I don't think you can mod on the digital version as I don't see where the local files are located.

User Data (Rosters, Associations, My Player's, CAL's, Sliders, Settings, Living Rosters, etc.) go in this folder: "C:\Users\(Username)\AppData\Roaming\2K Sports\NBA 2K12\" no matter which version do you have.

Game files (jerseys, cyberfaces, portraits, stadiums, global files, animations, audios, dornas, etc.) go in this folder for Steam users: "C:\Program Files (maybe in Program Files (x86) )\Steam\steamapps\common\nba 2k12\".
