2010 Dynasty of the Year!

Image

Welcome to my new dynasty thread!

I played many games with the new PC 2.0 patch, including the Raptors, Nets, Cavaliers, Warriors, Bulls and came up with a team, I felt the most comfortable with -

THE BUCKS!

I know the title is crappy, but hey, Jennings and Redd are both lefties and Redd is and Jennings will be the face of the franchise.

The reasons were Brandon Jennings (Fav rookie this year), Michael Redd (Fav SG after D-Wade) and Hakim Warrick (Just love his athleticism). Also, the Bucks are rebuilding, something I've never done. And the other pieces the Bucks have (Luc, Bogut, Gadzuric) felt intriguing. Also, I have done the Bucks before, but that didn't go very well as I only played 3 games.

Some minor deals will be made as usual, but nothing big like bringing Lebron or Dwight to Milwaukee. :P

A trade I will do is upgrade my SF position. I have Luc and Joe Alexander, but neither of those are starters on a regular basis. Although, I would want to keep Luc as a reserve. Alexander has a surprisingly good rating in the game, so he can be good trade bait.

Anyway, I hope this lasts the longest of my dynasties. I put a fresh copy of Live 06 on this PC and just installed PC 2.0 with no other patches to secure that no crashes will mess things up.

I hope this will be as popular as my Heat was.

Any suggestions are welcome on how to do recaps, trade ideas and always the much appreciated "good luck" posts. :)

Stay tuned!

Nice plans, though I expect Jennings to be a bust. I wish you would upgrade your PC and switch to 2K instead. Your commitment is amazing considering the obsolescence of Live 06.

START LUC OR DIE! (sorry, i'm overly protective of Luc Mbah a Moute and Jodie Meeks, having worked on their CFs ;) )

trades? problem is i like both Mbah a Moute and Alexander and wouldn't want to ditch either unless it was for a marquee player; all the better SFs are pretty crucial w/their teams and might require packaging one of your more star players in the trade offer

thierryhenry50, thanks. No particular plans with Delfino, just backing up Redd for now. He's not in my trade plans.
Lamrock, I hope Jennings will play great and Rubio will be a bust, whenever he comes to the NBA. :P This PC I have now is good enough. :P
C-77, I'll see after the first season. :P
Clutch, starting Luc was my intention all along. :P I have Ramon Sessions (Who is a FA in the roster) and I might use him in a sign-and-trade.
newc, I'll hope I can get this team to the Playoffs ASAP. :P
XpLosibo, you still can. :P Just Jennings is my favorite rookie and had to get him. :P

hova-, thanks. I'll do my best.

 Roster and settings updated! :)

Kemp and Payton led the Sonics to the NBA Finals in 1996.

Milwaukee hires Shawn Kemp as GM; adds Payton as assistant coach.

Milwaukee Bucks owner Herb Kohl announced in a press conference today, that former NBA All-Star Shawn Kemp has been hired as team GM after former GM John Hammond stepped down just 3 days ago. Team president Herb Kohl, team head coach Scott Skiles and Shawn Kemp were present.

After a couple of questions and photographs, Kemp announced that the Bucks would like to introduce another addition. The reporters and journalists were intrigued, whether it's a new player or a member of the staff. It was "the Glove" - Gary Payton.

Kemp wasted no time with his new job as he said during the press conference :
"When Herb called be to offer me the job, I was excited. He also mentioned, what needed doing, like what about Ramon, on the staff and all that. I said I have to call you back. I called Gary straight away and offered him the assistant coach job. He was thrilled about the opportunity. I called Herb back and he was pleased as well. And now, 2 days later, here we sit.

The Bucks finished the 2008/09 season with 34 wins, ranking them 12th in the conference. The Bucks had many injuries on star players (Michael Redd, Andrew Bogut) and couldn't stay consistent. On a bright note, Ramon Sessions really stepped up as he averaged 12.4 points compared to 8.1 during his rookie season.

John Hammond was quite busy this off-season, although many can question his decisions.

On June 23, 2009, Richard Jefferson was traded to the San Antonio Spurs for Bruce Bowen, Kurt Thomas, and Fabricio Oberto. Bowen was waived after the deal. Oberto was traded to the Pistons for the young Amir Johnson. Johnson was thrilled about the chance to play. But his dreams were cut short, as he was traded alongside Sonny Weems to the Raptors for Carlos Delfino and guard Roko Ukic.

After that, the Bucks lost Charlie Villanueva to the Pistons via free agency. And Ramon Sessions is still a restricted free agent.

That's 3 of the Bucks top 4 scorers from last season gone. (Jefferson, Villanueva, Sessions)

On July 31, 2009, Hakim Warrick agreed to terms with the Milwaukee Bucks. The only move which has some positive notes. After the move, Hammond stepped down and left the rest of the rebuilding to the next person.

