Shooting threes is going to be pretty damn hard.
Well it like they say "ITS ON YOU!"

Thanks for the heads up.

It's definitely going to be an adjustment, as I've said before I can see myself spending a bit of time in the practice gym running through all the tutorials and getting a feel for the controls and playing quite a few exhibition games before I get into a Dynasty, more so than in previous years.

I really like this new total control. It seems authentic and very realistic.

There'll also be a "classic" control scheme that utilises the face buttons instead. You just won't have quite as much control, similar to trying to use Freestyle Control with a keyboard.

Yeah, have fun missing open shots Sauru.

As long as it's a matter of releasing the shoot button at the right time, the classic controls will be functional enough as they've always been; just less precise than the new controls are intended to be.

I think this game is gonna be better than we expect. . I was just playing Fifa World Cup Demo, and It's so polished. I'm sure Elite 11 is gonna be the same

The full game of FIFA World Cup 2010 is amazing! I won't change topics here, but we can discuss it in the Video Games Central.
Back on topic, I think I'm gonna like the new shooting mechanics. What I'm really hoping is that the CPU doesn't pull crap out of their ass to win.

I've been thinking about that and while that's still a bit of a concern at this point, I'm hoping that giving us more control over the shot will lead to less situations where we feel we've done everything right but still come up with a miss, only to have the CPU hit a difficult shot at the other end. In other words, hopefully with the new controls we can truly counteract anything the CPU does with skill and not be at its mercy as much as we were in the past.

In Live 10, I do everything, get a shooter open, get good penetration to the basket, draw contact, steal, offensive rebound, and the CPU pulls off something that just leaves me cursing at my TV. Ex: Running the break with Aaron Brooks, only to have a CENTER catch up to me.

Hopefully the speed differentiation takes care of the catchup issues. As for the rest, a combination of the new system and the increased user control will hopefully even the playing field.

That's the basis on EASPORTS Games LOL. You have to know how to play Defense, that's why I Loved NBA Live 06, You had to play D Or get blown out by the computer. I played a game on Live 10 yesterday, trying to somewhat emulate the new controls, and I think it's gonna work, giving you a lot of control like what we had when Live 95, 96 came out. I think it's going to be like those games, but with a lot better graphics.
Also, with the new controls, I think it's going to be easier to run half court sets quicker than before, with fast execution!!! I'm just going off what I seen in the video, but when they release 5 on 5 footage, I'll have a better idea

Well, that's been part of the problem in NBA Live in years gone by, certain games didn't really reward you for playing defense with the CPU deciding it was going to hit that turnaround fadeaway from thirty feet regardless.

I'm still a fan of NBA Live 06 too, I've still got an 06 Dynasty going which I'm sure I'll be picking up again before Elite 11 comes out.
How are you going about emulating the new controls in NBA Live 10? I'd be interested in giving that a go.

I'm just taking the idea that they gave us, you can't really play the game like that, so in the practice mode you see how you might pull it off in the next game. It's pretty much the same controls, except that you shoot with the stick. I played 2k7 and 2k8 so it's like a mix of playing NBA Live and 2k. Live always had the right stick as the dribble stick anyway. I think it wouldbe easier to get shots off with Elite 11 controls. Same way it was easier to get off a shot in 2k, but you would have more arsenal with Elite 11 (that's what they say). I think old users who been playing live will pick up the controls faster than they think!!!

Here's hoping, with on-screen displays, tutorials and the like we should have ample opportunity to learn and adjust to the new controls.
