Realistic mesh/holes for the jerseys

Thu Oct 20, 2011 11:11 pm

Dear Jersey Patchers,

Take a look at my work on the holes/mesh of the jersey, its small looks like vertical line when it seeing far just like the real rev30 jersey unlike with our current holes of jersey, it was too big and have a wide spacing(I'm refering for the holes not the jesey).. I want to see this in game but I don't know how to make jerseys for now. Anyone will try to make a jersey like this?

Good work body, but be careful that "Special" REV30 dots pattern (like this) only is use by Orlando, New Orleans & Bobcats jersey. The reason?, because their vertical stripes design don't alow to have the regular (or default in 2k12) REV30 dots patter.

Another tip.
I see you made a solid dot, that looks good but if you want to match the effect of depht of the dot (like in the game), I think you should "open" the dot and then play with green & gray alpha.

No bro, I think all of 30 teams have that pattern and spacing of the holes. Can you have a try bro? I want to see it in game..

You can easily extract the mesh hole template since its a white jersey.

Then just use the tools in photoshop to keep/get rid of the parts you need. :)

Black areas has a bigger dot that the grey area.

And Orlando & New Orleans has a complete dots pattern like you did (Charlotte only has dots on ther sides)

Yeah, thats right. But as I said, if you want to have the depht effect I think you should "open" the dot (and "fill" that opened part with visual effect the create the depht), 'cause if you don't do that the dot patter will look flat in game

I think that those holes are the ones they used to use, but nba players have now switched to a new jersey type called Revolution 30 which has the different holes and is more fitted. It's supposed to be lighter and faster drying. So that's what they mentioned above. I didn't know this before though, makes more sense now.

More can be read about it here. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/st ... ortCat=nba

Looks like 2k knew what they were doing there.

However, these could be used for the retro jerseys, if they don't already use something similar. Haven't had a look at those retro jerseys myself though.

That is what I'm talking about, "revolution 30". 2k jerseys has a wide spacing and a bigger holes and its different from the real rev30 jersey.. and I think that Bobcats jersey is from '09 season(the old one) that they compare to the new one(lakers jersey). Have you done the jersey? I really want to see this in game..

Bobcats one is still the same, flat, they change the collar and side dots pattern to the new one.
