I groaned when I got on and checked the results yesterday, only to be greeted with that final score. The Jack-shoelace incident says it all, really.

good for Noah for calling out James. Lebron will probably go for 50 the next time the bulls play the cavs but he's a fucktard as Jae says for dancing on the court
Still- the bulls got embarrassed by the Cavs on national tv then got destroyed at home by the Raptors who were on the 2nd half of a road back to back ((and 4th game in 5 days}(and the previous game they played went to OT))
I DVR'd the toronto game. didn't get past the 1st qtr
the bulls are sucking ass right now and they are pretty boring to watch. but hey they in contention for the 8th spot still
i'm taking an interest in the kIngs this year. maybe i'll start a kings thread if there isn't one already

It doesn't say much for the Eastern Conference. It's a shame because for a while there, it looked like there might be 8 or 9 teams at least .500 or better in the East. That didn't last long.
Mon Dec 07, 2009 11:29 am
only a month into the season. the bulls will still be mediocre anyway. wake me up after the trading deadline... or better yet wait until free agency starts
Mon Dec 07, 2009 4:24 pm
I know what you mean, it's hard to get excited about them at the moment. Hopefully they can pull off a trade that a least gives them a bit of a spark and makes them more interesting to watch with a couple of decent runs through the year.
Mon Dec 07, 2009 6:58 pm
Ironic that air gordon's sig pretty much sums up the season the Bulls had so far.
I think it's also noteworthy that Rose as a floor general has been really disappointing this season. Not only his numbers of every category are actually worse than his rookie season's, he actually been pretty inconsistent. However on the bright side, if Rose starts to find a rhythm, the Bulls should start winning again. I think that's something other than major changes to look forward to.
Mon Dec 07, 2009 7:26 pm
His numbers have gotten better in the last couple of weeks and it seems his ankle is feeling better, so that at least is promising.

tough loss for the Kings today. Evans had a terrific game. i don't think he's ever tried to finish at the rim with his left. Tyreke meet Andrew Bogut. learn how to use your off hand.
I'm rooting for Evans to get ROY
i think the kings have a shot at the playoffs, albeit an outside one, nonetheless. i don't think anyone had them close to .500 when Kevin Martin got hurt
Go Kings!
Wed Dec 09, 2009 5:01 pm
That's unbelievable!
We lost vs Nets ,who have won only one game before!
This team really needs to be stronger.
Maybe a good trade ot sth like that
Wed Dec 09, 2009 5:54 pm
LeBron's dancing, Jack tying his shoelace and now losing to the Nets. Worst three-game losing streak ever.
Wed Dec 09, 2009 6:31 pm
On the bright side, Luol and Rose had a pretty decent game together, but Salmons and the second unit killed the game according to the stat sheet. I think the Bulls will be ok if Luol and Rose keep on having a night like this on a regular basis.
Wed Dec 09, 2009 6:47 pm
What?
The Bulls will never be okay with the players they have, they are fielding half a team and have been fielding half a team for years. Deng and Rose aren't going to turn into LeBron and Wade and that's why this team is in the worst of positions. Good enough to make the playoffs in a crappy conference most years but never good enough to get beyond that.
Blow it up. Keep Noah, keep Rose until he busts out in a couple years, ditch the rest.
Wed Dec 09, 2009 7:33 pm
Great avatar, AG.

With the Nets loss, they've somehow found a way to hit a new low this season. I'm all for blowing things up. Getting rid of certain players is easier said than done, but one change they could make very swiftly is to fire Del Negro. It's not all his fault of course, but they should never have hired him in the first place. While they're at it, it's time to show Paxson the door. Forman too; I fear it will be case of the protege groomed to make the same mistakes the mentor did.
Wed Dec 09, 2009 7:39 pm
I don't think the Nets are a new low. The Nets are a solid team (for the East) that was ravaged by injuries, bad luck and a horrible schedule. The Bulls are still a horrific offensive team that doesn't play defense very well. Even as the Nets have been imploding they've been playing defense.
I hate how my criticisms of the Bulls from like three years ago in this thread still apply. The Bulls bet wrong on players who will never be more than slightly above average. Hinrich, Deng, Gordon, Thomas, etc. Maybe Rose?
Wed Dec 09, 2009 7:44 pm
Still too early to say with Rose in my opinion, but it's a discouraging trend nevertheless.
Wed Dec 09, 2009 7:48 pm
I'm trying to find a 21 year old who played so much worse in his sophomore year.
He was overrated last year but he still fits into the "Bulls player who never develops and plays the same as he did as a rookie" model.

benji, rose is only 21.
Give him some time

I don't disagree, I certainly hope that there are better things to come. But that can be a slippery slope, where "He's only 21" becomes "He's only 22", "He's only 22" becomes "He's only 23" and so on and so forth. Hopefully it doesn't come to that, or worst case scenario if it's looking that way they can move him before he signs an extension that makes him difficult to trade. At this point, I'd like to remain a little more optimistic but as I said, it's a disturbing trend on the Bulls.

And? Tyrus Thomas, Tyson Chandler, Luol Deng, Ben Gordon...
Wed Dec 09, 2009 9:10 pm
It's not like Miami is in much better shoes than Chicago when it comes to making it deep into the playoffs. Our Beasley's doing ok but I think what Andrew said about being 21 or whatever also applies to him as well. Anyways, good to see Luol playing better these days. Should he hold good value if the Bulls ever decide to blow it up and trade him. In short term, Rose has been putting up good numbers at least in last few games.

Rose is partly to blame (jump shot not improving) for his play this year. you can put equal if not more blame on his ankle injury & management surrounding him with a bunch of stiffs on offense
the guy's strength is getting to the lane and Paxson basically took that away from him. there's no space for him to drive. No 3pt shooting. no post scoring. no nothing
look at Tyreke Evans. he's stronger then him but he's nearly not as explosive as/his jump shot is worse then Rose. but somehow magically he's still getting to the basket
Firing VDN would be nice even if it doesn't accomplish anything. Management bought themselves time with their 2010 plan. and maybe Paxson doesn't get fired regardless of what happens then since Reinsdorf only cares about profit
personnel wise- i don't see anything happening unless a trade nets the bulls a player w/expiring contract

I see and agree with you. At the same time I think anything other than an excuse of an injury for poor showings is a fail from Rose's standpoint, since he couldn't make an adjustment like all great players do. But as I repeatedely been saying, he's been showing up with good numbers lately, so I think him and the team will find ways to improve the record. The Bulls gotta be a better team than what the record shows. They have too talent to stay at that record imo.

Quite the opposite. Their Pythagorean record is a pathetic 5-14.
Thu Dec 10, 2009 12:40 pm
The Hawks just wiped the floor with them 118-83, Hinrich returned to shoot 0/9 and the turnover count topped the assist total. Sounds like it would've been an absolutely painful one to watch.
Thu Dec 10, 2009 12:52 pm
On the bright side, if they lose enough, they'll have a decent chance of getting a good version of Derrick Rose in Paul Wall.
