Talk about NBA 2K12 here.

I disagree with you on this one Jao. IIRC I played one of the really old NBA 2k games once (it had Iverson on the cover) at a friend's house a long time ago and I remember I could adjust my created player's body type and proportion, like shoulder width and stuff. Or...maybe I misremembered and it was another NBA game.
And as for CAP faces 2k8 and prior, I do agree we're better off right now, but I think maybe that's because the tech itself has evolved, after all it has been 3 years and more. A more valid comparison would be between NBA 2k9-11 with other games in their generations with CAC feature, and I think in this area they were lacking. IMO they could've made a better CAP face system like we find in many other games in those same generations.
But still, even though it's nothing ground-breaking, I think the CAP faces in that screenshot are kind of more pleasant looking that the mugs in 2k11, so I guess there's some improvement right there.
Also, as a big fan of MyPlayer mode, I'm really psyched to see the scouting report overviews there, can't wait to give my player something hilarious like "feeds teammates extremely efficiently at a 13 apg clip but shoots from halfcourt regularly despite missing all shots" or maybe "brings guns into the locker room" (joking

)

I can kinda see what he is saying if you look at this youtube video this was someone's created MJ on NBA2K8 and please look at it instead of shooting it down because at 2:17 you cant tell me that the cap this guy made doesn't resemble MJ because I saw this in 2008 and shit my self if you know how I am about MJ then you would know why but based off this vid I would definitely say we had it better in previous versions than we do now, not really a concern of mine just thought I would throw this out there.

Yeah Stomp,
MessenjahMatt was always good at making CAP's for MJ since 2K8, for us console users, and that's how he got people's attention. What I would wish, is that just how the CAP face was different from 2K8 to 2K9, and from 2K9 to 2K10, that that would continue through 2K12. I'm not hating on the current CAP system, I'm just saying how I wish that it'd be different. It hasn't changed from 2K10.
Just my little opinion.

Maybe he cheated.

But seriously, I really hope that you do not have to start from a 3x overall rating again...

Well Ronnies started at 61 for a number 20 pick, I guess they set your ratings from how good you do in the College game, and how high you get drafted maybe?
Wed Sep 07, 2011 7:37 pm
I managed to become the 13th pick despite an overall rating in the lower 40ies in 2k11. The rating compared with his draft position means nothing, as we're not sure, that Ronnie did not manipulate his skillpoints... We'd also need some more infos about the overall ratings of other draft picks to answer that question.

I know, right? When I first played NBA 2k11's MP mode my created dude felt like he was worse than me in real life, LOL. Thank God for Alec's trainer
And also, the created players look more different from one another in the screenshot. Unlike 2k11's CAP who all have Chinese eyes, African American features and Latino skin texture, ensuring that no race is accurately represented
In the screen shot the CAP player with a black name looks black, while the one with the name Singh looks...Filipino

. But still, at least they don't look like siblings from different tanning salons anymore.

I can't understand why you guys want bigger ratings to start with, when even on low rankings now it was too easy too become a starting superstar getting more minutes than establsihed megastars like LeBron, Wade, Kobe, D-Rose or others, without even playing half of your rookie season... Well, let's hope they tuned CPU coach logic so that now you won't be geting +3 minutes even after you played worse than average game.

Excuse me sir, do you have any problem with Filipinos?

I doubt Ronnie manipulated his skill points.

Looks like they improved the eyes and eyebrows and changed the lighting a bit. Just don't look at his neck.
Sounds pretty good, so far. I like that the rating starts out higher. Maybe it will be harder to raise it, because my player was flat out boring in 2K11 if you use anything but casual sliders. 47 rated player getting 30 minutes a game, tossing up bricks.
The two main reasons for generated/created players looking alike were the lack of variety in headshapes and facial features, along with that single normal map. That normal map is what really makes everyone look the same, since it applies shading to the face. They should move to a more dynamic normal map, utilizing two normal maps, one with more chiseled features, one with more rounded features, and use a simple texture blending transparency slider for various areas of the face, like the cheeks and cheekbones, brow, forehead, eyes(lids), nose, chin and jaw. Before 2K9, they actually had a variety of face "textures" which were probably just bumpmaps that applied different looking features like a wrinkled forehead or dimpled cheeks, etc.
I wonder if David Stern let them scan him for his headshape.

My Player Career of Ronnie2K - Outdoor Billboards: Thanks to a promising start, the Minnesota Timberwolves put dollars behind marketing their new star SG, Ronnie. All around the city, outdoor signage goes up. This is just one of the many prominent examples around town

LOL you didn't get what I mean at all, friend. To answer your Q: Of course not, it's because the name's obviously Indian, yet the face is Filipino (IMO), which makes it

worthy, you know, because they don't match?
No disrespect to Filipino or Indian people here
I love Filipino people mate, I think your girls are lovely
