Chapter 3

“Coach you’ve got to start me!!!” Sessions said shouting.
“Calm down Sessions and respect my decisions.” Rambis said. “You got to understand that Flynn works better with the system, your playing style just doesn’t fit.”
“Then why did you signed me for, I can not help the team if I cant touch the ball. It’s better for the team to trade me.” Sessions said.
“Good Morning Coach.” Kamla said. “Oops don’t know you have a visitor.”
“How many times do I have to tell you to knock first.” Rambis said. “Ramon you are dismissed we will talk about your issues later.”
Sessions left the office with a mean look and slammed the door.
“Same problem Coach?” Kamla asked.
“Yeah he wants to start but he can not adjust to the system.” Rambis answered.
“Give the kid a chance coach” Kamla said
“But…”
“No buts coach” Kamla interrupted. “Look coach your system made us loss three straight and we are averaging 82 PPG in those games, Coach take a look at this.” Kamla then went to the teams website and open the mailbag.

“Good day to the T-Wolves organization. I am Lamrock and I am a bit disappointed the way the Wolves play, I mean what the fuck are you thinking benching your 2nd and 3rd best guys. I’m talking Ramon Sessions and Kevin Love they are not fit to be bench players that is not their role on the team. The hell with the triangles system, you got to change the system. I don’t know what game style but start your best guys.”

“So what are you saying Rick?” Rambis said. “Should I listen to a fan?”
“He got some point there, our team is doing great on defense it’s our offense that’s killing us.” Kamla said.
“I’ll think about it, in the mean time do you want to watch the team practice?” Rambis asked.
Kamla just nodded and they went to watch the team do a 5 on 5 practice.
After a couple of possessions Coach Rambis called a timeout.
“Wait we’ll change players, Al, Kevin ,Tayshaun ,Jonny and Ramon your on the white team. Sam, Pav, Julian, Corey and Nathan your team black.” Rambis said.
“Wait coach, who’s are point?” Corey asked
“Him” Rambis pointed to Julian.
After the 5 on 5 scrimmage the team ended the practice. White team won 54-32 and that brings smile to Rambis and Kamla’s faces.

Buzzer sounds…
“And it’s over Minnesota Timberwolves won it’s 4th straight” Marv Albert said. “ And we have Cherry Miller with the rookie Jonny Flynn, Cherry…”
“Yes Marv I’m here with the rookie Jonny Flynn, So Jonny 4 wins in a row how big this for the team?” Cherry asked.
“It’s pretty big, nobody expect us to win but here we are winners of 4 straight, now every team will have to respect us.” Flynn said.
“Well said Jonny. Thanks for your time” “Thank you” Flynn said.

At the locker room

“Woooh, for straight man it feels good” Corey said
“Nice to finally have some wins.” Prince said.
“Nice team but we still got a long way to go better clean up and get some rest. We got to be ready for tomorrow’s game against Atlanta and get our five win in a row, right team?” Rambis said.
“Yeahhhhhhhh!!!” the whole team shouted.

Atlanta’s game, Halftime

“What the hell are you doing out there? Your not doing anything right!!!” Rambis yelled at his players
“What’s with the turnovers, we turn the ball 11 times in the 1st half and our defense sucks Bibby and Johnson combined for 25 points in the 1st half. I want you guys to play 1-2-2 in the next half and please don’t turn the damn ball.” “Now get your ass out there and win this game.”

“So your playing 1-2-2 on us huh, scared of my shots?” Bibby taunts Flynn while setting up s play.

Bibby pass the ball to Josh Smith and quickly gets a hard screen from Evans. Martin quickly switched to Josh Smith but he was easily past. Smith runs towards the basket for a dunk but gets a hard foul by Kevin Love.

“What the fuck was that? Are you trying to kill him or something” Evans confronted Love.
But before Kevin had answered somebody dives to Evans. It was Corey Brewer and he was punching Evans.
Jefferson quickly stopped Brewer.
“Get off of me! Don’t stop me.” Brewer said angrily.

After that the Wolves totally collapsed and went to lose the game against the Atlanta Hawks.

Locker Room

“Brewer, Love!!!” Rambis yelled “What happened out there? Corey what’s up with the assault?”
“I just want to protect my teammate” Corey said in a low voice.
“What? To protect Kevin? His four inches taller than Evans you don’t need to back him up, you got to control yourself.” Rambis said. “How about you Kevin what is your excuse?”
Kevin just looked at his coach and did not answer.
“Kevin Im asking you speak up.” Rambis said.
But Kevin still did not answer his coach or even to look at him.
“I can’t stand this, everybody pack up. Kevin we’ll talk about this later.” Rambis said.

After Coach Rambis left the locker room Kevin quickly stand up and went to Martin.

“Hey rookie, you think you’re so great but this wouldn’t happen if you did not let past Smith.” Kevin said angrily.
“Calm down Kevin…” but before Martin finish what he is going to say Kevin give him a punch in the stomach and tossed him into the lockers.

“What was that?” Rambis asked
He was surprised to see Martin on the ground while Kevin is being hold by his teammates.
“What the fuck! Kevin you are suspended from the team activities for two weeks.” Rambis said angrily

Bad ass Kevin.
