Thunder sign former Blazer Matthews

Image

Oklahoma City have today signed guard Wesley Matthews to a deal reportedly worth $2.39m over 3 years.
The former Utah Jazz player was released by Portland during the recent off-season.
He is expected to compete with Acie Law as backup to Russell Westbrook at the point guard position.

Awesome way to end the Kings game, gamewinners don't come much more emphatic than that. Seems Horford's still struggling on the boards but a seven block game is nice. Good pickup in Matthews.

I'm hoping that he and Green can replicate what Oden and Aldridge did in my old Dynasty. 15-20 rebounds per game between them.

I'm considering my options via a trade, but for now I'm giving the team more time to gel. (Y)

Re: OKC - 2011 [6-1] Overtime in Utah + Easy win vs Pacers

Postby Andrew on Tue Feb 15, 2011 10:35 pm

Yeah, you don't want to make too many trades too early on in the season. I did that in my Bulls Dynasty at the start of the second year and it did mess things up a little, though I managed to sort it out with subsequent trades and sticking with the roster since.

Nice win over the Pacers, they were definitely outclassed in that one.

Brewer had a chance to tie the game with seconds left, but for some reason he shot a fade-away jumper into the back of the backboard when he was clean through to the basket. Pressing square half a step too early can cost you the game apparently. :(

Tough loss, especially getting screwed over on that attempt by Brewer. While the layup control was fairly intuitive in NBA Live 10, I found myself experiencing similar issues or otherwise attempting something that didn't make sense and I didn't want to do at that time.

Horford's rebounding is a bit up and down, but at least he is scoring and throwing in a few assists per game as well.

I'm playing Denver up next and luckily Nene just got injured. I'm expecting Horford to be able to out rebound Al Harrington. (Y)

It certainly wasn't a defensive game.

I wouldn't be surprised to see both Horford and Green grabbing a triple-double at some point this season. Green had a few last season.

Great numbers from Horford, shame about the blown lead though.

Great win, there was no looking back after that first quarter. Nice performances by Durant, Westbrook and Horford, who seems to be racking up the boards now.

Yeah, he's settling in pretty well now. I think I'm balancing out the scoring better now too.

I didn't even realise how far ahead I was until the quarter ended.
