Chapter 11

“Sir we just got to admit it that he is not our player and the way things are doing right now the team might fall to Kahn’s hand.” Kamla pleaded to his boss Glen Taylor. “I know but our fans love him and he is our main ticket seller.” Taylor said. “But sir the way he plays right now is telling me that he doesn’t want to stay in our team and besides we got another main man in John Wall.” “What do you propose then Rick?” “Well I have some moves in my mind, all I need is your approval sir.” Okay you got my permission, you’re the brain of this team just make sure you do the right thing.” “I assure you sir I won’t disappoint you.” Kamla said.

After the discussion the league was shocked by a major trade. Minnesota sent their two key players Jonny Flynn and Al Jefferson for Philadelphia’s Andre Iguodala. The media were all asking why send Flynn why not some scrubs to go with Jefferson. Kamla answered them smoothly, “I just cannot see Flynn be a back up for Wall, Flynn is a great player and he will get his minutes in Philly. For now this is a new era for the Wolves, get ready to run with the pack.” Rick just leaves the media ending his interview. Upon leaving he noticed someone, the man is laughing very hard and said “What the fuck are you thinking Kamla, trading your two best player for a scrub like Iggy. Haha, just give me this fucking team I can tell this is a bad move.” “What do you care Kahn, this is my team just wait and see.” Kamla said. “Oh I’ll wait alright, I’ll wait for this team to go to me. Remember Kamla you only have one year to make this team a contender or else it will be mine.” Kahn said while he left Kamla standing….

“Rick! Rick! Hey man wake up.” Kurt Rambis snapped his fingers as he talked to Kamla. Kamla was shocked, he looked around and saw Rambis starring at him. “Hey man what’s wrong with you, the parade is about to start.” Rambis said. Rick was day dreaming, he was thinking that scene. That scene that started the changed for his beloved Wolves. After the Iggy trade the Wolves went to the playoffs as the 7th seed but they make it all the way to the conference finals. From the moment the team seems to be a contender. At the start of the offseason big names are on the free agent pool, having reached the conference finals Amare Stoudemire signed with the Wolves. The season starts good with the Wolves, Derrick Favors turn out to be a great player despite being bench last season and John Wall became a superstar just in his second year. Iggy fits perfectly to the team and Amare is just Amare. The bench composed of Travis Outlaw, Julian Martin, Ramon Sessions and Tyler Hansbrough all contributed. The Wolves finished the season tied with the best record and Coach Rambis won the COY award. They steamrolled past their opponents until they got to the finals against Philly which they dominated. Minnesota won their first championship and more importantly the team will not move to Vegas.

As Kamla was thinking about the past two years he went outside the arena and saw 5 huge trucks waiting for him. “Hey sir Kamla, come on and get up here the parade will about to start.” Tayshaun Prince said. All of the staff and players are wearing a shirt that says “2011-2012 Champions Minnesota Timberwolves.” With a help from Prince, Kamla gets in the truck and the championship parade starts. Fans are all shouting throwing confetti’s, all of them are so proud with the team. As the team arrived at the Target Center all of the staff and players were introduced. The announcer called the team captain Tayshaun Prince to talk. “Well this had been quite a journey for us, but we would not have done this without the support of all Wolves fans.” The crowd was all cheering then the announcer called the Finals MVP John Wall. “Hello there my fellow wolves, as our captain said we couldn’t do this without your supports but we should not take the honor for this success. The man who made us a champion, who trained us a champion our head coach Kurt Rambis. Show him some love people.” The crowd gave Rambis a big applause. “Okay that’s enough.” Wall said. “Now give some love to this guy, the man who created this team, the man from Minnesota, our GM Mr. Rick Kamla.” Everybody claps their hand and the crowd are all shouting Rick’s name, John Wall gave the mic to Kamla. “Thank you Wolves freak fans, I personally thank you guys for giving me a chance. Who would have thought that a freak fantasy basketball guru will be a great GM right?” “Yeah this year I gave you champions but I merely put this players, it’s the staff that molds them. It’s the players who work hard for this feat. But after this parade 29 freakish teams wants our trophy. Our journey will not end here, our quest is not over. For now I gave the City of Minnesota champions but after this celebration and for the coming years. I will give this City a dynasty caliber team, so everyone get ready and run with our pack.”

Well playing behind Kobe Bryant and Derrick Rose while sharing minutes with Farmar. I'm sure you will not get a lot of playing time unless you want to be traded?

Expectations are high for John Wall|Kidd will be the leader off the bench

Coming from a 60-22 record last season, which resulted for the Wolves to get their first NBA Championship. Now as the defending champ they will to work twice as hard last season. GM Rick Kamla could have not said it any better that 29 teams wants to get hold of the trophy. Loosing three key players surely made a huge hole for the team.

Travis Outlaw averages 10 PPG last season, Chuck Hayes and Anthony Morrow were key players in the Finals as well. In the offseason the team signed Australian center David Andersen and the athletic swingman Jamario Moon. Andersen will be a solid backup for Amar'e and Moon will be a great energy guy off the bench. But their biggest signing is Jason Kidd, the future Hall of Famer guard looks to get his first ring. "He will be a great mentor for our young guys and he will also bring leadership and a nice locker room presence for the team. We our blessed to have him." Coach Rambis said. Kidd might found himself sharing some minutes with Ramon Sessions as they play both positions.

With these offseason moves the Wolves clearly have the talent to win it again.John Wall has already distinguished himself as a superstar. Amar'e Stoudemire is monster down low, Tayshaun Prince blends great with this team while Derrick Favors is still a solid starter at the 4 spot. Andre Iguodala can still score 30 in any given nights and Kidd,Sessions and Martin provides depth for this team. The team's only problem is their health, as showed last season only Wall and Outlaw played the full 82 games. Hopefully they will not run into major injury problems this season.

Overall this team is fun to watch, a young team with very athletic players will surely attract fans. All they need to do now is to show that last season is no fluke. They still have lot to proved and if they don't lose their focus to their goal, it will not be long for the City of Minnesota to see another victory parade.

Re: United We Run |VS Wesley Johnson

Postby dare on Sat Apr 03, 2010 1:27 pm

Johnson's 29 not enough to carry the Pacers

Image
Iguodala goes for reverse dunk

October 30,2012
Minnesota Boxscore | Indiana Boxscore

Indiana (AP) - Wesley Johnson scored a game high 29 points but he needed 25 shots to do it. "We really checked him out, I'm glad that my players did a pretty decent job against him." Coach Rambis said. "But I don't like what happened in this game, surely we can do better."

The Timberwolves were up 36-17 going to the second quarter then the real fight began. The Wolves got careless with the ball and they give the ball away 13 times during the second and third quarter. The Pacers have reduced the lead 65-72 entering the final quarter. It was a battle to the end, shot after shot went it as both team scored 30+ points in the fourth.
