Thanks for the support guys, Chicago is my all time favorite as some of you may know, so there's no way i'm going to not do one, especially since my last stint with the Bulls was ended via corrupted file :?

Side Note: I just noticed that my retired Association Road to Glory has the stats of 781 posts and over 12100 views, which is just 2900 views behind The X's Bronze category. I was hoping that with enough support we could get Andrew to pin this below Sit's Platinum Category association story A Legend is Born II. At least until an Association Story Hall of Fame opens up.

What do you guys say? :P

i'll always have a special place in my heart for the Bulls; though you won't quiet have the magic of when #s 23 and 33 dominated the game, hope you can bring them back to the title (Y)

A Bulls dynasty. Can't say that I am surprised by this choice. :P

As for sticking your story, we should let Story Guru Lamrock decide. :)

I certainly hope that's the case (Y)

If they are gone alongside the expirings, I'll have only 5 original guys left?

2009-10 Chicago Bulls: A Disastrous Season in Review
April 17th, 2010

Image

Just a season ago, the Bulls went on a roll after making deadline trades and powered their way into the playoffs, pushing the-then defending
champion Boston Celtics to the brink of elimination in one of the most electrifying first round playoff series of all time.

Now, they are all going to be waiting at home watching 16 of the NBA's top teams chase the Larry O'Brien trophy.

The Bulls came into the 2009-10 team as an Eastern Conference playoff contender, a talented young team that were expected to take their
collective game to the next level. However, Trades made by John Paxson and Gar Forman had molded them in preparation of the upcoming
Free Agent class instead of playoff contention.

As a result, Chicago had a "repeat" of the 07-08 season, finishing with another 33-49 record en-route to the 14th spot in the Eastern Conference
despite having produced two All-Stars in last season's rookie of the year Derrick Rose and a rejuvenated and healthy Luol Deng.

The Bulls were never expected to have great offense after the departure of Ben Gordon, and it was evident, as they only scored 96.1 points
per game - which was more then expected already; But what is the biggest concern was their Defense, which was thought to have been improved
with Gordon's departure. However, since Salmons got traded to the Milwaukee Bucks for more expiring contracts, the Bulls were forced to go small
once again with Hinrich starting at the two guard, which allowed their opponents to pound on them each and every time.

Additionally, their offensive execution has been horrendous. Chicago is tied for 3rd highest turnovers at a staggering rate of 15.4 per game, add
that to a team that doesn't particularly shoot well in the first place, and you've got yourself a recipe for disaster.

John Paxson better be praying that the lottery balls bounce his way and those big names will be attracted by what the city has to offer, because if
his gamble fails, the Bulls are in for a long, long season.

2010 NBA Playoffs Recap
Image

It was a repeat of the 2008 Finals, and the defending champions Los Angeles Lakers finally got their shot at vengeance.

Behind Kobe Bryant's spectacular performances, the 2010 Los Angeles Lakers will go down in history as only the ninth team ever to come back from a 1-3 deficit, and becomes the sole team to do so in the NBA Finals.

The Lakers overcame an elimination game in the first round against the surprisingly tough New Orleans Hornets led by Chris Paul, before easily dispatching the Rockets and sweeping the Jazz in the later rounds to reach the finals for the third straight season. Similarly, the Celtics had it rough in the first round with Dwight Howard's Orlando Magic before cruising to the finals, defeating Miami and Cleveland in the process.

Kobe Bryant averaged 32.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 2.4 steals and 0.8 blocks per game in the finals, shooting at just over 50% from the field (.503) along the way.

"It was just a strong desire to defend our crown" stated Bryant after the series "We just wanted it more and prove to the world that we are the best team in basketball, and Boston isn't going to be a factor in preventing that"

Bryant was named the Bill Russell Finals MVP for the second consecutive time.

Me too, if he doesn't exercise his damn player option (like they all do in 2K9) or resign with the team before hitting FA (N)

Bulls, Forman Sever Ties. Paxson appoints new General Manager.
June 5th, 2010

Image
The Chicago Bulls have announced the firing of General Manager Gar Forman. Effective Immediately.

Forman joined the club as a scout in 1998, a position he held until June 2002, when he was promoted to Special Assistant to
Executive V.P.-Basketball Operations. He was introduced as the Bulls General Manager on 21st of May, 2009. Taking over day
to day operations from Vice President of Basketball Operations John Paxson.

Taking over Forman's post is 18 year old Hong Kong/New Zealand native Leo Lai, who was widely speculated to have been in
line for the Bobcats' vacant assistant General Manager position. Negative publicity targeted at Bobcats owner Michael Jordan's
executive abilities was rumored to be a big factor in the failed deal. Rumor has it that Lai was hired by Paxson at the
recommendation of the Hall of Famer and former Bull legend.

Additionally, it has been reported that head coach Vinny Del Negro will be on a very short leash and could be fired any time in
the upcoming future.

Oklahoma City defy odds, Wins lottery

The Oklahoma City Thunder entered the lottery with a mere 0.6% chance of landing the top pick.

They got it anyways.

Defying odds, the Thunder literally stole the top pick away from the league-worse Minnesota Timberwolves and will pick
before any other team on draft night.

Minnesota ended up with the second overall pick while the Chicago Bulls bounced up a slot from their predicted fourth
selection to obtaining the third overall pick. Rounding out the top five is New Jersey picking fourth and Sacramento Kings
dropping two slots down to fifth.

"Talk about getting lucky" said Thunder forward Kevin Durant, who was representing the team at the lottery "We would've
been happy if our pick jumped up a few slots, but to think we'd get the first pick...it's just amazing"

Durant is coming off a MVP-caliber season and has turned himself into one of the most proficient scorers in the league
today. Alongside Russell Westbrook, James Harden, and Jeff Green. The Thunder has a solid young core that's only going
to improve dramatically with this first selection.
