1. Pretty sure it isn't, but it might be at the discretion of the statistician.

2. Uh...no. They'd probably assess a technical foul at least, the mascot would probably be ejected and certainly reprimanded (perhaps suspended) for interfering in the game and there'd be fines handed out. That'd be pretty bizarre though, not to mention a YouTube hit.

Veheme wrote:2nd Question: If by some random occurrence(again) a team mascot stole the ball and then dunked the ball during a game, will the team get any points? What violation can the referee call? (Name of violation)

Mascot Interference. But the team should be awarded a steal and two points.

Okay.

Another question: What happened to Kirilenko? I'm pretty sure I saw a statline that says like 20+ points, 8+ reb, 8+ assist, 7 steals and 5 blocks somewhere a year ago or two; also saw him leading team Russia well.

He's a tremendous all-around player and monstrous defender. He and Hakeem Olajuwon are the only two players that have scored at least 6 in points, rebounds, steals, assists, and blocks. Pretty crazy.

He's still very good although I'm not quite sure why he's declined a bit as he's not even 30 yet. He was most recently talked about during the 4 team trade idea to trade Anthony. If that goes through, then he will move away from the Jazz (he's been there almost a decade!) and go to the Nuggets as a replacement for Melo.

Okay sorry for many questions.

Moved from the Lakers thread.

QUESTION:

When Kobe retires, can you think of any player(overseas or not) or any prospect college player who his playing style closely resembles Kobe's? And can the Lakers get him after Kobe is gone?

No.

Here's my question... if I sign a rookie / sophomore and then assign him to a D-League team, does he still count as a roster spot? Can I have 15 players under contract and then, let's say, 4 players on the D-League affiliate with no problems?

Yes.

In answer to the second part of Thierry's question, each NBA team can assign a maximum of two first or second year players to their D-League affiliate.

How many players retired after winning a championship? Basically I'm curious who didn't retire after a loss or missing the playoffs.

Bill Russell and David Robinson are two prominent names that come immediately to mind. Michael Jordan could have, as would Bob Cousy if not for his brief comeback with the Royals.

Oh. Ok. (Y) But do these 2 players still count in team's roster? That's the most important part :P Because when I start the Spurs I want to have 15 players and then keep Cousin and Gist in the Toros.

As Lamrock said, they do.

:( I'll go with 13 and 2 then.

EDIT: Just checked in game. If you have a full roster and send a player to the D-League, it opens a roster spot, available for a new player. Might do the 15 & 2. :)

EDIT 2: From here...

In accordance with the NBA, the NBA Development League will implement a rule change with regard to how D-League rosters are assembled. Beginning this season, up to three players cut last from the roster of an NBA team before the D-League Draft will be allocated to that team's D-League affiliate provided they sign the standard D-League contract.

Why is it that the Clippers played on the Lakers' court? What I mean is the hardwood of the Lakers is set and the Clips wore white.

They had a 4-team tournament and I guess the Lakers were the hosts. (Lakers, Clippers, Nuggets, Jazz)

heres my question: if by some occurrence player a who is inside the three point line threw the ball to the hardwood outside the three point line and it somehow found its way to go in player a's basket would it be a two or a three?

I doubt the league has ever considered that for plenty of obvious reasons, the first being the laws of physics.
