Which version? Home Edition or Professional? Or use Win98 if you can find.

Just installed windows 7 Pro 32 bit and was having this same issue. Give this a try it worked for me :D No more ugly render mode (N)

pksts wrote:Well, i have Nba live 2000 installed on my laptop and i had the same problem as many of other users. I was able to play live only with software settings, but today i discovered a new way to play live 2000 in 3d settings without any crashing.

So do this:

1. Download NBA LIVE 2001 demo and install it to your computer!
2. Find dx7z.dll in the NBA LIVE 2001 main folder, rename it to dx6z.dll and copy-paste it to your NBA LIVE 2000/3rash folder overwriting the old dx6z.dll
3. Change NBA LIVE 2000 settings from software to your D3D Device (there is a folder setup in your nba live 2000 main directory, so open the 3dsetup.exe in that folder and change your settings)

That`s all.. Good luck playing! (sorry for my poor english  )

Hi.
When I was playing Live 2001, there is a bug. Until in-game, there are no problems. But in-game you can see only jerseys and the rim. Otherwise is black. At 1v1, you can see only jerseys. Otherwise is black.

Anyone help?

Is it possible to run NBA Live 2000 or 2001 on Windows Vista? Everytime I try to run Live 2001 on vista I get wierd colors on the necks of the players and the courts have these lines on them. I tried running it with compatibility to Windows 2000 and I get the same reaction

Have you tried using Software Rendering rather than Hardware Rendering? Seems to do the trick for some people.

Ah, that's right; 2001 doesn't have that option. Have you tried that solution joejam999 posted?

I realise that. Try it with NBA Live 2001, might as well try all the posted solutions.

Have you ran the 3DSetup? I just downloaded the demo and it worked fine. Try editing that 3dsetup.ini file. Maybe change the 3Dfx optinos to 0 and change Hide Resolutions to 0. You could also try compatibility mode for an older version of Windows.

Just some notes, if someone runs into the same problem in the future.

I managed to make NBA Live 2000 run on my old 3,2 Ghz PC with Radeon 9200 series graphic card (Benq M2700HD monitor).
The program was installed and is running on Virtual CD 6. Cause the built in Cd player is crap on that PC, but the CD is
bought and no cracked version.

dxdiag.exe (microsoft tool) was helpful and selecting software render via the Easport 3D configuration tool inside the setup dir
in the Nba Live 2000 folder. I dont run it in Win2000 mode.

Radeon 9200 has some issue with 3D rendering so selecting (Hw rendering) resulted in a kernel32.dll error when starting
the program. Have not managed to solved that issue yet, even though I did spend 5-6 hours with google to find solutions
and driver updates yesterday. Soft rendering + DirectX of a later version than on the game cd looks okay.

So now my old fantasy (1000 teams, 9 players per team) database is up and running again, after the old PC crashed a couple of
years ago. :D But it has not been updated since 2005, so I have some upgrading to do with new players.

Edit: Fixed the below problem now, I followed steps 1 & 3 here and the game is working fine now.

I can run NBA Live 2000 in Windows 2000 compatibility mode on XP but can't select higher texture graphics, those options are grayed out when I go to 'details'. I also have to choose Software render instead of the PC's graphics card which is ATI Radeon Xpress 200 Series. Is there a way to run the game so I can get higher resolution graphics as I can with NBA Live 2001 but there's more updates etc. for 2000, so I'd like to be able to play NBA 2000 with better graphics.

Find dx7z.dll in the NBA LIVE 2001 main folder, rename it to dx6z.dll and copy-paste it to your NBA LIVE 2000/3rash folder overwriting the old dx6z.dll

this will help.

I had some issue with the game freezing frequently, sometimes more often, with
the Radeon series video card (Hw rendering). Everytime I had to restart the program.

(Y) Then I discovered the resultion/video settings inside the program.

Switched to a higher resolution + checked the tripple buffer.

And now the freezing seems to almost disapear, touch wood.

Still get some blue screens from time to time though.

Okay guys I need help. I recently purchased a brand new copy of NBA Live 2000. Installed it on my laptop which has Windows Vista. Played with the compatability a little bit. When I go to play the beginning screen with the six players pops up and then disappears and a message that says NBA Live 2000 Executable has stopped working. Can anyone tell me what I need to do?

Have you tried tweaking the details + screen setting to a minimum?

When the game crashes when it starts to play, it might be something with
the graphic driver or configuration error for the teams.

Try softrendering also to see if that works?

In the game shortcut, I have set so that it shall execute in full screen and Win2000
compatible mood.

----------------------------

Also I got a crash or perhaps a hanging in the game once, that forced me to reboot
the PC. After that it complained the the game itself was bad. Then I had to
uninstall it + delete the nba2000 folder, after I copied parts of the database and
then install it into a new folder before it worked again.

Hi

You can try to download the latest graphic driver. :)

Also upgrade the DirectX.

Have you run the 3D utility that comes with the game? Where you set the Hardware/software rendering.

Do the lap top meet the minium requirements for running nba 2000 live?

I guess you have to check on the web if someone with the same kind of Laptop & OS have had problems
with other games crashing when they are starting up the graphics and if they found a way to solve it.

If you just use the original game database, that is originally installed with the game, then it is probably
not a configuration error.

Windows Vista is a virus in itself, IMHO.

I agree. One last question where would I locate the 3D utility to run it?
