Excellent to see this is still going. To be honest, I haven't been in this section the past couple months due to a recent lack of interest in NBA and dynasties in general. Seems to plague me for a few months every year, and is why I can never get through a season. I'm not totally caught up yet, but I just wanted to stop by.

SEATTLE (AP) – Kevin Durant scored a season high 53 points against the visiting Boston Celtics, with 41 of them in the second half. The game was a see-sawing affair as the Celtics came back from 15 points down in the second quarter to tie it in the middle of the third. The teams traded punches before a decisive fourth quarter run put Seattle up for good.

Celtics’ SG Ray Allen was engaged in a scoring duel with Durant in the third period. The Celtic scored 21 of his 27 points as Durant had 18 third quarter points. However, Allen seemed to tire out as Durant continued with his scoring tear and scored another 23 in the final period. “He was just in the zone,” George Karl said, “I gave him the green light. He was hitting shots in the flow of the offence so I was very satisfied with his effort.”

Boston took the lead for much of the final quarter before the Stealth blitzed the Celtics in the final four minutes of the game. PG Sebastian Telfair, starting in the place of the injured Jason Kidd hit a three pointer to tie the game at 91-91 with 4 minutes left. Telfair finished with 8 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Boston would only score one last bucket after that as Durant hit three triples to effectively win the game.

Shot Clock Violation Costs Game

NEW JERSEY (AP) – Former Portland Trailblazer SF Travis Outlaw was a huge factor in knocking the Stealth out of last year’s playoffs and continued to have his way as he registered a season high 41 points. Kevin Durant missed scoring 50 points in back to back games and was crying foul as the New Jersey Nets battled from a double digit deficit to pip the visiting Seattle Stealth by a meager two points. A handful of controversial calls saw the home team edge closer to their competitors and an alleged no-call led to PF David Lee being called for a shot clock violation.

“He (Lee) was getting hacked, New Jersey wanted him to go to the line but the refs didn’t call anything!” a fuming Durant told courtside reporters before refusing to speak to media in the locker room. Nets star PG Barney Steele thought the contrary, “Seattle had plenty of time to shoot. We just played some really good defense down low. There was no foul and there was no shot so it’s pretty fair to say that the other team choked. Steele finished with 22 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists as he thoroughly outplayed former Nets PG Jason Kidd who had his first game since being injured last month. Kidd had 11 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks but was evidently too slow to keep up with the younger Steele.

David Lee’s shot clock violation came at the worst possible time with Seattle down by 2 points with 10 seconds left. Outlaw would hit two free throws to put his team up 107-103. Durant hit a jumper at the other end but there was not enough time to send the Nets to the line and salvage another chance to tie or win the game.

Seattle Falls To Dallas

DALLAS (AP) – The Seattle Stealth’s road trip might stunt the winning momentum they created at the end of last month as the team dropped to their second straight loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavs with 36 points and was ably supported by Hedo Turkoglu and Jason Terry who had 17 apiece while Josh Howard added 14.

The Stealth fell behind early and relied on a late surge to stage a comeback, which fell disappointingly short. Kevin Durant led five other players in double figures with 30 points. Reshawn Tyson continued his solid play from off the bench with 15 points, Jason Kidd had 15 points and 11 assists, Raja Bell and David Lee put up 12 points each, while DJ White chipped in with 10 off the bench.

“Not our best effort tonight,” George Karl stated afterwards, “Two semi-close losses but it really does hurt the ego. Next game will be another opportunity though.” The Head Coach also dismissed rumors that a Reshawn Tyson and Chris Bosh deal was about to be finalized, “You better ask the manager about that one.”

Association On Hold For 5-6 Weeks

I would just like to announce that this association will not be updated for up to 6 weeks due to my exams as well as a loss of motivation to update. Not because I don't want to update the story but some shit has happened and I just need to sort my life out in real life! I tired to kick start this story again but just have not been able to. Hopefully once I return, there will also be more interest and activity on the forums!

I do assure you that this association will continue - time pending. I will not be getting NBA 2K10. So A Legend Is Born II will continue once I am feeling better.

Thanks for the well wishes guys. I've been feeling a lot better recently and got a few games with the Stealth in so I think it's best if I do a quick game recap so watch out for that! And the trade, for those who were wondering, will be part of the next few updates. Ciao.

Its been a while since I've read ALIB I and despite not getting a proper ending, is still fantastic. For anyone who hasn't read through it yet, I greatly recommend it. While the basketball element of the dynasty isn't as strong or prominent, the story is as, if not more compelling than this one, and gives you some background on the main characters. With the two years between that dynasty and this one, a couple continuity issues exist about Tyson and Chara, but overall, a great read, and should more than tide you over during the hiatus.

Also, icing on the cake is the vintage "retro" NLSC banter of three years ago.

