Thanks a lot man. My main concern is if I can keep it up with this, but I think I can handle it. :twisted:

Thanks man. You know what? I thought of adding the final score too but didn't find a good spot to. Check the Heat recap again, and tell me what you think. It looks better than before, IMO. :wink:

XxHyperDunk24 wrote:Pretty cool seeing Wade visit his former team to open up the season. Nice double-double from Haywood coming off of the bench, and solid win. (Y) I really like the video too.

Thanks. :) With Hibbert on quick foul trouble (3 fouls by mid second quarter), he stepped up, and glad he did, if not I had Mohammed :roll: The vids are my favourite part of all!

Anyone with thoughts about the Rudy-Henderson deal? Henderson had some nice preseason games, but, meh. :cheeky: And I would have a better backup in Rudy if Sefolosha is still out.

Preview | Recap | Boxscores (WAS :: IND) | Team Stats | Full Play-by-Play

For three quarters, the Pacers had Washington right where they wanted. Shots were falling, the defense was sound and, as a result, Indiana held a 17-point lead. Then the misses began to mount. The ball stopped swinging side to side. The Wizards’ defense locked in, its transition game took flight and, suddenly, Brian Fisher's team -- hired after Flip Saunders firing -- were soaring to the tune of a 25-11 run that irrevocably changed the game to a nail-biter. Indiana eventually won 104-97 thanks to a Danny Granger 3-point dagger and rookie John Wall scoring ten of his 17 points in the last period. “I don't know what it was,” said Wall. “We were right there, up by 21, until we started making mistakes and we were up by only 3. We definitely aren't moving the ball the way we wanted to and we are definitely struggling in that part, as it happened to us twice against Miami. It's a little frustrating.”

Making it all the more aggravating for players and coaches Reggie Miller and Thierry Tirieux, was the fact that Indiana largely held its own with the Wizards for all the night, but that dreadful almost eight-minute stretch. The Pacers were a solid rock in the first three quarters, something which had proven to be a bit of a bugaboo the past years for the club, and also kept their turnovers to a minimum -- only Dwyane Wade had more than 2, Wall didn't have any -- thereby limiting Washington’s opportunities to score in transition. Gilbert Arenas' team managed to get within 3 points near 2:34 left in the fourth quarter, only to see the Pacers pull away once and for all with a Granger 3-pointer. With Arenas scoring 34 points and eight assists, and Josh Howard contributing 18, Washington didn't have an answer for that last Pacers' surge. Indiana is emphatically showing they are becoming one of the top teams in the NBA, despite their problems holding on to their 20-point leads.

“The end of the first half just really hurt us,” admitted Wizards' Troy Murphy, a Pacer last season. “It wasn't a tight game until the last quarter. Then they went on that run at the end of it and killed us with that 3 by Danny. We could never break through in the first half.” The loss was Washington’s second in a row, starting the season 0-2, a reality which has them scrambling for answers in order to snap out of their slump. Meanwhile, Wade was self-criticizing: “We kind of kept the ball on one side instead of moving it from side to side and we missed some easy shots too. With them being able to switch everything we did in the start of the last quarter, that leaves room open for other things. They got out and ran. We've just got to figure out how to do other things when teams are able to play like that,” he said. “We just broke down. That was a stretch where every team in the NBA has times during the game where the opposing team goes on the run. I guess we should check the video and see what really happened. It's hard to say right now, but we're professionals so we should be able to get through this.”

GAME NOTES
• Wade -- despite 5 turnovers, 4 of them charging fouls -- and Brandon Rush added 16 points each for the Pacers, while Granger only had 6 points, proving that last 3-pointer was a miracle;
• Wizards' rookie from Lithuania, Donatas Motiejunas, posted 2 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in 7 minutes;
Roy Hibbert earned POTG honors with 15 points, six rebounds and five blocks. “They give us a big scare in the preseason. They are a hard working team and we knew we had to be ready with our intensity. Gilbert started off on fire, but then we tightened up our defense,” Hibbert said (Arenas had 32 and nine assists in the preseason game between the teams);
Nick Young, who suffered a twisted ankle against New Jersey, showed no signs of it and scored 16 points in 36 minutes for Washington.

