Oklahoma City Thunder [7-1] vs Milwaukee Bucks [3-5]

Green leads Thunder to win over Bucks

Image

The Bucks came to Oklahoma to face off against the red hot Thunder who 2 nights ago sent King James and co back to Cleveland with nothing.
Full of confidence after that performance, the Thunder dominated early in this match leading 53-36 at the half.
The third quarter was a scrappy affair with both sides failing to convert their chances. Thunder lead 67-46 with one to play.
The scoring picked up in the fourth but the Thunder managed to outscore the Bucks and easily win by 22 points.
Jeff Green had a season high 34 points. Ben Wallace posted 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in his best performance of the year.

Sure is. He's been solid without being spectacular so far :) Nice to know when Durant or Gay have an off night Green can step up.

If I change from All-Star to Superstar then I'd probably quit from frustration because I'd lose every game

I've been playing on All-Star for a while and this is the best run of games I've had.

Oklahoma City Thunder [8-1] vs New Jersey Nets [4-6]

Thunder overcome early scare to beat Nets

Image

On paper this game seemed to be a pretty easy task for Oklahoma City, but in reality they were pushed all the way by the Nets.
New Jersey came out firing in the first and lead 23-16 at the first break. The Thunder clawed back the lead and lead by 3 at the half.
The Nets got a quick start in the third but rookie center BJ Mullens came off the bench to score 13 points and rescue the Thunder.
The 7 ft tall first year player was too much to handle for the Nets defence with his speed and offensive rebounding.
Kevin Durant and Rudy Gay both were down on scoring compared to their season averages, but both contributed to the cause.

Great wins man, but as dare said, you should play a few games on Superstar and if it doesn't work go back to All-Star

I might give that a go for 1 game. Playing 76ers next so if I can't beat them on Superstar I'll switch back.

Superstar difficulty is pretty unforgiving. If you start blowing out everyone you might want to consider upping the difficulty or tweaking the sliders a bit to keep things from getting boring but I certainly know where you're coming from. All-Star's still giving me a good challenge in NBA Live 10, particularly post-patch.

Well I certainly didn't buy the game to lose every time. I'm not getting bored playing on All-Star. It's still a challenge for me to win games.

In real life they're on a 9 game winning streak including teams like Denver, Atlanta and Portland. So this really isn't as unrealistic as you may think.

Harden comes off the bench a fair bit. His three point shooting isn't quite as reliable as in real life though :|

Oklahoma City Thunder [9-1] vs Philadelphia 76ers [4-7]

Iverson buzzer beater steals win for 76ers

Image

The 76ers came to Oklahoma looking to beat the team with the best record in the league.
For the first three quarters they failed to get close to the Thunder and trailed by 14 with one to play.
Amazingly in the fourth the Thunder seemed to go to sleep defensively and let Philadelphia back into the game.
Trailing by 1 with 17 seconds remaining, the Thunder got the ball to Rudy Gay who proceeded to run the clock down.
He drove to the basket but missed a tough shot. However he managed to get the rebound and put it in to leave the Thunder leading 86-85 with 2.3 seconds left.
Philadelphia time-out.
They in-bounded the ball to Iverson at the top of the key and he managed to launch a three over Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. It went in.
The referees checked the replay on the court side monitor and to the crowds disappointment, signalled that the shot counted.

That game was Superstar difficulty. The first three quarters didn't seem any different to All-Star. Only lost because of poor shooting late on.

I'll stick with Superstar now.

Oklahoma City Thunder [9-2] vs Los Angeles Clippers [8-5]

Clippers thrash Thunder in huge upset

Image

Few people who came to watch the Thunder take on the Clippers would have expected a victory for the visitors, let alone one of this size.
The Clippers came out like a team possessed and didn't give the Thunder a sniff all night. Ben Gordon was hitting three pointers from everywhere.
Rudy Gay was the only shining light for the Thunder, managing 27 points of a disappointing night for the home team.

Well that was short lived. I'm going back to All-Star because Superstar is ridiculous.

None of my shots go in, while 9/10 of theirs do. So many turnovers. Non-existent fouls getting called on me. None of their fouls getting called.

They steal the ball on every second pass. I can't get anywhere near getting a rebound.

I play this game because I enjoy it. Superstar difficulty made me want to smash my TV.

Thanks for the suggestion guys.

Lol, well, you needed a loss like that :P Maybe if you adjust the sliders a little bit for All-Star, that could work.

I keep hearing these 'sliders' mentioned. What exactly are they?

Under the Gameplay Settings menu, you'll find sliders that allow you to control different aspects of the game such as shooting percentages, the frequency of interceptions and steals and the ability to block or alter shots to name just a few. Traditionally, we tweak the game to try and get more realistic results, or a greater challenge (or both). For people who regularly thrash the CPU on Superstar difficulty or want to up the challenge on a lower difficulty setting, slider tweaks are the way to do it.

Oh ok, I'll have to check that out next time.

I play the Lakers next so that'll be hard enough on All-Star as it is without adjusting anything :?

Superstar is nice, just adjust the sliders a bit, maybe up the 3 point shooting and mid range around to 60 (Y)

Oklahoma City Thunder [9-3] vs Los Angeles Lakers [8-4]

Thunder fall just short after shoot-out against Lakers

Image

The Lakers came to Oklahoma looking for revenge against the Thunder who beat them in the opening game of the season in Los Angeles.
The Thunder, who were coming off an embarrassing defeat against the Clippers, went shot for shot with the Lakers for the first three quarters.
The game was tied at 83-83 with one to play. During an intense final quarter both teams traded baskets as the lead changed
The Thunder lead 107-103 with less than two minutes remaining and looked on course to win their tenth game of the season.
Unfortunately, the Lakers have the best closer in the game in Kobe Bryant. He stepped up late on and had the Lakers leading 117-114 with 6.4 seconds remaining.
Kevin Durant attempted a three pointer but he was off target. Kobe made two three throws with 0.1 seconds left to seal the win.
Rudy Gay got his scoring touch back and scored 46 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a defiant performance.

No shame in falling to the Lakers, after such an impressive streak a bit of a rough patch was bound to come eventually. Hang in there, I'm sure you'll be back on track in no time. :)

Oklahoma City Thunder [9-4] vs Phoenix Suns [9-2]

Thunder bounce back to beat the Suns

Image

Oklahoma City were looking to get their season back on track against the Suns after 3 consecutive losses.
The game was very similar to the other night against the Lakers, with the lead switching nearly every trip down the court.
Again, after three quarters were played the teams were level. The home crowd was getting anxious. Could this be another close game their team let slide?
Midway through the fourth Kevin Durant decided that he needed to be the one to break the deadlock and exploded with 8 straight points.
It was part of a 10-0 run for the Thunder which ultimately set up the win. Steve Nash wasn't giving up though and sunk a three late on to take his tally to 37 points.

Oklahoma City Thunder [10-4] vs Milwaukee Bucks [4-9]

Thunder beat Bucks for second time this season

Image

After 9 straight home games, the Thunder travelled to the Bradley Center to face the Milwaukee Bucks.
Tied at 24-24 after one quarter, the Thunder gained a decisive break in the second and lead 52-47 at the half.
The Bucks threatened to come back in the third but every time they got close it seemed Jeff Green would knock down a three.
Jeff Green seems to enjoy playing the Bucks. He scored 31 points tonight to go with the 34 he scored when the sides met earlier this season.
