Jesus that's one high score, especially considering it's a sports game. Ah well, I'll take it

I think FIFA 12 got a 9.5 from them too.
The Friday before the game comes out isn't usually considered "early" anymore either.

Written review here:
http://ps3.ign.com/articles/119/1197348p1.html9.5 is an impressive score for a basketball game, though I don't place much stock in ratings for video games; not as much as what's described in the review, at any rate. When it comes down to it, we've seen the previews and the Developer Insights and we've played the demo, so we have a pretty good idea of what to expect. For those of us who are definitely picking up the game at this point, I'm sure we'll be able to fill each other in on the pros and cons.

I think 2ksports is very good at adding features to their games throughout the time and not just adding a few stuff, forgetting about some and taking away other ones. Just like FIFA 12 I think. But one aspect that I think all companies that develop sport titles forget about is making single player more fun, and 2k12 is getting to a place where playing alone is so much fun man!! Way to go 2ksports, I'm pretty sure that a 9.5 is a hell of a fair score.

I think the 9.5 out of 10 is a rating based on how good it is for a bball game, not as a game overall, which I think is fair enough.

It should get higher than last year's 2k11 rating (9.5), it should be 9.7/9.8 judging from the overall new gameplay mechanism, presentations and great ideas IMO

That's the problem with numerical ratings. It could "feel" like a 9.5 or a 9.7, it could be a step up from last year, but unless the game is absolutely perfect - a tough call for any title - there's room for improvement and thus you've got to leave some room for a better score next year. As I said before, I think what's described in the body of a game review, the observations, reactions and the weighing up of the pros and cons, are more valuable than the numerical scores.

1. IGN reviews on increments of .5.
2. How do you know it's not a 9.743 instead of a 9.761?
3. You haven't even played it yet.

2K12 has better looking shoes than 2K11. Nothing more needs to be said.

Exactly, that's the measurement IGN uses. Can't wait, can't wait!

The .5 that it missed is for "ugly faces".

Like everyone else said though, if it isn't perfect (in the opinion of the reviewer), it doesn't deserve a perfect rating. All you need to say is it's better than NBA 2K11 to prove that point.
Sun Oct 02, 2011 7:51 am
How many of us got ourselves thinking: "Oh my god, NBA 2k12 lauches tomorrow and I'm still playing 2k11!!!" That's probably will be the feeling with 2k12 and 2k13, so I'm thinking: "How many games do we play one year or more these days?" I say, just a few. And these reviewers got to consider this when writing something, so a 9.5 is one of the most fair scores on that crazy website.

hauahuahuahauh I was doing that also, but when some amazing mods like 1992 and 1997 season came out, man, I reainstalled all of my 3 nba 2k11!!!
EDIT: By the way, one of you guys now how some people already have the game? There's a few guys from asia I think that are playing the game on youtube, showing the modes, etc. Is it something illegal or they are some kind of evaluators for 2ksports?
Mon Oct 03, 2011 1:12 pm
This review holds no weight, I think this guy played 1 game, I mean he was blowing the CPU out 18-2 at the half, so he was playing 5 min quarters LOL!!

Okay so this review only noticed the "weird faces" to be its con.

hahahahaha, man he was showing my player mode while creating the player. It's really funny, those guys creates players that look like taken from anime. And real tall guys that plays like Jordan.

DJ Skee reviewing the game, it's nothing we don't already know, he doesn't even bring up features in the game other than the Legends Mode

2k Sports is just flat out awesome. 2k11 was incredible. Sure, it took some getting used to (not cheesing passes through 5 defenders), but in the end, it was a blast. And only $20 for the PC to boot. 2k, you rock my world! EA, you suck my c***.
