Nope, sorry. I'm afraid that would complicate things with the 2005-07 updates and above all would just be too time consuming. At this point, I'm not sure I'll be able to continue the rosters beyond this season so I'm afraid anything beyond updating the current NBA rosters is out of the question.

As I mentioned on Friday, I was hoping to get new roster updates for NBA Live 2005 through NBA Live 08 out as early as this weekend. The bulk of the updates are more or less done, however there are still a few unconfirmed jersey numbers for players who were traded at the deadline and talk of a few players that are expected to be waived/signed in the near future. As such, I would prefer to wait at least a couple of days so that I don't have to quickly release a new or repackaged version when that uncertainty is cleared up.

In any case, I anticipate having the rosters out this week; I can't say when exactly but hopefully that info will be made available within the next couple of days which will allow me to finish up the updates and get them out. I thank everyone for their patience and hope you understand that this slight delay is in the name of accuracy. Finally, since a couple of people are working on the All-Star jerseys and court, there's a chance I might be able to include them in the next release; if not, they'll be included as soon as possible.

what is the difference between using NLSC updates and TUP?
Are they the same or one of them has more features? TUP *seems* to have a lot of updates mentioned

In a nutshell, there is some common art and the purpose of both is to update NBA Live 08. TUP's roster includes some additional teams and there are some other extras including menu updates, new soundtracks and more. ANDREW, are you thinking about making a shoe update where there are a whole bunch of differnt shoes to choose from like the TUP11 shoes update??? beacuse i like to have a whole bunch od shoes for my players in NBA LIVE 08

I do not make shoe updates, so no, I won't be doing anything with them in future versions of the update.

Each of those files contains a text file which explains their purpose and usage.

Unless someone has made a batch file that will fix the assignments according to all the player/appearance IDs used in the NLSC update, you'll just have to fix the shoes manually player-by-player if you install any shoe updates.

i tried installing the shoe update that came with the TUP11 patch, some of the shoes show but the rest arent there!?!??!

Try copying the shoeacc.dbf file from the TUP rosters. Beyond that I cannot help you, as it is not an NLSC roster issue per se and I cannot (and will not) provide support when you start mixing and matching patches.

I've been keeping up with the transactions and jersey number changes this past week and with the Arroyo to Boston signing likely to be made official tomorrow, the rosters are almost ready for release. Until then, I'll be double checking some ratings, fixing some headshapes for the 2005 roster (please see this guide if you're interested in doing that yourself), seeing if I can fulfill a few requests for extras in the NBA Live PC Project for 06 and if they're finished in time, including the 2011 All-Star jerseys and court. As of this post, I have 2011 All-Star jerseys in place for the 07 and 08 updates but am still waiting on a court update and a conversion of the jerseys for 2005 and 06.

I'd like to thank everyone once again for your patience and understanding in waiting for the new rosters. I would've liked to have released the post deadline update a little sooner than this but I want to put an accurate update out there and with the time it takes to upload repackaged versions of the rosters these days, I'd prefer to get everything right and as up to date as possible before uploading as it means much less hassle for everyone.

I have a question. Once the new rosters are downloaded, how to you add created players, or free agents/retired players for use in dynasty mode?

Retired players will need to be moved from the Retired Pool (TEAM value of 32) to the Free Agents (TEAM value of 50). Note that the game trims the Free Agent pool to the top 50 rated players, so anyone you want to keep available for a new Dynasty will need to meet that criteria. You may want to move players to the Retired Pool yourself if you don't want them to show up ahead of someone else. Created players will either need to be assigned to a team or rated high enough to make the cut when the game trims the Free Agent pool; anyone on an NBA roster will not be pruned from the game upon starting a new Dynasty.

Finally, make sure you select "No" for the 2007 Draft option when starting a new Dynasty.

I love the 4.0 update, very accurate. Thanks so much for continuing to update the game, I know it must take a lot of work.

One question though, does this update affect or corrupt current (in progress) dynasties?

How do you edit the team standings in PLAY NOW mode? I mean when the intro overlay comes out then it shows the standings of the teams.