Shawn Kemp has to feed his 1482 illegitimate children somehow....

Anyway, I love Michael Redd, but I hate the team. Never have I ever looked at a roster and hated so many players. It's like David Stern purposely weeded out all of the players I hate in the NBA and placed them all in one team with the only saving grace being Redd. Not only that but the jerseys are ugly....

Well now that I got that out of the way, I think the first step in repairing this franchise is acquiring a decent small forward. As much as I "appreciate" (not like, there's a difference! :P ) Luc's hustle and his game, I think you're going to need to upgrade that position.

Good luck with this one, I shall once again be following!

The Sessions saga came to an end as he was sent to New York.

Kemp makes first move, acquires Wilson Chandler.

The Bucks new GM Shawn Kemp solved the Bucks problem of what to do with Ramon Sessions.

It was announced today, that the Bucks and the Knicks have agreed on a deal, which would send F Joe Alexander to the Knicks. Ramon Sessions was also sent to the Knicks via sign-and-trade. To make the deal work, the Bucks received Wilson Chandler in return.

Wilson Chandler was one of Mike D'antoni's favorite players so Shawn Kemp had a hard time to make the deal work. However, D'antoni and Donnie Walsh have a lot of hope in Ramon Sessions and also Joe Alexander, who hasn't really played as well as his draft position in 2008 (8th). With the Knicks having departed with Wilson Chandler and Quentin Richardson, Alexander should have the playing to prove everyone wrong.

Final Deal :

Milwaukee gets :
    - Wilson Chandler
New York gets :
    - Ramon Sessions
    - Joe Alexander
    - 2nd Round pick 2010

Trade grades :
Bucks : A-
Knicks : C-

Memphis won the race for Iverson.

Iverson lands in Memphis

The Memphis Grizzlies announced today that they have agreed on terms with the 13-year veteran guard Allen Iverson. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Iverson had many pursuers (Charlotte, Miami, LA Clippers), but he chose Memphis as they offered the best deal and more playing time. Also, Iverson got the starting job, which he wouldn't have got in other teams.

Iverson averaged 17.5 points and 5 assists during the 2008/09 season, where he played for Denver and Detroit.

Iverson was the first player chosen in the 1996 NBA Draft, the number one pick of the Philadelphia 76ers. n the 1998-99 season, Iverson made his first trip to the playoffs. He started all ten playoff games and averaged 44.4 minutes per game despite being hampered by a number of nagging injuries. Iverson led the Sixers to an upset over the higher seeded Orlando Magic, before losing to a veteran-laden Indiana Pacers squad. That year, he averaged 26.8 points earning his first scoring title.

The next year, Iverson averaged 28.4 points and once again led the 76ers into the playoffs. In the playoffs, Iverson averaged 26.2 points, 4.8 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.30 steals per game, with a high of 40 points in the first round opener at Charlotte on April 22. That season, he was the only player other than Shaquille O'Neal to get a NBA Most Valuable Player vote. Once again, however, the Sixers were eliminated by the Indiana Pacers.

Iverson arguably had his best season in 2000-01. He led his team to a ten-game winning streak to start the season. He won All-Star MVP honors. The Sixers posted a 56-26 record -- the best in the Eastern Conference. He also averaged a then-career high 31.1 points, winning his second NBA scoring title in the process. Iverson won the NBA steals title at 2.5 a game. Iverson was named NBA Most Valuable Player for his accomplishments.

Lee led the league in double-doubles last season.

David Lee signs with Washington

Just a few hours later, the Washington Wizards have announced that they have signed F David Lee to a contract. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Lee was a restricted free agent and the Wizards worked out a sign-and-trade with the Knicks, which sent the Wizards 2012 second round pick to the Knicks in exchange for the services of David Lee.

Lee averaged 16.0 points and 11.7 rebounds while shooting 54.9% from the field during the 2008/09 season for the Knicks.

Lee was selected by the Knicks with the team's third first round pick (30th overall) in the 2005 NBA Draft, following Channing Frye and Nate Robinson. Lee signed with the team on July 1, 2005.

Lee led the league in double-doubles last season with 65.

correction - your title should read, "Kemp makes first move, acquires Wilson Chandler's daughter" - OH SNAP!

j/k ;) nice move in landing Chandler; he was someone i really considered in FTA but i couldn't swing a fair/reasonable deal that made sense no matter what combos i tried; though highly unlikely, yours seems fair/reasonable

Sessions is probably going to leave anyway, so it's good that you got rid of him to fill a position of need. I'm a huge Chandler fan, he's definitely going to be a nice player to compliment Redd's shooting stroke.

Boo for Chris Wallace. Stacking his team with players with questionable attitudes that play the same position as their younger players (Conley and Thabeet).
