I thought just came across my mind. Say for instance they indeed add the 1972-Wilt Chamberlain version where he averaged 50 ppg. Say you add this 1972 Wilt Chamberlain team into a 82 game regular season, what would Wilt Chamberlain numbers be ? would he still average over 50 ppg and 20 rpg in the videogame?

That would actually be the 1962 Wilt Chamberlain.

My guess is that because it's the same sim engine and ratings scale, he wouldn't average 50 and 20 but still put up some awesome stats.

Hey guys i don't want to be bad or something ,please don't get me wrong, but don't you think you are turning too much attention on that "Greatest" mode . We are gonna play NBA 2k12 not NBA 1995 or 1985 or 1975 and YES i am IN for that idea to have a such mode , BUT i think 2Ksports are turning too much attention on that. I don't agree Jordan , Bird or Magic (those great players btw , the game wouldn't be the same without them) to be on the cover of NBA 2k12 , we should stay with our era full with unbelieavable players like Wade,Kobe,Lebron,Dwight,Carmelo,Amare,Shaq,Dirk,Kevin,Paul,Ray,Derrick,Chris,Chauncey,Rip and etc. I also think 2K should have turned more on graphics the player models, and just a little more work on ball movement , dribbling and especially on shooting and dunking.

The historical content is part of a contingency plan because of the lockout that's currently threatening the entire 2011/2012 season. But yeah, probably best to keep that discussion in one of the other threads that JaoSming linked or start a new one for that discussion.

Kobe leads facebook voting I thought we were going for a "no longer playing" thing. I understand Shaq, even though he just retired, he's not the same he used to be. kobe's still a superstar in the NBA today.

I can understand why people would want to recreate Kobe's 81 point game or whatever, but I too think the appeal of the concept lies in retired legends and old school rosters.

I think Shaq is the way to go, we would have rosters from mid 90's to 21st century like the Heat.

But I think this mode would be more insteresting if we could play a whole series and have either especific objectives for each game or just a few games or a bigger obvjective like winning the series. Still envolves only 2 teams(so their jobs wouldn't be harder editing and creating more teams) and it would be a more enjoyable experience.
And PLEASE, make it's options editable, I mean, at least I can't score 66 points with jordan with a 8 min quarter unless I exploit him way more than bulls did.

Agreed. Eight minute quarters isn't too bad as a default option, but it'd be nice to be able to play 12 minute quarters or whatever if desired. I can imagine Wilt's 100 (should it be in the game) would be extremely difficult on eight minute quarters.
