@ Daddie9:

daddie9 was kind enough to create some classic arenas using reference pix and video.

Happy to hear you're getting an hand for the arenas... this will help for sure...

Daddie, I meant that since BAYAG has still a lot of work to get this beautiful patch done (and in some previous posts he wrote about his will to review all the jerseys and courts) I think is a good news hearing that somebody else already prepared some accurate arenas. I referred to arenas as a "whole"; it was pretty clear from BAYAG's quote that you made some brand new arenas (and not just an improvement/update from the existing ones). In addition, this will be aknowledged to everybody once the patch will be finished... Issue clarified and thanks a lot for your contribution! (Y)

teams included:
54 MPLS

i was feeling a little lazy so i just basically copied whatever i had in my sgsm. There may be some files that i use personally that will not end up in the final release. I'll attach credits list when completed. remember to back up your original files.

well mr duncan this is just a demo....just to show off part of the patch. the final patch should include most of those teams, but i encountered crashing issues with all the teams created. So i may have to cut some out,i just havent decided which ones yet.

I'll see what i can do....
I actually wanted feedback on the changes i made to the fatigue settings. I adjusted most starters fatigue to 62...which should give you a decent amount of sub rotation. you may notice that lamar odom is listed as a center on the lakers. I had to do that because dj mbenga was getting too much playing time lol.

to me it looks good, use can use the backborad stand. And i wish it was just the court but it was the whole thing, i spent hours building that dam dome from the ground up.

Well BAYAG, you’re the man! I like this demo really, really much; it’s graphically impressive and historically accurate… I think you’re on the right track!!! :applaud: Just some minor issues I’d like to share with you all… hoping to be helpful!!!

Regarding the fatigue settings, I’d say now the players get tired too much... I “studied” Andrew’s updated rosters with realistic fatigue settings because to me are really well made and work for real. Andrew used to give every bench player a stamina rated from 60 to 72 (with some exceptions regarding players at the really end of any team roster with values around 55, but I don’t consider this because in the NBA today there are some players which stay inactive for most of the season). The starting players WITHOUT ANY SUPERSTAR ABILITY are rated between 68 and 72: please remember that during a game, the “X-Factor” player from both sides will get tired slower than his normal pace!!! :cheeky: Every player with superstar ability has got a stamina value until 74. BAYAG, in my opinion (just an idea!) to get this done in a quick and effective way, you could use the following stamina ratings:

bench players: between 64 and 72
starting players without superstar ability: up to 72
starting players with any superstar ability (these are not affected by “X-Factor”!!!): up to 74

Now a couple of things:

First: I was playing Washington against Seattle and players didn’t dunk… pushing the dunk button, they don’t even jump… I tried Elvin Hayes and Wes Unseld even in Practice Mode but nothing changed… Then I tried with James Worthy and Kevin Garnett and everything was ok… The ratings for Hayes and Unseld look OK… maybe the “dunkpack” of new players (I mean the ones from the new teams added to last year's patch) has to be edited or something… :eh:

Second: In “reorder rosters” every bench player from 05 San Antonio has written in the left column “RI9” instead of “6”, “7”, “8” etc. I checked the players.dbf file, “ROSTERPOS” of San Antonio players needs a quick review… Easy solution… (Y)

That's all, keep going this way and congratulations again for the demo!!! :applaud:

cool..thats what i was looking for....as far as the dunking abilities of the centers..after watching vids..i didn't see alot of dunks from these players. But i'll change it so they can do simple dunks.

thanks for the input on fatigue settings..i'll adjust those too and spurs roster positions.

I'm surprised you guys didn't notice i forgot to change the 87 lakers coach. I think in your game it shows as mike dantoni. haha.

did you like the aiact file? if not link me to a good aiact file..and i can ask the author permission to add it for final release.

right now i'm in process of creating some players for the 75 warriors.....

Hi BAYAG, I played again and I like this aiact more than the previous one (that was good either, but the cpu was too prone to be called for offensive three seconds). Thank you for reviewing the dunk issue: in Live 07 even Earl Boykins jumps whenever the dunk button is pushed (resulting in a missed shot or a kind of layup), so it’s not normal that a player doesn’t even jump pushing that button… :P

In addition, I would raise my suggested minimum stamina rating from 64 to 66 for 3 reasons: avoiding the forced use of the 12th man on the roster whenever the starters are not in foul trouble, avoiding a mismatch damaging too much the old teams with a 10-11 man roster and also adding prominence to key reserves. Thank you for considering my suggestions, I just tried out what Andrew already did...

Then I found out something out of anyone’s control… As historically accurate, Seattle Sonics’ homecourt has no 3 point line… but if you score beyond an “ideal” 3 point arc you’re gonna make a 3 point play… Regarding any team coming before 1979-80 season playing at home, I think everyone of us could choose to play in the real arena facing this drawback or change the arena to a generic one for realism (even if it’s a pity!!!)… :| I guess it’s impossible to add a 3-point line in a custom-made court unless editing it again, isn’t it? :?

duncan: try reinstalling

fabri: thanks for the suggestions..as far as the court goes...i'd rather keep it accurate for pre 1980's courts. we all pretty know where the 3point line should be. Those courts can be opened with ebo editor and 3 point line placed into its proper place.

to all that enjoy bayag's mod and my arena s in the near future. You must understand that they are as histoical accurate as possible. So if the paint is slim or no 3pt line or longer 3 point line and no shot clock on top of basket it's because thats the way it was for that year and time. If there was a way to adjust setting of game play to have no 3pt shot it would be great.

Bayag like said before just keep the teams coming and i will deliver the arenas...

Yes daddie, I agree with you and BAYAG: this is an historical patch and choosing to keep a faithful copy of the reality is the right choice. The "fault" here comes from the game developers because, i.e., if one plays a game between '60s All-Stars and '70s All-Stars will meet the same kind of problem... :? By the way this is not a big issue, simulation is not gonna be affected by that during the season and is always possible to play games in different arenas (i.e. Springfield Memorial, the default All-Star Arena in the final version of the patch! :) ).