Good win. Its weird to see Wade not dominating but I guess now he's got good teammates so he can sit back and relax a little.

You could tell by that game that it's going to be very difficult to figure out how to consistently spread the scoring between Wade, Granger, and Wall. I would consider trading Granger for an all-star caliber big man in the future. :cheeky: The Wizards need to give Blatche and McGee a lot more playing time though. (N)

Yep, he's got some time to relax. I'm thinking of making some deals, but nothing's sure.

Might trade Granger but it's not very likely. Both Hibbert and Haywood are doing a great job so far. When one of the Big 3 is cold, the other two just play huge, just look :wink: Wade 21, Granger 19, Wall 8 at Miami, Wall 17, Wade 16, Granger 6 vs. Wiz. It's just a thing of knowing, when they miss a lot of shots, who's cold so I focus the scoring with the other two.

Also, some news. This are the guys who signed for the NCAA Tourney. New teams were added in the mod 2.0 -- Baylor, Butler, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Kansas State, Tennessee, Washington and Wisconsin -- so if anyone wants to change school, tell me now because the NCAA starts its regular season around mid-November (I'm getting there soon). I'll do it in a 58-game season and then make playoffs like March Madness and doing a small recap when one of you has some good action. Obviously, if anyone wants to join now, go ahead; application is on Page 4.

    Trail Blazers Insider :: The Memphis Grizzlies were blown out big and blown out early in the Blazers last game. Nate McMillan's squad rolled to a 24-point lead at halftime, and then lit up the scoreboard with 61 points in the second half for the W, 117-85. Overall, Memphis didn’t play terrible -- they shot 43.6% for the game -- but nobody wanted to play defense and 10 turnovers in the first half didn’t help. “I liked the way we played for 48 minutes,” McMillan said. “We didn't have any lulls like we have seen in the past. We stayed at a high level the whole game.” No one wanted to step up big on either end of the floor and the absence of any leadership whatsoever in Memphis diminished their chances of slowing down the Trail Blazers, especially in their second half marathon. LaMarcus Aldridge scored 24 points, while Greg Oden added 22 and 11 rebounds and Brandon Roy contributed with 21 and eight assists for Portland. Rudy Gay led the Grizzlies with a game-high 25 points, Zach Randolph posted 18 and 11 boards, and first pick overall Evan Turner shot 5/12 for 12 points. Rudy Fernandez, who was placed in rumors being traded to the Pacers, had a solid night with 12 points and went 3/6 from three point land. “I wish I could blame everything on the first half,” Turner said. “I don't think we came out and played hard from the beginning of the ball game. I was disappointed with our effort throughout the entire ballgame.” Portland is 3-0, leading the Western Conference and fourth in the NBA.com Power Rankings, and Oden is fourth in the league in rebounding (10.3 RPG). Mike Miller, a Pacer last season, is averaging 6.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game, which means he could post a triple-double soon.

    Pacers Insider :: Pacers forward Danny Granger was quick to remind that there are no quick fixes about the team's problems, but he remained steadfast in his belief that his team will turn things around -- a sentiment echoed by his teammates in the locker room after the win over Washington. “We have to find a way to maintain those big leads. We are who we are. In two games, we have seen an almost 20-point lead go away, three times,” he said. ”It’s going to be up to each individual from myself on down and all the way through the team to figure out, ‘What can I do to delete that?’ Because that’s all it takes and then suddenly you get in a rhythm and you’re going the other direction. So we’re going to try to get a breakthrough in the next game against the Blazers. We just have to stay with it and stay together. No one said it was going to be easy.” Mental toughness is the key coach Reggie Miller has been harping before every game. This team continues to breakdown every game just all of a sudden when one or two bad things happen: a 20-point lead down to a deficit, three times in two games. Somebody needs to step up and anchor this team through those stretches.

    In other news, the Indianapolis Star is also reporting that “Rudy Fernandez might be in his way out to Indianapolis. The Pacers would send Gerald Henderson to Portland in exchange for the Spaniard and the Blazers' 2011 first round pick”, as The Oregonian reported a few days ago. Still no timetable return for Thabo Sefolosha and other news indicate it might be serious than the Pacers medical staff thought.

