Sir Andrew and other patchers///.. could you tell me how to edit 08's roster to live 07///

I downloaded the FIBA LIVE 11 for 08.. then it crashes whenever i play to their courts.. but when i play to all-star court.. it does not crash//... why?

08 to 07 is actually fairly simple when it comes to rosters. You can just take the players.dbf, appearance.dbf, teams.dbf, teamgear.dbf and coaches.dbf from an 08 roster and copy them into an NBA Live 07 roster save. The only thing you may have to look out for is 08's teamgear.dbf has some jerseys that weren't in 07 but since the jersey files themselves are 100% compatible, so you can just copy those over or remove those entries from teamgear.dbf (don't ask me which jerseys though, I can't remember offhand).

But I don't know why it crashes...... in my nba live 07..

Does the FIBA mod have shoe updates? If so, you might have to copy across shoeacc.dbf and make sure you have all the updated shoe files in place as well.

Otherwise, I don't know. Copying those files (and only those files) to an 07 roster works fine for me. If you're getting any error messages when it crashes, that might be able to offer some clue.

Did you try the FIBA mod Andrew.... could you please try if you can.. just asking here because anytime i play it crashes..

No, I haven't tried it and I'm afraid I don't have the time to work on any conversion of it.

Like I said though, if there's an error message then maybe that can provide some clue. Otherwise I really can't say, if you've copied those files exactly (and only those files; that part is very important) it should work fine. Post the error message if you're getting one and outline the steps you've done so far, that's really the only way I can help you from here on out.

No codebase error or whatsoever...

Here i copied appearance.dbf, teams.dbf, location.dbf, teamgear.dbf, shoeacc.dbf, players.dbf and coaches.dbf..... but it still crashes.... except in one of the Wuhan Gymasium and all-star court...

I can't also say that it's because of high-resolution courts because i even replaced the courts with the default nba court so they will not crash but it still crashes... I hate it! I am almost giving up....

Come to think of it, you'll probably need location.dbf for the custom abbreviations for the court files. Try copying it across as well.

Hmm...in that case, you might have to take an 07 location.dbf file and make the changes manually so that it contains the necessary abbreviations. The easiest way to do that would be to open the two files in DB Commander so that you can refer to the 08 file while making changes to the left. I really don't know what else to suggest, I haven't encountered this much trouble converting 08 rosters to 07.

I already did that but does not work after all... i even changed the number from 98 to 1... but it still doesn't work! Ahh..

Then I really don't know what else to suggest. If all the files are in place, all the correct abbreviations are being used and only the files I told you to copy over have been copied, everything should be working fine. I'm out of ideas.

I'd say a majority of patchers learned from trial and error. Asking for help for every issue won't get you anywhere. use the search function and expirement. good luck.

Is there a difference between nba live 08's teams.dbf to nba live 07..... I replaced the teams.dbf and location.dbf... it worked, then i edited the values in teams.dbf to correpond with the art files(jerseys, ) but it crashed...

They should be compatible but it's probably worth taking an 07 teams.dbf and making the required changes to match the mod's teams.dbf file manually.

i tried but when i changed each of the teams abbreviations to correspond with the art files,, it crashes..

YES! I figured it out.... the problem is with the stadia files.. as u can see.. unlike 08... nba live 07 needs that the team (4-letter) abbreviation must be the name of the court file.. so.. in the fiba mod.. i only got three court files.. so i copied each one of them (corresponding to their id in the location.dbf with teams.dbf) (e.g..... renamed amer.viv to usa.viv and arge.viv) and i got 30 court files... and boom.. FIBA LIVE 11 on my nba live 07... and my new dynasty team is Latvia.. hahah.. thank u for all the suggestions guys!

The roster is just ok, u just need the additional stadia files....

Stress Fracture, sorry i cant upload the stadia files coz Dc311 wont allow it.. oh well

They are obviously available to download as part of the mod for 08. So long as you outline all the necessary changes that got the mod working in 07, others can download the mod and follow the required steps.
