I don't think that's actually the definition of slavery.

Even considering the dictionary definition of slavery, there may be some hyperbole afoot in that sentiment.

That's because you just don't get it man, like owing money is preventing you from doing anything you want and that's slavery, people shouldn't be allowed to give you money now that you have to pay back later, that's just like enslaving you to paying them back. You should just get that money for free, like education and health care and cell phones and the internet and anything else you need. That's like your right. All of our right. People shouldn't be allowed to profit off of others, we should all just like provide together as a community until all needs are met. And we shouldn't have to give up our dreams, we should all be given the opportunity to do what we want with our lives without someone else making us do something just to get paid.

And if you disagree I'm going to firebomb your house and rape women until you respect my rights.

We am the 99%.

Given the nature of their jobs, blowing off some steam with a bit of sophomoric humour doesn't seem like too great a sin.

I have a Master of Arts degree in Women’s Studies. However, the only job I can find is as a bartender at a local restaurant. I owe over 60k in student loans. I am forced to rely on food stamps and W.I.C. to support my son. Is this the “American Dream” I worked so hard for? I am the 99 percent!

lol

I am a senior at a top fashion school in New York City. My dream job is to do editorial at a major publication like Vogueor Elle. Even though I am qualified, I can’t afford my dream because it only pays $30,000/yr (or even less starting out). Because girls from very affluent families want to work at magazines, Daddy continues to pay her bills and expenses (even though they aren’t all necessarily qualified for the positions) and magazines don’t need to increase their salaries. My parents have “white collar” jobs, but based on principle, won’t pay for anything after I graduate. Living in new york is expensive: my box (apartment) is $1,700/month and to dress like I belong at Vogue is too. I’d have to waitress to make ends meet (and have no life) or (ironically) date a Wall St guy (the norm), but I’d rather OCCUPY WALL ST than date it.

I cannot afford to work in my industry.

I am the 99%.

It's unfortunate that 99% of the 99% are idiots.

I HAVE TO DATE A RICH MAN SO I CAN BE SECURE ABOUT THE CLOTHES I AM WEARING AS I CAN'T AFFORD THEM MYSELF BECAUSE I REFUSE TO TAKE A 30K PER YEAR JOB AND LIVE IN AN EXPENSIVE APARTMENT. I AM THE 99%

I love everything about that one. It's literally one of the funniest things I've ever read.

1. She's a "senior" at a FASHION SCHOOL. Not a university or even a college. And there's nothing wrong with fashion school per se except...
2. SHE WANTS TO DO FUCKING EDITORIAL. AT LEAST THROW YOUR MONEY AWAY ON AN ENGLISH DEGREE so that...
3. She assumes she's somehow qualified for a job of which there's probably like four in the fucking world and yet her experience is not graduated from FASHION SCHOOL and this poorly written diatribe...
4. She assumes that the only reason she couldn't get the job is rich daddies pay for unqualified girls (and thus insults her future colleagues and bosses, especially Nina fucking Garcia lol) and magazines would employ them despite this because they're cheap?
5. Her parents won't pay for anything after she GRADUATES from FASHION SCHOOL...
6. She has a $1700 a month apartment in NYC, which isn't cheap, but has plenty of places cheaper than that, which I assume her parents are paying for and that's not enough because

And these are the two I love so much.
7. She needs that much or more a month to "DRESS LIKE I BELONG AT VOGUE" I'm losing my shit here guys my mind is full of fuck she is literally bitching about being oppressed or some shit because when she graduates from FASHION SCHOOL and is cut off by her parents she can't take her dream job (let's just pretend she could even get it) BECAUSE SHE WON'T BE ABLE TO SPEND $2000+ A MONTH ON HIGH FASHION and...
8. SHE CAN'T TAKE A FUCKING SECOND JOB TO BUY A SHIT TON OF EXPENSIVE CLOTHING BECAUSE SHE WOULD HAVE NO LIFE

I DON'T EVEN.

Here's another one:

As Human Events put it:
Maybe you shouldn't have submitted your fictional 'We Are The 99 Percent' sob story from a Tumblr account that's linked to your entire social media footprint, including your work history. And does your recent post on Google+ ring a bell?

my work moved me into a new office

You see, someone who gets a 'new office' at 'work' isn't actually ... wait for it ... jobless.

Random guy (edit: just realized he got the url wrong):

I also like the "We are not alone" part. Kind of redundant when you claim to be part of the 99%.
