Hughes can be useful with all the injuries you've had.
john26 wrote:nice that you got a veteran like hughes could probably come in and contribute right away

Warrick was also a force, but not as big as Nash or the Turk. Duncan had a collision against Houston and the commentators said something about an injury, but there's no signs of it when I edit the rotation. Thank God.

Hughes had a nice impact in his first game. Really nice numbers. You guys have no idea how much I hate Yao

Sounded like a frustrating game. Yao's 27-15 game is something us Rockets fans would drool over this season. :P

I see you moved up to All-Star difficulty. Maybe ease up sliders. Seems like you're between difficulties. Would suggest either Pro with harder sliders or All-Star with easier sliders :P

Good game by Hughes. In my D, the Jazz signed him and he is pretty much rockin with D-Will out, like 14/4 and 2 steals per game. Tough loss against the Rockets.

You're just like me ... what X said, between the difficulties. The only difference is that my team is a bit worse so I should not wonder too loose games. So to say ... win the next games !! :)

It actually was frustrating. Yao was a monster. I hate him :evil: I actually like how the Hughes experiment turned out. It's a lock for re-signing if he continues like this.

Suns and Rockets murdered me... I play against the Bobcats now, 1-5 record, if I lose by double digits will go back to Pro. At least I have Manu back, then Anderson. :bowdown:

Hitting bank shots. Dropping hooks. Making free throws. Dominating. For the first time in over a season, Yao was back; and the Rockets fans couldn't be more ecstatic.

YAOza! tough loss for SA but no way you could win if Yao's on fire like that (unfortunately can't happen IRL due to his 24 min/game limit :? )

River Walk Chronicles ♦ Thierry's Morning Coffee

    Weekly Rewind N° 2 • Heat, Yao, injuries, rumors and more...
    nba.com/spurs/morningcoffee | November 7th, 2010

    Image
    SAN ANTONIO -- Welcome to the latest installment of my “Morning Coffee” blog, Spurs fanatics. I have some more tidbits here in the table for us to discuss. I'm doing a weekly report with things that happened around the league, including: in my opinion, the most interesting game of the week; signings & waivings; POTW honors; injury report and trading rumors. Hope you join the discussion!

    Heat kill Timberwolves, go to league-best 7-0 • Behind balance and bench production, the Miami Heat reached to a league-high 7-0 record. Chris Bosh scored 34 points and 10 rebounds, Dwyane Wade added 26 and LeBron James 22 as the Heat took control early with a 40-point first quarter, cruising to a 124-91 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. With 41 points from its bench, Miami are up the Atlanta Hawks for the Southeast Division as the Hawks are 5-1. Jerry Stackhouse and Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 8 points apiece and Eddie House, Mario Chalmers and Carlos Arroyo all chipped in 7 points. “Our bench production was strong tonight,” Wade said. “We're going to need more from guys like Jerry and Zydrunas as we progress through the season. There are a lot of good teams out there. These guys want to go out there and play their best.” Former Heat Michael Beasley scored 22 points and 11 rebounds on 9/13 shooting and Martell Webster added 15 for Minnesota.

    Yao ready to talk contract extension • Houston officially can offer Yao Ming a contract extension now. At 12:01 a.m. today, the Rockets were able to offer the Chinese a contract extension. It is believed the team will initiate contact soon to formally present an offer, which can be an extension of up to three years. Yao has said he will consider an extension offer if it comes, which of course it will, but there is no rush. It is believed that in a few days, team GM Daryl Morey will host a dinner for him at one of his favorite restaurants in Houston to formally present the offer. With a lockout coming, most probably, re-signing with the Rockets financially appears to be the best route for Yao, and the team and his agent likely will brief him on that. The Rockets have made the loudest statement, however, by investing massively in the team over the past four seasons, including recent moves for Kevin Martin, Jordan Hill, Jared Jeffries, Courtney Lee, Brad Miller and Patrick Patterson.

    Kurt Thomas announces retirement • Chicago's forward/center Kurt Thomas stated today on press conference that this is his last season as a NBA player. Bulls management has yet to speak directly with Thomas about why he has made this decision; Thomas signed a $1.35M deal this summer with the Bulls. “I have loved every minute of me here. This are my last 6 months,” said Thomas. “Retiring is bittersweet as my happiest memories are with the game and the people who played with me. I’m looking forward to spending more time with my family when June comes, and I'll be mentoring the young basketball players who may need a voice of experience as they embark on their NBA careers.” Thomas has averaged 8.8 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 967 career games, and is averaging 0.2 points and 2.0 rebounds this year.

