
SG- Kobe Bryant - 2006 (if Kobe gives way for AI in this position, then i guess Steve Nash should run the point)
PG- Allen Iverson - 2001 (i know AI is not a true PG but he doesn't want to be sitting on the bench at the start of every game lol)

BENCH: (anybody can be the 6th man)
Tracy McGrady - 2003
Steve Nash - 2005
Vince Carter - 2001
Ben Wallace - 2003
Chris Webber - 2001
Jason Kidd - 2003
Ray Allen - 2002
Paul Pierce - 2006
Dirk Nowitzki - 2007
Yao Ming - 2006

This is just my idea.

Agreed, clarkmylove's young T-Mac is great:

@udexgod:

I like your lineup. Could you imagine going up against that front court?

The only tweak I would make would be starting Kidd at point. This team would need a distributor to run it, not a volume shooter like Iverson. He would be great coming off the bench though for instant offense. Nash could also run it really well, but his defense is obviously much weaker than 2002 Kidd's and he would be more of a liability against some of the other all time great point guards. Doesn't really matter what I think -- the beauty is you can play whomever you want.

uhm like what you did previously with the MJ ---> Ben Wallace substitution thing, IMHO i think it'd be great idea if you let the community vote once again and decide for the best starting lineup with this team, wolf. just a suggestion really.

me personally i take Shaq on 5, TD will be the 4, KG at 3, AI at the 2, and Kidd running the point. Kobe will come off the bench as the primary 6th guy.
