2010 NBA Draft

Postby benji on Thu Jun 24, 2010 2:26 pm

Figured we might as well have one.

Chad Ford and Bill Simmons did their one-on-one mock draft again: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2010 ... ons-100623
Liked it more when it was in column form, and they insulted each other more though.

Might as well make the OP worth something, so here's a list of all the first round picks:
1. Washington Wizards - John Wall

I'm looking forward to tomorrow almost as much as the 08 draft. It's definitely an intriguing one, not so much in terms of the draft picks themselves, but it could very well prove to be extremely chaotic, in terms of trades, with everyone looking forward to next Thursday and the LeBronstakes.

Kings looking to take Cousins off the board at 5. Wouldn't be surprised though if the Wolves trade the #4 pick to someone else who might pick up Cousins.

As long as the Sixers draft Turner and hopefully he turns out to be a Brandon Roy (or better) type of player.

Apparently DeMarcus Cousins (16%) has a higher fat % than Michael Sweetney (14%).

I've got the day off work, heading over to sister's place since she's got Foxtel (ESPN), got the drinks ready, can't wait for some Jay Bilas' gems. I wish Stephen A. Smith was back, he was just great. I know a lot of people don't like him but when drinking, it's just hilarious. Bring back Stephen A. Smith.

Anyways, wonder how much Toronto & Chicago will screw up. It's bound to happen :P

realgm says the celtics are trying to trade perkin to get a lotto pick. guess they really dont like the fact that when him and rondo are on the floor the defense only has to guard 3 players. not sure who is the top 10 would want him and the 19th though..........

Hoping for the Mavs to get a draft trade deal or something.

There are many teams in need of Centers/Forwards, including the Rockets. Smart thing for them is to draft the best C available to be able to replace Yao Ming in case he gets injured this season.

Possible draft day deal :

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo reports the Pacers and Nets are discussing a trade that would exchange Danny Granger and the 10th overall pick for Devin Harris and the 3rd.

It would solve the Pacers PG troubles and will give them help down low with Favors or they replace Granger with Johnson.

C - Hibbert
F - Murphy
F - W Johnson
G - Dunlevy or Rush
G - Harris

The Nets would get a scorer and maybe they can lure a big like Boozer and trade Yi for a PG.

C - Lopez
F - Boozer
F - Granger
G - Lee or Terrence Williams
G - ?

Hoping for DeMarcus Cousins or an Al Jefferson trade.

Expecting Ed Davis and a shit second round pick.

Maybe Greg Monroe would be OK, but that doesn't make the Pistons much better.

Yi is supposedly part of the deal as well and then according to the report Pacers would take Favors. In my opinion, much better deal for the Pacers, 3rd pick > Granger (Although Granger is much more proven value, while whoever they would pick is still uncertainity, but personally I would rather have the 3rd pick), Harris > 10th.

Trade that actually will happen. (Hinrich + #17 to Washington). Fail to see any logic at all for this for the Wizards. Bulls raped them.

Love the Bulls/Wizards trade, just hope they can put that cap space to good use. Meanwhile, the Wizards shock everyone and select John Wall first overall.

Stuart Scott: "Why do you like him Jay Bilas?"
Jay Bilas: "Because he's a basketball player."

We're off to a great start.

Its weird to see "Head Coach" under Doug Collins' name. Also comforting to see the Nets maintain their status quo of being turrible by taking Favors over Cousins.

We're off to a great start.

Someone has to fill the vacuum of Stephen A. Smith.

Kwame Brown, Ron Mercer, and Keith Van Horn being mentioned. Wooooot!
