BETTERroster edit for more realistic amount of dunks

Postby kingjames23 on Sun Apr 19, 2009 6:36 pm

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/dunk-o-meter/yearly

take those numbers, divide them in half, edit every player's dunk vs layup frequency to that number. (round up 3.5 to 4 and so forth) say goodbye to dunkfest, say hello to the RIGHT guys dunking often, but not constantly. dwight howard will still dunk constantly... as he should

you could even figure out how to adjust the ratings based on number of minutes played, games played.... or attempts in the paint (but these arent always dunks and layups... some are hook shots, tip ins or short jumpers and such....)

for an even better way, you can find that player's potential number of dunks if they missed alot of games

total dunks divided by number of games played = dunks per game. take that total, times it by 82 games... then divide that by 2.

take andrew bynum who had 100 dunks but played 50 games, thats exactly 2 dunks per game

2 x 82 =164 half of that is 82 so he was on pace to have 164 dunks this season without the injury... and his adjusted dunk frequency rating would be 82 (half the projected number of dunks)

it should only take a couple hour's time to do this edit... and after i make adjustments for game's played, i will make it public in my ea locker.

ok, so it is uploaded as content in my EA locker.

this really makes the game less arcadish, seeing as how only the players who dunk a lot... dunk a lot. i used real stats to do this, so you should notice a major improvement

DARTH KTULU is my xbox live gamertag, add me if you want these.

file name
DUNK REALISM
accurate dunk frequency based on total amount of dunks x number of games played

if a player is capable of dunking but hadnt dunked during the 09 season, they get a default rating of 1(so they MIGHT just dunk in your game)

these edits were done on the final live 365 update of the season, so all the rosters are correct, but injured players that were only recently injured are in the correct roster spots, as in whoever started the most games is in the starting lineup. whoever played the most games/got the most minutes is listed higher on the bench than whoever played the least

This is great. I thought I was the only one who took this aspect of the game seriously. I was wondering, will I be able to get your roster edit from your EA locker if I'm using a ps3?
