THE FACTS: The first time these two teams faced each other the Pistons won it in 2OT, but that was a different team from now, so much so that Chris Kaman who was a Clipper that game is not a Piston. Unfortunately, Kaman will not play against his former team tonight as he is still dealing with a Torn Hamstring. For the Clippers Baron Davis was dressed but did not start the game due to a sore knee. Rookie Eric Bledsoe started off strong, he did play a little too fast and out of control, but it was mainly jitters from his first NBA start. The Clippers would go on an 11-0 run to take an early lead, but the Pistons kept fighting to come back and keep the game close. The game was close in the 3Q but the Clippers were clearly in control, especially in the paint. The Pistons suffered 3 injures in the quarter alone, but were able to take a 1 point late in the quarter. The 4Q was very tight and the Clippers eventually found themselves down by 2. Then Craig "Rhino" Smith scored 2 baskets in a row and they lead the fast break for another basket to put the Clippers up by 4. The Clippers then started to run out the clock, and with tough defense on both sides, neither team could score. Time was running out for the Pistons as Eric Bledsoe was just too fast for the Pistons, especially a hurting Will Bynum to catch to foul.
THE STAT: Without a big man insight for the Pistons, the Clippers dominated the paint scoring 70 points versus only 32 points
QUOTABLE: Baron Davis on his knee, "It still felt sore during shoot around so I told coach he should go with the Rook this game, but I still wanted to try it out in game. When I got in the game, it was still really sore and I felt that I would only hurt the team if I continued to play this one. I just need my rest for the playoffs. The Rook got this for now."
HOT: Stepping in for the injured Baron Davis, Eric Bledsoe scored 20 points and dished out 11 assists, he did turn the ball over often, but that could be expected for a rookie starting his first NBA game
NOT: DeAndre Jordan had a tough night as his opponents were all too fast and agile for him to defend as he was constantly in foul trouble scoring only 6 points, but was still able to pull down 11 rebounds.
GOOD MOVE: In the 3Q Blake Griffin blew by the defense for a monster jam, Loul Deng tried to contest the shot, but by the time he realized who it was that was driving to the lane, it was too late, the fear was in his ear as he was posterized. As Blake threw down another poster the announcers just yelled..."Deng!!!"
BAD MOVE: Despite a hot 1Q with 10 points, he was flat the rest of the game and even stepped out of bounds on the baseline without very much defensive pressure being applied to him
Injuries:
First Rodney Stuckey collide with DJ and strained Achilles and did not return to the game.
Moments later Will Bynum was brought down by Wilson Chandler and hurt his back (back spasms), but was able to return
Then late in the quarter Rip Hamilton landed hard on his back after a jumpshot and did not return due to lower back strains
The 3Q was the worse injured quarter the Pistons could imagine, hurting their playoff chances within the matter of 12 minutes.
Playoff Picture: This win along with a surprising upset win by the Sixers over the Mavericks, the Clippers have claimed the 3rd Spot in the West and Clinch the playoffs as they make their return since their last run in the 2005-06 season

CHANDLER SUSPENDED 1-GAME BY THE LEAGUE
The league has reviewed the 3 quarter of the Clippers-Pistons game early this week, where 3 separate Pistons got injured within a matter of 12 minutes. While the contact with Rodney Stuckey and Rip Hamilton were clearly accidentally, they had the worst injuries. Will Bynum on the other hand was able to return to the game, but after a clear review it appeared that the league felt that Wilson Chandler's take down to prevent the easy layup was excessive and was upgraded to a flagrant 2 foul and a 1 game suspense. The Clippers have just clinched a playoff spot, but their rotation is will be thin in their next game was they are already without All-Star Eric Gordon and veteran Baron Davis is playing limited minutes due to injury. Rookie Al-Farouq Aminu is expected to make hist first start against the Bobcats. With Blake Griffin already a starter, and now Aminu and Eric Bledsoe joining him, the Clippers will feature 3 rookie in the starting lineup.
CLIPPERS CLINCH A PLAYOFF SPOT
With the close win against the Detroit Pistons and a surprising upset by the Philadelphia Sixers over the Dallas Mavericks, the LA Clippers have taken the 3rd spot in the West and also clinched a playoff spot. This is their first time back in the playoffs since the 2005-06 season, where they were only 1 game away from making the Western Conference Finals, but lost in the final moments to the Phoenix Suns. To make things even more interesting, there is not a single player on the roster today that was on that Clippers playoff team only 5 seasons ago. Other than some front office personnel, Athletic Trainer Jasen Powell is the only real connection back in those playoff days.

