I've picked up my NBA Live 09 Dynasty again, though once the new DLC for Fallout 3 comes out I'm sure I'll pick it up again for a day or two, much as I did with the Point Lookout DLC.

Fight Night is just killing time for me. Picked up Grid and Pure again over the weekend with a little Live 09 to try out someone's new roster which was actually pretty fun (scary)

Exploring, storyline, interesting RPG style leveling ups... yeah... Fallout 3 is addictive.

A friend came over last night and we played Super Mario World, two-player, from the beginning. I had forgotten how much fun that game is. Not just in a nostalgia (sp?) way, it's freaking awesome.

That game is the shit, and reminds me that I should really check to see how to get emulators on the 360 through media center

Thumbs up to retro gaming.

I'd agree that the appeal of some of the old games goes way beyond nostalgia, they were quality games.

How about Contra?
Mon Jul 06, 2009 11:38 pm
Must admit I've never played Contra.

Must admit that I've played more Little big Planet Contra than the real Contra

It's a real test of patience.

Currently playing Burnout Paradise in my laptop. Even though it has become a open-world exploration (much like NFS). I am liking it's Burnout style of graphics (shiny cars) and because my laptop can run it.
Hoping to get Mirror's Edge and a working copy of 2k9

When i first saw that game i thought it was some dumb wii game made for PS3. but it's actually fun when you have 4 people playing it.

Finally finished Prince of Persia (2008) incredible and terrific.
Finished Saint's Row 2 a while back.
Liked them both, kept me playing past when I should have slept. 8/10s all around. Prince of Persia is dangerously close to threatening Defense Grid for my game of 2008. Prince of Persia is probably the most beautiful game I've ever played. The sheer scope and design. Holy fuck. Breathtaking at times.

You liked Prince of Persia? It was insultingly easy and the ending was awful. Never played Saint's Row 2...
Just finished Fallout 3, and Broken Steel. Clocked 50 hours, but only got my character to level 23. I don't know how/if I'll max him out since the only quest I have left is the Nuka-Cola challenge and I don't have 3200 MS points to get the other 3 expansions.

I don't see "easy" as a negative if I still have fun. Especially with today's games which are all easy. The ending was definitely weaksauce (especially since I couldn't skip the credits to get back to the main menu and it failed by not running you back through the world during it) although I loved the filter, but the journey to get there was awesomesauce. I just loved running through the world and trying to get to the light seeds.
I hope there's a sequel that takes it to the next level and fixes the flaws like Assassin's Creed. But that's unlikely. I'm still glad I played it.

I recently finished Fallout 3, but without Broken Steel (I'll probably wait to get all of them and then spend some time doing new missions). Easily the most addictive game I've played so far.

NBA 2K9, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Super Mario 64 on the Virtual Console.
