[BETA] Hoop it Up 2K11

This mod was quickly becoming a part of my APB mod, but rather than axing it completely, I am throwing it out for you guys to test and give suggestions on.

• My plan is to do something with the jerseys (I havent decided on what, need help)
• Reskin the arenas (should I stick with the small crowds of the summer circuit and blacktop courts? or switch to the empty attack athletics and practice gym?)
• Add Association support

So please give me feedback on it while I work on some other projects (and life) so I can come back to this before 2K12. Download is at the bottom of the first post.

1) of course you need some crazy jerseys... Multicolored, fancy etc...
2) you need some crowd... there will be always crowd... so "should I stick with the small crowds of the summer circuit and blacktop courts?"... yes!
3) Not too necessary... It is August... Why play an association? At this time of year when people play, the do it with friends on quick matches or they play something quick like playoffs... Everyone waits 2k12 for a new association, mate...

Already tried it.

My notes:
1. Blacktop Arena- the shotclock doesn't show its just a black square on the screen.
2. Blacktop Arena- the players and coaches are sitting on a player's jersey? It doesn't bother me though but it would be good if its a real bench.
3. Association Mode- Crashes after one month sim or not sim.
4. Association Mode- The staff's (coach and assistant coach) name differs from their portraits. Ex: Kobe Bryant is the head coach but the name shows Kevin Love.

That's all I noticed. For me Its the best if they only played on the summer circuit because it has the same atmosphere as a mens league.

1. Nothing I can do about the shot clock unfortunately, its just what happens when you use the blacktop court in the 5v5 game
2. Same thing as above, nothing can be done as its not meant to have 5v5 games on it other than in Blacktop Mode, only thing is to change detail settings to sidelines off

The main thing holding me back from only using the Summer Circuit is the fact that you will only play at that one court. Which yes, a Mens League usually doesnt travel much, but if 2 "street" courts have crowds I was thinking about using them, even if the Blacktop one is uncooperative.

I did include a "tshirt" texture for the shoulder brace accessory but you have to manually apply that to your global if you want it.

Loving this Jao. What I like the most is actual NBA players being the coaches. You need a full REDitor to do that?

...Also, I'd love to see screens of your "females" in the game, because I've attempted that a few times (in this mod even) but gave up.

you need to be able to edit the staff tab, so either developer or guru licenses. I loved having the NBA Player coaches too, that is the only reason this roster wasn't relegated to only being released in that blacktop mod.

gogadantes, yea I remember those faces for 2k10, kinda creepy truthfully. I was trying to convert over the cheerleaders but didnt have any luck since I'm terrible with 3D face editing.

Nice idea. I have been trying to work on something similar. I have been tweaking the nba 2k10 street mod for a bout a year now. i didnt want to waste time with the 2k11 version because you cant use the same headshapes. i have created people i know and even females. I'm waiting for 2k12 to be released on pc to finish up my project. But seeing this makes me want to go get 2k11 for pc. I only have it on 360 b/c i have 2k10 on pc. Keep up the good work

@xoamberxo222: um, he said it's only for 2k10, he tried replicating it for 2k11 but failed. Though female players would be very right for this (Jao's mod) in particular; for that informal, mixed players summer league vibe.
Apparently as far as extra hidden stuff is concerned 2k11 is way less awesome than 2k10 with its extra courts and custom modeled headshapes:(
Although if you feel you just have to have female cyberfaces (that chances are won't look like your real one) and know how to modify a CF and assign it to a player, there are 3 hidden cyberface files in the default NBA 2k11 directory that are ALL FEMALES: png1631.iff, png1632.iff and png1633.iff.
Just copy those files and change the file names to pngxxxx.iff, with xxxx=unused ID number. But then you'd also have to make custom arm textures for them though, since their arms are still the default black skin color. And then you'd probably want to make custom textures for their faces as well if you don't like the default ones.
1631&1633 are Asian women, while 1632 is Caucasian. I think maybe they're some of the programmers or something.

Jao, I've played some games with your mod, I've some feedbacks.
It works fine in exhibition games, but unlike with dare's experience, I wasn't able to start an association mode at all, it crashed back to the desktop. same with season mode. i don't know what the difference between my and dare's game's is.
@dare: did you tweak any association options before starting your game? in my case, i tried twice, once with # of games in a season game changed to 29, 9 min. quarters, and a bunch of stuff like player roles and trades turned off. the other time i tried the default settings, both with the same results.
hmm...or maybe because i have the unpatched nba 2k11.exe? what's your patch situation, dare?

gogadantes, I only change the games to 29, just tried it again and I can't start the association mode. Even without changing any of the settings.

gogadantes, thank you for the heads up on the female developers, if anyone is curious as to how they look here. you. go. I'm aslo curious as to how you knew of those faces, if there is some kind of complete resource laying around somewhere.

that said, patched/unpatched shouldnt matter. I forget what I messed with to make association mode break but I'll make sure it gets fixed.

there wont be an NLSC team for this mod, i have other plans

@dare: well, at least we tested it and brought it to Jao's attention.

@JaoSming: Don't mention it, Jao. I see you fixed their default black arms problem. But IMO you should just use a single color (flesh colored) non-textured image for the arms (maybe mask out the fingers and palm area a bit), because apparently the global file contributes to the definition and shading of the arms and whatnot, so any definition on the individual CF's arms texture images will yield those freakishly hard ripped muscles (for women) you got going on in your screen shots there:)
I thought people here already knew about a complete CF list, but if even you don't, then I'm guessing lots of others don't too. I found it about a month ago in a blog somewhere. After you asked I went to search for the site but couldn't find it, so I just posted it myself, as I immediately saved the list when I saw it that time.

Weird girls, I can play the association mode again but first I need to play a quick game. But again after one month it crashes to the desktop. BTW there is someone I think on the Savage team averages 25.0 rebounds per game.

for those wondering about the ratings....


I took the My Player template ratings (shitty) and then the CAP templates (star) and then created a spreadsheet that chose a random rating between the two. And yes, I matched up the templates first, so a Pass First PG for the MP template matched up with the CAP Pass First template.
