I don't know about that, I wouldn't be surprised if Kobe rips them for 50 or so.

I wouldn't be surprised if we lose. :P

Obviously, I want Kobe to come in to MSG and set a new scoring record :)

He'll need a 75 point second half to do it.

Right...back in reality, the Lakers pick up the victory, Kobe scores 27 but needed 24 shots to get there. The Knicks just couldn't handle the Lakers' length, they actually had the edge in offensive rebounds but LA were the ones crashing the boards down the stretch and pulled ahead for good thanks to some timely put-backs by Gasol.

Far from being the first time, but they really did a number on the Knicks' frontcourt at different stages of the game.

Dinner of Onions

Interesting read about the books that Jax gave his players this season.

I laughed at this one:

Player: Luke Walton
Book: The Monkey Wrench Gang by Edward Abbey
Synopsis: Four ecologically-conscious misfits rage against the machinery of pollution.
Meaning: As the son of Bill, Luke probably likes to get high in nature. But that's a passive activity, and sometimes complacent appreciation isn't enough. You must rise up and take what's needed for Mother Earth. (Note: Phil gave this book to Luc Longley during the Bulls years, with disastrous results.)

Good that Lakers are a bit rejuvenised after the visit to the White House. Wins over Wiz and Pistons. (Y)

Oops!

Anyways, keeping an eye out on Hinrich trade rumours. Shipping Adam Morrison's fat contract as well as Sasha's ass... or perhaps even Jordan Farmar. Wonder if anything will happen there.

I don't see the Lakers trading anyone of real value yet. I imagine they'll make most of their moves in the off-season with signings and releasing players and whatnot to clear some cap space.

I've enjoyed watching Kobe play these last few games. Nice shot selection, looking to distribute early, even getting some rebounds. I hope he continues this kind of play.

Dare, Luke Walton has got to stay! Ammo is expendable. Maybe if Vujacic decides to come out of his shooting slump, he can stay too.

And adv1s5, Kobe needs to understand his limits. Not to force too much and distribute the ball. :)

Sit, Just explain me why should Luke need to stay? Vujacic is in the shooting slump for almost 1 and a half season

Because Luke is a good player/fit in the Lakers' offence. He's just unlucky that he has been hurt. All the players hold him in high esteem and when he plays, he runs the offence as well as does all the little things that matter. Everyone from Kobe to Morrison appreciate this guy for what he brings to the table. You can't trade him away!

Serious question: so did Artest just not get to go to the Whitehouse or something? I took a look at the photo they took at the Whitehouse and didn't see him in it. Ariza wasn't there either (to no surprise). I've been wondering what happens with these visits with guys that are no longer with the team and new guys on the team the following season. Guess the way it works is that remaining players that were on the Championship roster from the previous season get to go?

EDIT: Upon a bit of Googling, it says he missed it because of a flu plus he felt like he would be a bit of a "third wheel" tagging along for the visit. How has these visits worked in prior seasons?

He wasn't a part of the championship roster so I am guessing he did not feel required to attend. I'm pretty sure past teams have taken their playing roster for the current season there.

I think the flu was Ron's excuse used to excuse himself from showing up. As Jax joked, 'it was a 2 and a half hour flu.'

Interesting scenario. Devin Harris to the Lakers.

If we could get Harris for Morrison + Farmar... maybe, just maybe it would add a little something to our team. Then again, I think Kirk Hinrich would be more of a fit than Harris...

Usually, the team that wins is the one that attends. This is part of why it takes a long time for the teams to attend (other being the President's schedule) as everyone has to be available.

Better fit than Harris. More of a traditional PG than Harris, hopefully won't have to rely on scoring and rather set up others. Although we do need a shooter, no one really fits the bill...