    Key Matchup: Brandon Roy vs. Dwyane Wade

    X-Factors: Rudy Fernandez / Udonis Haslem

I think you would win with that trade. I don't see Henderson seeing constant time behind Wade and Rush. Fernandez can contribute too and might as well get a pick, probably a crappy one but still.

I'm using Henderson as Wade's backup and Rush as Granger's, I'm not very happy with Hansbrough, so he's in the trading block. I was thinking of doing Henderson + A.J. Price for Fernandez and a first round pick, instead of a second round's.

Dwyane Wade and Danny Granger were the best All-Stars on the court. Wade scored 29 points and Granger added 27 as the Indiana Pacers extended their unbeaten run with a 121-91 rout of Brandon Roy and his Portland Trail Blazers. Having just scored 6 points against Washington, Granger found his rhythm early in this one en route to a big night and didn't press the stop button: he scored 18 of his 25 points in the second half, and 11 of those 18 in the second quarter, where the Pacers had a 9-1 run, opening a 57-45 lead. The superstar from New Mexico went 12/15 from the floor overall while adding two assists and three rebounds. “I needed this,” Granger said. “I've been struggling offensively the last few games. I put in some extra work in practice yesterday and it paid off.”

Flash gave Granger plenty of help in keeping the Pacers the hottest team in the East; he made 11/12 shots in 33 minutes and added eight rebounds. Sparked by their two best players, the Pacers improved to 3-0. Not only did Wade dominate: he opened things on the outside, and had two buzzer-beaters, the one closing the first half and another one ending the third quarter, as the Pacers went 10/15 from 3-point range. They missed 9 of their 13 attempts from the arc in their game against the Wizards. “It's all about reading the defense and making the extra pass,” Wade said. “My teammates get to the spots, and I trust them.” Indy made five straight shots in a 9-2 run late in the third quarter to open a 16-point lead. With the Blazers hanging around, Granger hit back-to-back 3-pointers as the Pacers pushed the lead to 93-71 with 10:34 left in the last period. “Dwyane and Danny played pretty well from the outside and making my man move over to help, so I had a lot of open shots from 10 or 11 feet which I couldn't make. That's a shame, it could have been an even bigger lead,” Udonis Haslem said; he had six points and seven rebounds, but shot 2/10 from the field.

Brandon Roy and Mike Miller had 22 and 18 points, respectively, for Portland, who shot 42.6 percent (35/82) overall. “This is just a huge Indiana Pacers squad,” Blazers coach Nate McMillan said. “They execute and take a lot of pride in their defense with this revamped team. Reggie is doing a heck of a job.” Indiana, which squandered a 20-point lead in both its previous wins, had its lead in this one reduced not less than 10 points after halftime. Brendan Haywood blocked a shot by Jerryd Bayless, then was fed by John Wall for a layup, and after it Wall scored a 3-pointer for a 111-80 cushion; Wall added 16 points, three steals and seven assists for Indiana. “We were slow to the ball in the second half,” Blazers center Greg Oden said. “We got it back to ten points, but they kept scoring and then we were down by 25. They were flying.”

• While Wade and Granger shined, the Blazers received a solid effort from just “one” of their All-Stars as Roy scored 22 points on 7/17 shooting. Blazers fans are already lobbying for Oden -- 16 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks -- to be in the All-Star Game in February, as Oden is fourth in the league in rebounds per game and his defense has proved to be a valuable asset for the team: www.odenspenisintheasg.com;
• New 2010/11 Blazers, James Posey -- acquired from New Orleans in exchange for Andre Miller -- and Renaldo Balkman -- from Denver in exchange from Jeff Pendergraph -- had 2 points apiece;
• Both teams shot over 90 percent from the free throw line: .904% for Indiana (19/21) and .937% for Portland (15/16);
• Haywood posted his second double-double in three games for the Pacers, with 10 points and 11 rebounds, and also added four blocks.

