I had FIFA 08 and 09 and didn't like them much... if you need an arcade game, continue with FIFA, but if you feel you need realism and a proper simulation, go with PES... I download the kits and stadiums for PES6, PES2008 and PES2009 here. Thanks for replying bro...

Martti wrote:Looking at the vid you had over 5 great chances to win this match. It was like that for me when I played FIFA 08. I had 10 strikes on the goal and like 6 in the frame, the CPU had only one strike and one goal. :x

Anyway, hope you do better next time. Arshavin looks really sharp on the attack, had some very good oppurtunities. (Y)

Thanks bro. Arshavin makes the attacking duo with Robin... but sometimes I play with a 4-3-3, Bendtner from the right and Andrei from the left, Robin at center.

Jing wrote:Damn embedding the youtube video in there is pretty nifty.

Thought how come there are Lyon banners in the Fulham-Arsenal game?

No Craven Cottage in PES2009... well, there is, but I didn't download stadiums for kitserver, only kits :P

Thanks everyone for the replies... I need you guys to suggest any signings... Vieira, Sneijder and Van der Vaart are under the radar right now. May send some guys on loan. Also any opinions on the news or formation I'm using, or the cup draw? (used Random.org)

Sweet I shall look into getting PES running then. Just watched the full video, you deffinately had a lot of posession and its good to see you actually playing like Arsenal, you were just unlucky with your shots not finding the target. You mention to check out the news.. what do you mean by that?

In respect to your signing; I like all three players but it depends how much you have to spend. Like I would think about going up to £10m maybe even to £15m for a DM as you will need the cover when Song goes to the African Nations Cup (Does the game have that?) but with Snejider and VDV both are great players but you already have decent dpeth in those areas so you should only really go for them if you can get them on the cheap, say less that £10m.

All that being said I think Vieira would be a good option, but also look at Blaise Matudi or Veloso. Who you should go for is also kinda influenced by what formation you will play. Im in love with the 4-3-3 that Arsenal are playing atm, not only because we are playing great but ive always said that it suits our team best. With players like Walcott, Arshavin, Bendtner and RVP who can all play out wider it will work a treat. I like a MC trio of Song sitting back, Denilson and Fabregas up a bit more but with Fabregas having more freedom. YOu can switch Rosicky in for Denilson at times, but IMO Denilson bring more balance especially since the front 3 will be pretty attack minded. If you were to bring in VDV or Snjider then you could even move to a 4-2-3-1 with Cesc and Song behind Arshavin - VDV - Walcott then RVP up front.

Really the main areas to address are a backup DC (Zapata or Sakho anyone?) and then depth in the midfield depending on how your gonna play it. I also wouldnt mind a better back up/successor for Almunia as Fabinski doesnt really cut it for me.

One other thing I thought of, you had heaps of posession and a lot of shots but I noticed that alot of your opportunities where really only with RVP, Arshavin and Theo up there. Maybe try hold up the ball a little if a shot isnt immediately on and get a few more players forward. This is coming from playing a lot of manager so this game may react a little differently but I find with teams that are on a level below you they will try to encourage you to rush into your shots rather than let you build up.

Sorry about the long post, very passionate about my Arsenal :P

• Yeah, had more possession but Fulham was really good in the passing as well... they had some shots that scared me
• Check out the news, I mean the little info below the pic... "Walcott: We had possession, but we lacked sharpness", "Wenger to repeat formation to battle CL", that isn't from the page, I made it in Photoimpact  Those four little info's.
• The game randomly picks players at some point in the game, if you modify your formation before the game it says "inducted to national team"
• Matuidi and Veloso are good options too, Vieira is the first option because of his history :)
• I'm looking for a DC as well, I don't like Zapata very much, Sakho would be a nice addition, will look for some other options; Fabianski he's good in the game, I'm sticking with him for now, but will look for some 3rd option, maybe Mannone will go out on loan.
• Had to remove some Fulham lame attacks from the video because YouTube wouldn't upload it (it was 14 minutes long) :P But yeah, the best attacking situations came from Robin, Andrei or Theo; Theo is a monster in the game. Thanks for the advice.
• The longer the post, the better :)

When can we expect the next update? I think a 4-3-3 would bring your central midfield into your attacking play a bit more, if the ball goes wide one of the wide strikers will be out there allowing Cesc or the other MC to push up to add support to the central striker.

I'm doing an update now with the fixture and squad... then I will play the game against Celtic... will try 4-3-3 for the next Premier League match. (Y)

Haven't had time to watch the video yet, I'll check it out later. Not sure what position you're after but some recommendations.. not sure if they are any good in PES:

DMC:

Gokhan Inler (Udinese)
Hernanes (Sao Paulo)
Leandro Somoza (Velez)
Federico Fazio (Sevilla)
Raul Garcia (Atl Madrid)
Michael Bradley (Gladbach)

Striker:

Antonio Di Natale (Udinese)
Pavel Pogrebnyak (Zenit St Petersburg)
Andre-Pierre Gignac (Toulouse)

Re: Arsenal FC :: Together We Stand :: 1st Recap!

Di Natale and Inler are at the top of the list. Also like Veloso (Sporting Lisbon), David Villa (Valencia), Rosina (Torino), Kalou (Chelsea), De Rossi (Roma), Senna (Villarreal), Yaya Toure (Barça)... Vieira (Inter), Sneijder and Van der Vaart (both Real Madrid) also have some chances. Hangeland (Fulham), I don't like him, he's off.

Also saw Somoza in the list. You follow Argentinian football, Jae? He got an injury last season and was out for like 8 months, he's just returning this days.

EDIT: Squad in the index done. Also, any video tips or things you would like to see, just post
:D

I second Faizo he would provide cover at both DM and CB, another option similar to Richards. DOes the game impletment the 6+5 rule where you need a certain amount of english players for champions league (may be 7+5 I cant remember exactly). If so then maybe you should start looking for some English players to bring in.

Hey ive got PES going, but not too sure which patches to download. I mainly want up to date transfers, I can do a few as they happen but as up to date as possible would be cool. I suppose it would be cool to get some Kits and Stadiums and even graphics updates too if they are avaliable.

What version did you get, PES2009? 2009 is very hard to change the stadiums... there's a kitserver like PES6, but more complex. In PES6 I have all the kits, balls, stadiums for 09/10, but the Master League only allows 16 teams for Division 1's and 8 for Division 2 (N)

I'd be lying if I said I knew a lot about it but I'm pretty fascinated by the league there. I enjoy watching it a whole lot more than the Brazilian league (or leagues, since there's about 50,000 of them) and I think the players adapt better to European football in general. Not so much when they go to England for some reason, but I'm pretty sure if I ever won the lottery and bought a team it'd have a decent number of Argentinians in the squad.

Also like Veloso (Sporting Lisbon), David Villa (Valencia), Rosina (Torino), Kalou (Chelsea), De Rossi (Roma), Senna (Villarreal), Yaya Toure (Barça)... Vieira (Inter), Sneijder and Van der Vaart (both Real Madrid) also have some chances

Kalou is a beast in FIFA, not sure about PES. Hopefully Arsenal sign him in real life, though those rumours are dying down... Rosina and Senna are personal favorites also.

Yeha PES 2009, im not as worried about the kits etc, more worried about getting updated squads.

This one, but it's a complete patch with updated kits and stadiums, apart from all CL teams (08/09), I'm waiting for a 09/10 CL option file.

EDIT: Please vote in the poll!
