Announcement time! I don't know how to begin this so bear with me.
This idea has been in my mind for a while and I have messaged specific people in the modding community for support (JaoSming and Aloncho) and I'm ready to announce it publicly. Remember all the work I do is for you, the players who went out to buy NBA 2k11 for the PC because you KNOW it's potential. The REAL NBA sim fans.
I call it, "iPrototype's Progressive Mod"
Now you may know I am working on the '86-'87 season mod, so once it is done and I post it up here you download it and load up "iPrototype's 86-87 Mod" roster in the game, enjoy it and have fun. All normal right? Now this is where I plan to revolutionize the modding community for all our 2k fans.
What if you want to play with Reggie Miller or Scottie Pippen (both drafted in '87) all you have to do is load up the roster file titled "iPrototype '87-'88 Mod"
What if you want to play with the first year Miami Heat or first year Charlotte Hornets? Go to settings and load up "iPrototype '88-'89 Mod"
What if you want to play with the first year Timberwolves or Orlando Magic? Just load up the "iPrototype '89-'90 Mod" roster file
What if you want to play with the Chicago Bulls that won their first ever championship for the franchise? Load up the "iPrototype '90-'91 Mod" roster file
See where I am going? I want to make it easier for ALL OF YOU and make the switching of a mod to be as simple as the loading of a roster. The roster(s) will have updated stats for each year (thanks to the amazing list by fifedawg) proper tendencies of players, accurate (as possible) shot styles for players and team tendencies. Apart from that, it will have updated CF's for each year (if needed of course) and accurate arena's, jersey's and logos for each year. All that you have to do is download the files, put them into your files folder and load up the roster and enjoy the game!
My plans right now are to release the '86-'87 mod first and soon after the following five seasons, I will be releasing in five season intervals. If you have seen me on NLSC a LOT during this past week it's because I have been doing a LOT of work, want to know how much? Let's just say I already have the base roster files with correct stats, lineup's and tendencies for the first six years done. All I need is moves and gear to call the roster file "complete" you know, apart from the CF's, Jersey's and Courts.
Is that it? NOOOOOO I have also decided to buy a domain name (a .com web address) and upload the files to my own server. The reason for this, COMPLETELY skip using any online downloading service (such as SendSpace or MediaFire) and just allow you guys to download straight from the server as fast as your internet allows you to. So the benefits from this are that you will not only have faster downloading times, but you will be allowed to download multiple files AT THE SAME TIME and not have to write any captcha's or passwords.
Now I must be done right? Not even close! (actually yeah I'm almost done lol) all this work is definitely a pain in the ass but again, I am doing it for you guys and ALL I want in return is just to post on this thread and leave a simple thank you. That's all, not even three seconds of your time and you'll show appreciation to the hardworking people on this mod...which brings me up to another thing, this isn't easy. By hard people I mean ME, I have an above-average grasp of CF's and could modify my headshapes to be accurate. The things I do NOT know is how to make courts, nor jersey's. I can learn how to and make them myself but it's going to be a bother and time-consuming as well. So if you can dedicate a bit of your time to this mod and would like to volunteer please send me a PM. You'll be credited accordingly as we make history with these mod's.
Is there anything else that I need to announce, hmmmm let me think... I guess that's it. To wrap it up, my vision is to release a season mod for every season between '86 and '11 (excluding the ones already out or in production). As I repeat, please just say thank you in this thread and wait while this idea becomes a reality.
Sincerely, iPrototype