THE FACTS: The game starter fast for both teams until the Hawks, lead by Joe Johnson started to take over and go on a 6-0 run. Blake Griffin had a poor 1Q, but DeAndre Jordan redeem himself with 10 points and Eric Bledsoe continued to look comfortable running the point. Fellow rookie Al-Farouq Aminu had a tough night however, possibly because of how hard it was defend Joe Johnson when he was that hot, scoring 23 points in the first half. With the Clippers down 7 in the first half, Willie Warren hit a 3 pointer, then after a Rafer Alston was fouled and made 1 of 2 free throws, Warren caught the ball with less than 1 second left and hit another 3 pointer at the buzzer to put the Clippers within 2 at the break. The Clippers took all the momentum into the 3Q as they came climbing back to take the lead. But Joe Johnson lead a push in the end to keep the game close. The 4Q was more back and forth action all the way until there was 1 minute left in the game. With the game tied, Blake Griffin drove down the lane and slammed it threw and drew a foul on Al Horford for the 3 point play. The Clippers played tough defense and closed the game out from the free throw line. The win tonight makes their long road trip a successful one.
THE STAT: There were a lot of fouls called in this game, 46 total, and the Clippers took advantage shooting 84% from the line verses the Hawks 57%
QUOTABLE: Nick Young, "I just got to keep it from getting stiff. With only a few games left in the season I want to rest it up for the playoffs."
HOT: Rookie Willie Warren was perfect on the night with 12 points on 4 from 4 from 3 point land
NOT: Josh Smith fouled out of this game with only 4 points on 1 of 4 shooting.
GOOD MOVE: Right at the tip-off Eric Bledsoe got the ball and immediately threw a alley-oop lob to DeAndre Jordan before the defense could set themselves up
BAD MOVE: Josh Powell inbounded the ball to Jamal Crawford who fumbled the pass so badly the ball bounced back at Powell who was still out of bounds...Turnover!
Injuries: Nick Young twisted his ankle going for a rebound early in the game, he was able to return

TIME TO REST![]()

The Clippers are currently battle a few injuries just before the playoffs and with the Clippers clinching a spot, they may start to look at resting their core players.
In the last game, Nick Young, a 6th man for the team who has been starting during the absence of Eric Gordon suffered a minor twisted ankle. Since Wilson Chandler will be in uniform next game after serving his 1 game suspension, he may start in Young's place until either he or Gordon return.
Baron Davis has reported been cleared by the medical staff to be free from any restrictions, but with the positive play by rookie Eric Bledsoe, the Clippers will most likely ease Baron back into the starting lineup before the playoff start.
Eric Gordon has been recovery nicely and is expected to be back soon. If he does not make it in uniform by their last home game against the San Antonio Spurs, he will most likely be on the final road trip for the team and possibly play in either Houston or New Orleans to get him back into game action before the playoffs.

NBA GREEN WEEK: NBA Cares is promoting NBA Green Week this week and all players are encouraged to wear green accessories that are made from 100% recycled material. Some teams will also wear Green Alternate jerseys which are also made out of recycled material.
THE FACTS: The Clippers charged quick out of the gate and it appeared the Bobcats were going to be in for a long night. The Clippers quickly went to their bench in the game with an 11 point lead early on, allowing more rest to the core players. But something happened when the reserves were in, the Bobcats kept inching in and kept the game close. The Clippers were shooting a good percentage, including 6 3Pointers, but their offensive execution was very poor, as if they were not interested. Veteran Stephen Jackson took advantage as he lead his team back to a 2 point lead at halftime. The Clippers started the 3Q on a 13-0 run, but once again they lost focus and allowed the Bobcats to get back into the game. With the game tied at the end of the 3Q, the Clippers were clearly losing their grip on the game. Still playing their reserves for most of the quarter the Bobcats would eventually secure a lead near the end of the quarter. Blake Griffin and the starters returned, but it was not enough as the Captain Jack sealed the win.
THE STAT: The Bobcats outscored the Clippers 32 to 20 in the 4Q to take the win and snap their 3 game losing streak
QUOTABLE: Blake Griffin, "Just because I my minutes are being reduced doesn't mean the other guys can relax too. We have to keep playing every minute of the game. I will make sure they understand that."
HOT: DeAndre Jordan almost recorded his first career triple-double with 15 points-9 rebounds-9 blocks
NOT: Clippers bench was out scored 44 to 28
GOOD MOVE: Stephen Jackson attacked the lane and got crushed, but he was still manage to flip the ball in for a circus shot
BAD MOVE: In the final 2 minutes, rookie Al-Farouq Aminu dribbled the ball of his foot on one possession and then got the ball stripped on a layup attempt on the following, ruining any chances of a final moment comeback

The season is almost over and this will be the first time the Clippers will play against the San Antonio Spurs. Arguably, Tim Duncan is the best PF the game has ever seen, until maybe Blake Griffin.
