2K12 Cover Discussion

On IGN awhile ago they had voting for the cover of 2k12. I was really dissapointed.
Was anybody else kind of excited to see what they would do with 2k12's cover? Whether they put another MJ on it, or go back to a regular boring superstar, or go retro again?

Personally I'd be waking up wet every night until its released if they went retro and put Dominique on the cover. Anyone else feel this way?

I feel like they did something new for 2k11, it was a huge success, why do people expect them to go straight back to the old formula? Not to mention 2k has been known for put the same athlete on the cover for several years.... AI, Shaq.

Anyways what are your hopes and expectations for the cover athlete(s)?

I think Kevin Durant or Derrick Rose, but if the Mavs win the NBA Championship, then Dirk Nowitzki.

My pick would be Derrick Rose. He's a rising star, won the MVP this season and did some promo work for NBA 2K11. The cover is far from the most important aspect of the game for anyone who cares about the product they're buying but being a Rose fan, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing that.

More likely Rose, as mentioned he did some commercials for 2K11 and was also the Draft Combine 'spokesman' for 2K10, especially now that he's MVP.

Definitely have to bring Lebron on the cover. He's the most hyped up athlete we have now. Even people who aren't fans of Basketball know who Lebron James is.

No one in Cleveland would even buy the game if LeBron was on it lol...

Derrick Rose or LeBron. i'd like to see Dirk on a cover though.

LeBron's expensive and considering that 2K unloaded some $$$ for Jordan to be in 2K11, I really doubt they could/would get LeBron.

I don't really base anything on the cover, or on reviews alone, but I was interested on where you guys thought the series was heading. Based on what little has been said, I have a feeling 2K11 was somewhat of a gem.

What do you mean by not paying retail? I've "rented" my fair share of movies, but the way I see it, if a game is worth trying, and is enjoyable past an hour, it's worth the price of pay. To me that means not buying it second hand from places like Best Buy or Gametraders/Gamespot who not only burn the developers, but the people who originally bought the game, and the purchaser, but such is the way of business. Now if you're talking the PC version only, well, that's a different story entirely.

Peja Stojakovic I think it will be Derrick Rose,because he is really hot this season,plus he did commercials for 2K10 and 2K11.2K surely wants him on the cover,although it could possibly be someone from the Mavs if they win the championship or Heat.

Rose as well for the reasons mentioned above. I'm pretty sure he will be on the cover if he still has an active deal with 2k for promotion. Why choose another if they have the current MVP?