As I've posted earlier in this association, I was forced to change the backgrounds of Ty and Moses however, the element is the same. GM Will Sit seems to have grown up a lot since ALIB I as well.

The ending for ALIB was just around the corner. I was never able to post it and when I came back to post it, it had already been inducted. It was just Sit meeting Kobe at the LAX terminal.

No storyboard. This is all in my head. I would work in producing movies, I think I can make a good yarn. It's hard to make a good basketball story though. Yeah man, gonna continue very soon. Next update should be today some time!

Seattle Escapes With Win Against Grizzlies

MEMPHIS (AP) – Kevin Durant led the Seattle Stealth to a slim five point victory over the Western Conference leading Memphis Grizzlies, continuing Memphis’ fall from the top of the conference after a hot start to the season. Durant’s 38 points led all scorers as Jason Kidd added 11 points, 10 assists, and Reshawn Tyson chipped in 12 from off the bench.

OJ Mayo tried his best to keep the home side in the game with 26 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Mayo was brilliant on attack where he scored from all different angles and spots. Shawn Marion was the team’s next best player as he contributed 14 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals, and a block. Memphis’ best player this season, Martti Must, was limited to just 2 points, 6 rebounds, 4 blocks, on 1-7 shooting from the field.

Seattle had an early and considerable lead before Memphis made a comeback thanks to the shooting of their bench. By the time the fourth quarter rolled around, the teams were locked in a close battle. Durant stepped up in the final period by scoring 19 points and single handily carried the team. The game came down to a furious finish in the closing minute.

Durant put Seattle up by 6 with a minute remaining. Mayo would then score a floater and trey to cut the margin to a single point. Raja Bell scored his only bucket, an open 18 footer, to push Seattle up by 3. After a timeout, Mayo would miss a three point attempt from the top of the key with 2 seconds left. David Lee would then get the ball right underneath the hoop and quickly put the ball in the hoop for the finishing score of the game.

Seattle Continues Giant Killing Run

WASHINGTON (AP) – Only a couple of days removed from taking out the Western Conference’s best team, the Seattle Stealth went on face the number one team in the Eastern Conference and the result was the same. Kevin Durant barely played in this encounter, scoring 16 points in limited minutes, as Seattle thrashed the Washington Wizards.

Raja Bell could not miss as he scored all of his 25 points in the first half. Bell was 11 for 16 from the field. Bench duo Reshawn Tyson and Jeff Green ensured that Seattle kept piling on the points with their starters resting. Tyson had 22 and Green added 20.

Gabe Pruitt had a career high 40 points while captain Gilbert Arenas was the next best player with 14 points but on just 6 for 22 shooting. Klemen Pirc struggled with only 8 points while Caron Butler was in the same boat with 9. The loss knocks Washington out of first place in the East.

Washington Snatches Win At Buzzer In Re-Match

SEATTLE (AP) – The Washington Wizards did not react to their shock loss to the lowly Seattle Stealth well but all it took was two days for them to come back out and more focused. They were surprised at how resilient their opponents were. “I guess we underestimated this team,” Gilbert Arenas said after the game.

Bad blood must be brewing between the two teams after they had their second match in days. The match saw plenty of starting and stopping as players from either side kept jawing and shoving at each other. “Playoff atmosphere,” George Karl said and would later joke, “Too bad we’re not a playoff team at the moment.”

Gilbert Arenas led six other players in double figures with 29 points. He added 5 rebounds and 12 assists to his tally, as well as the game winning jump shot as time expired. Caron Butler made up for a bad game in the team’s previous loss to the Stealth with 20 points. Young Slovenian PG Klemen Pirc had a double double of 12 points and 13 assists in his showdown against future Hall of Famer Jason Kidd. Kidd finished with 8 points and 15 assists.

Kevin Durant had 29 points, 8 rebounds, David Lee added 26 points and 9 rebounds, while Reshawn Tyson dazzled the home crowd with a display of acrobatic plays that led to him scoring 13 points from off the bench.

Jason Kidd Leads Stealth

SEATTLE (AP) – Kevin Durant struggled against Andre Iguodala’s defense so Jason Kidd stepped up and helped deliver a win for the home team Seattle Stealth. Seattle began the game on a scoring blitz and found themselves up 27-12 after the first quarter. However, the visiting 76ers shored up their defence and hammered away at the Stealth’s lead.

Durant scored all 12 of his points in the first quarter before going cold for the rest of the game. He finished on 5 for 13 shooting as he struggled to get open looks. Kidd picked up the slack as he led the team with 18 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals. His biggest impact on the game came on the other end of the floor as he stifled Sixers PG Zoilo Resurreccion in the final quarter.

“The Sixers’ offence really came to a halt when Jason put the clamps down on their point guard,” Stealth team mate Andrew Bogut stated. Resurreccion finished with 15 points and 4 assists but had very little room to operate in the final period with Kidd all over him. Iguodala finished with 25 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, and 4 steals.