    Players of the Week • The Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durant and the Chicago Bulls' Derrick Rose today were named the Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played October 31-November 6. Rose led Chicago (4-1, 3rd in the East) to a 3-0 week, with triumphs against Portland, New York and Boston, averaging a whooping 38.3 points per game, to go with 2.3 rebounds and 7.6 assists, including a 50-point game in a 125-109 win over the Celtics. OKC also posted a 3-0 week, and lead the West with a 5-0 record, as Durant averaged 37.0 points per contest along with 11.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists. Durant also posted two double-doubles, in the wins over Utah (105-86, 39 pts., 10 boards) and the LA Clippers (94-91, 32 and 14).

    Injury report • Sorted by injuries with most duration, here you can check the full injury report. Minnesota's Corey Brewer suffered a broken ankle and will miss a month of games, while Charlotte's Boris Diaw (bone spurs), Philadelphia's Andre Iguodala (a strained MCL) and Portland's Joel Przybilla (severe ankle sprain) also must spend time on the sidelines. Iguodala posted the season's first triple-double in the 76ers' 115-101 win over Indiana on November 3, with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists.

    Trade rumors • Thunder general manager Sam Presti said he expects to speak with Royal Ivey's agent sometime soon after they conversed within the past week. But Presti insists that neither Ivey's agent, who didn’t return calls, nor the point guard has asked for a trade to find playing time he’s not getting in OKC. If a trade request is made, Presti said “he'd talk to them, but I’m not going to say I will trade anybody.” Reiterating that he supports coach Scott Brooks decision to bench Ivey, Presti insisted, “I’m not shopping him” and said no team has asked about Ivey’s availability, despite reports about interest from the Washington Wizards. Another name in rumors is Atlanta's Jamal Crawford, the reigning Sixth Man of the Year, who apparently told his teammates he is on his way out of the Philips Center.

    In other news, saying he’s “scarred” by this losing experience with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Mo Williams foresees only one way for the franchise to resolve the situation: trade him. Williams told ESPN that even if the Cavaliers made a major trade to upgrade their roster, he would still want to be dealt, despite being the leading scorer in the team with 22.7 points per game. “I’ve been scarred a lot these last couple of days. I’ve been handled in a lot of ways that I didn’t expect to be handled. I can’t see nothing that will change the way I feel right now.” Reports said OKC and Atlanta would be interested in acquiring Williams. Golden State's swingman Reggie Williams also appears on his way out of Oakland, with Miami offering point guard Carlos Arroyo. Other names in trading blocks include Minnesota's Jonny Flynn (interest from the Memphis Grizzlies) and Dallas' J.J. Barea (some media indicates Sacramento and Toronto made calls to Mavs' GM Donnie Nelson; the Raps reportedly offered Jarrett Jack in exchange).

Thanks a lot man. I know it has too many text, that's why I divided it into the different sections, you can read only the sections you want and not everything. Wall averages 16 points, two boards and five assists; Wizards are 2-3...

Game against the Bobcats coming tomorrow..

Splitter’s big night lifts Spurs past Bobcats, back on winning ways
Preview | Recap | Game Info | Full Play-by-Play | Boxscores (SAS :: CHA)

CHARLOTTE, November 8 -- Newcomer Tiago Splitter was unstoppable on both ends of the court. Splitter collected 13 points, 11 rebounds, two blocked shots and two steals as the San Antonio Spurs coasted to an 82-68 victory of the Charlotte Bobcats. A 6-11 forward-center with great leaping ability, Splitter posted all career-highs tonight. “They kept coming to the hole and I just tried to protect it,” said Splitter, who had incredible defense. “My timing was on tonight to contest their shots. That's just part of my game, I take pride in it.” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich added, “Tiago did a great job. Tonight we needed that. You need to have one guy like him to be in the paint and protect the basket. Just think of how many points they would have gotten without him.”

Charlotte led 6-0 when Manu Ginobili, returning from an injury, found Corey Maggette alone under the basket for an easy two-handed dunk with 9:03 remaining in the first period, igniting a decisive 27-6 run. “Corey was our X-factor. He not only gives us energy, but gives us a great offensive presence,” said Manu, who scored 16 points. Maggette shot 4/4 in the first period for 8 points, finishing the night with 12. Charlotte scored the first eight points of the third quarter to turn a 17-point deficit into a 9-point, but Larry Hughes and Splitter had an answer. The two combined for 12 points in a 14-4 run. Coming off the bench, Hughes put any hopes of a Bobcats comeback out of reach by nailing a jumper. “Tonight we just exploded in the first half. At the end of the game, we just had so many options,” said Hughes, who scored a season-high 14 points. “We had five guys who could shoot, dribble, pass. We moved the ball in defense and they didn't know what to do. They didn't know who to guard.”

