Cleveland cavaliers latest updates including trades

Postby Cleveland wins on Sat Aug 22, 2009 9:59 am

I have done some trades because my team is struggling, but here is my newly aquired roster.
Centers:S.oneal/A.biedrins/Z.pachulia
Power forwards:L.powe/J.howard
Small forwards:L.james/Z.azubuike
Shooting gaurds:K.martin/D.green
Point gaurds:M.williams/D.gibson/J.crittenton

I got some of these players for different reasons, i got biedrins because ilgauskas was getting old and his contract expires this season. I got azubuike because i like his three point rating, plus he's insurance just in case i don't resign lebron next season, or whenever he becomes a free agent, especially if the draft is strong i probably won't resign lebron and i'll probably draft a good backup small forward to play behind azubuike. Then because i'll have cap space because i'll be rid of lebron's future 60 million dollar contract, if i have roster space i'll hope to sign a star and maybe a young two year player to the minimum. I was offered crittenton by the wizards for hickson, i hated giveing up hickson because he's my favorite cavalier, but i need point gaurd reinsurance just in case i decide to trade mo williams this offseason, something which i might do. I'm planning on draft a power forward this offseason with my first pick but i don't know what position i need for my second pick, i may get a small forward or a shooting gaurd or something. I'm focusing my three assistants on daniel green because i want him to become a star. Juwan howard's and shaquille oneal's contract both expires this year so i won't resign them, so that means that i'll have $25 million in cap space. I may sign a point gaurd or another center or something, i'm not sure yet. I may decide to trade lebron this offseason for a couple of players and build my team around my backup small forward, i'm kind of building for the future and at the same time, i want to win now. I'm building my team around the three point line, although i plan on getting an inside scorer or two and maybe a rebounder. I'll be glad when the offseason comes because this will be an exciting offseason for my team, mainly because of oneal and howard's contracts will be gone and we'll probably have 2 or 3 roster spots available to sign maybe some young stars or probably a veteran and a young star to a two year contract, so what do you guys think of this team and my plans to win an nba title?

If your trying to get a SF with good 3 pt shooting, I recommend kevin durant. He's almost automatic from there. Useful esp in situations u need a 3 pt game winner. BTW, he's young and you can build a team around him.

At 5, Dwight's really got it going esp when inside the paint. At 4, Bosh is great esp at medium and short range jumpers.

Thanks for the suggestions, i started a new cleveland dynasty besides that one because i traded lebron, because he wasn't performing well. I actually trade a couple of players to chicago, i forgot who, for i think the power forward's name is jason johnson, i heard about him the other day on nba fit, which is on nba tv. I have several free agents but i really don't want to resign any of them. Shaq and big z are free agents, i think shaq will retire but i kind of want him back. But i don't want his 10 million dollar contract, if i don't resign those two centers then that'll leave me with over 20 million dollars in capspace. What do you think i should do with z, in a few minutes i'm going back to my new cleveland dynasty, i love doing cleveland dynasty's with these roster updates because i have two huge contracts that i can release, shaq and z. The draft is strong this year i think, so i may draft a center with the first pick. I just hope there are some ilgauskas type of big men out there in the rookie draft, i'm either looking for a huge power forward or a 7'0 center who's no less than 24-, if i finish the first season today then i'll let you know how it goes. As for the small forward, i think i'll wait til this offseason and sign one of the undrafted rookies or something. The main thing my team neesd is a young center, a decent back up center , a small forward and maybe either a shooting gaurd or something. If i sign a small forward with a good rating, i'll probably trade him and one of my young stars like daniel gibson or somebody for kevin durant if portland has any roster space, right now during the season they don't, i could make a two for two trade but durant's rating is too high and none of my young stars ratings are high enough, most of them are in the 70's and i don't think portland would accept. Thanks for the replys, any more suggestions would be appreciated.

A young center I traded for is brook lopez, decent medium range j. I also have Oden who has good shotblocking inside the paint.
At 4, try looking at beasley.
I'm currently playing blake griffin for only 10 games in my first year of dynasty but his rating are great at 81. I dunno how he'll develop though. He has good rebounding and inside presence.
If you really want to get a superstar, consider roster space, salary cap, and other teams interest in the players you are trading. Or if you are near the trade deadline, you want to add a draft pick esp 1st rounders to add spice to the deal if your players rating are low. I think, I traded 3 players for durant. It was worth it.
At 2, O.J. Mayo is a good three pt shooter and good slasher.

Griffin is becoming an inside prescence, matching well against D. Howard. I am recommending him.

I could make a trade involving hickson, my 1st round rookie whomever that may be and maybe mo williams for griffin because i love griffin's rebounding skills. I could always develop him to be the next dwight howard, i like durant and i could change his position to a gaurd if he isn't on already, my choice is either going to be for blake or mayo, i really would like to develop him. We'll have plenty of cap space to sign some undrafted rookies or a star or two in the offseason, we have at least 5 or 6 free agents, i don't think i'll resign shaq or z or any of my free agents and that should leave me with at least 8 or 9 mil, maybe. I'd like to build my team around the three point shot and i may do a dynasty story with this team some time during my current season. I'm also thinking of trading jamero moon because of his age, and i don't like his midrange shot. I'm building my team around the three point shot, and i'm going to get a couple of big men who can score inside, and maybe an athletic small forward in the upcoming draft. I'll probably decide to go after mayo, because i'd like to develop him into a superstar stopper and outside scorer. I plan on bringing more defense onto this team as well, we're going to be a high scoring offense, with two big men who can block and score inside and one of the big men will be a good inside scorer, or i'll develop a rookie into one.