    Pacers Insider :: Thabo Sefolosha is healthy from a left knee tendinitis and ready to help the Indiana Pacers make a push toward a good playoff seed. His new teammates, though, might need some time to ready themselves for this defensive specialist. Indiana has held their three past opponents to less than 100 points, and it's a good feeling. The flashy swingman could have made his Pacers debut tonight in the visit to New Jersey, but player development coach Thierry Tirieux decided not to risk Sefolosha and let him rest for one more game. The 25-year-old Sefolosha was signed on August by the Pacers from Oklahoma City. Teamed with John Wall, Dwyane Wade and Danny Granger, Sefolosha hopes he's enough to help Indiana (3-0) earn its first playoff seed since 2005-06. “I want to be the piece that gets us over the rest,” said the Swiss, who's averaged 4.2 points and 4.5 rebounds last year with the Thunder. “I've been recognized as a defensive standout in this league, but I haven't accomplished my No. 1 goal and that is to win a championship. You know what they say, offense wins games but defense wins titles.”

    “We think he is going to fit with exactly what we stand for here,” Tirieux said of Sefolosha, who suffered a left knee tendinitis in a practice before the Pacers' preseason opener. “It's all about winning and being in the big dance, the playoffs, at the end of the year. Those are his goals along with ours. I don't think we're going to sit here today and make any grand promises, but everybody knows our goals.” With Sefolosha not on the court in this contest, his last one on the inactive list, Pacers' Big 3 will try to open the season with four straight wins. Wade and Granger combined for 56 points in Indiana's 121-91 win over Portland yesterday. “The first game against Miami we had a good lead and they came back on us, twice. Against the Wizards it happened again. We wanted to come out of that slump with a nice win and get ready for tomorrow, and that's exactly what we've done against the Blazers,” Wade said. “We've had a problem holding big leads all this past games. I think recently we've been able to establish ourselves as a team that can hold a lead. Our defense is better now. The main thing is we can't get comfortable because we still have a long way to go.” The Pacers will also use for their first time, their new 2010/11 away jerseys.

    Nets Insider :: Finishing 34-48 last year, the New Jersey Nets were in need of a roster shakeup; they hope their new forwards can be the answer. New Jersey is off to its best start in three seasons as they have won 3 of their first 4 games, but the team hopes their newest acquisitions will help turn things around even more. The Nets received Luc Richard Mbah a Moute in a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks for Chris Quinn on the offseason, signed Quentin Richardson to 4-year deal and also drafted North Carolina's Ed Davis with the 8th overall pick and Jerome Dyson in the second round. New Jersey is looking for Mbah a Moute and Richardson to fill the hole left by Chris Douglas-Roberts, who averaged 16.9 points and 5.3 rebounds last season with the Nets before signing with Chicago in August. Thankfully, Richardson's almost doubling the stats he averaged with Miami last year: 11.0 points and 6.3 rebounds to 6.6 and 3.6; the former DePaul star has career averages of 11.1 points and 4.8 rebounds over eleven seasons. “He's good for us now and in the future. It was something we felt like we had to do with a weak frontcourt,” Nets coach Kiki Vandeweghe said. “Other than Brook Lopez and Devin Harris, we probably don't have a guy who can be dominant in any given game. Luc, Quentin and Ed are pretty proficient in the low post. Brook is a great complement to all of those guys.”

    All this new players came in handy on Tuesday, as they faced the Dallas Mavericks (2-2). The Nets raced to a 12-point lead at halftime and ended up winning by 29, 106-77. Mbah a Moute hit the last basket of the game with 20 seconds left, and finished with 8 points and 16 rebounds. Harris had a game-high 35 points and 10 assists to go with four rebounds and three steals, while Lopez was dominant in every meaning of the word, with 22 points, 21 rebounds and 4 blocks in 7/14 shooting. Richardson had 6 and 7 boards in 34 minutes. It's not known if former Tar Heel, Davis will be available as he suffered a broken finger in the Nets' 99-85 loss against Philadelphia on October 31, but it's certain that Kris Humphries, with a strained achilles, will miss at least a month of action. With both power forwards out, rumors of Indy's Tyler Hansbrough being traded there for a future draft pick increased; Hansbrough would have an instant impact with the Nets at small forward, Richardson as the team's sixth man, with Mbah a Moute starting at PF.

    Key Matchup: Roy Hibbert vs. Brook Lopez

It's strange to see the Nets doing as well as they are, when it seems as if their team hasn't improved talent-wise from last season. Good luck, and I can't wait to see your new away jersey in action. (Y)