It didn't help matters for Charlotte that forward Tyrus Thomas (12 points, 16 rebounds) committed a season-worst 5 turnovers, all in the first half, while shooting 6/13 from the floor; Gerald Wallace had a game-best 17 points but was the only other Bobcat in double figures. Stephen Jackson went on to play the entire second half, ending with only 8 points and five steals; he had no explosiveness. He made constant attempts with his crossover dribble to get to the basket, one of Charlotte's offensive strengths, but had his worst game of the season, only making 3 of 19 field goals. D.J. Augustin had 8 points in 3/15 field goals, a combined 6 of 34 with Jackson: .176%. A few Bobcats had decent numbers. Swingman Gerald Henderson added 8 points and forward Derrick Brown had 7 points, three steals and three rebounds, but when the game started to get out of reach (at one point, San Antonio led by 23), Wallace and Jackson tried to do too much and he and his teammates paid the price. “It's just that when things go bad, individuals try to do too much,” 'Cats coach Larry Brown said. This game was, without a doubt, the worst of the season so far in terms of 3-point shooting: a combined 1/21 (Gary Neal made the only one for the Spurs).

You might want to mess with the sliders a bit more, scoring % is too low for both sides (0-7/1-14 from 3? low 30s fgm?) as well as a lack of fouls - subsequently free throws

Thanks man, Tyrus was the best Bobcat. Crash was the scorer; Jackson and Augustin sucked badly. AND MANU IS BACK! :D

Yep, will do, a major tweak. Not many points lately, 3-point land is non-existent, not many fouls... :(

Gary Neal the unexpected hero; Spurs rally from 19-point deficit to top Clippers
Preview | Recap | Game Info | Full Play-by-Play | Boxscores (LAC :: SAS)

SAN ANTONIO, November 10 -- TNT sideline reporter Craig Sager walked to Tim Duncan to ask him about his feelings on this outstanding comeback win. “Tim, Jordan Player of the Game. Great rally to defeat the Clippers. How do you -- ” Sager couldn't finish his question as Duncan stopped him, “What are you doing here Craig? You should be talking to Gary. He was our savior.” Gary Neal, the 26-year-old rookie, with stops in Turkey, Spain and Italy, was the hero for the Spurs as he led two separate 11-0 runs to come back from a 19-point hole and score a career-high 24 points to defeat the Los Angeles Clippers, 106-99. “Gary has made more progress than I could’ve ever imagined to get where he is, and this quickly,” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. “I think Thierry has done a really good job with him, making him believe in himself. They've known each other for years in Europe. We thought that he could help us defensively, but his offense has exceeded all expectations.” Neal made 9-of-11 field goals, including a perfect 4-of-4 from beyond the arc, all in the second half as the Spurs rallied for the W.

“I think this just shows much faith my teammates and my coaches have in me,” Neal humbly said. “Tony, Manu and Tim just keep telling me that mistakes are just water off my back.” Larry Hughes, also off the bench, scored 16 points for the Spurs, who also got 14 points from Corey Maggette, while Duncan and Manu Ginobili added 12 points apiece. Ginobili shot a dismal 3-of-12 from the floor, and declared: “I must admit I was a little rusty, but I'm not going to worry about that for myself. I'm not really worrying about that; that will come around with time.” Hughes made a pair of 3-pointers early in the final period to start the second run for the Spurs, who shut down the Clippers offense for the first seven-plus minutes of the fourth and improved to 5-2. San Antonio shook off a terrible offensive night from Tony Parker, who missed two straight layups in the first five minutes of the game and finished with only 8 points, but a game-high 10 assists, but was key in defense as he held Baron Davis to single figures in scoring once again, with only 7 points.

The LA Clippers have been playing basically nine players because of the injuries to starters Eric Gordon and Blake Griffin. Randy Foye played 34 minutes and scored a season-high 24 points, while Chris Kaman and rookie Al-Farouq Aminu scored 13 each; this players being the only 3 Clippers scoring in double figures. Rookie Eric Bledsoe (all in the first half) and DeAndre Jordan added 9 points apiece for Los Angeles, who now stand 14th in the West, with a 2-7 record after starting the season 0-6. “We saw some guys dragging and a couple of bodies had bad games,” Clippers coach Vinny del Negro said. “The guys that were playing well I think ran out of some steam. I hope Eric and Blake can play soon, we need them as soon as possible if we want to have a shot at the playoffs.”

Thanks man. I think I've found the sliders, but in every game, there's something to fix. But I'm very happy with this results.
