Re: Do you feel sorry for Blake Griffin

Randolph could be a franchise player. He is one of the most gifted low post scorers in league history. The problem is, like Derrick Coleman, his head isn't on straight. Mike Dunleavy unfortunately isn't the coach to do that. Paul Silas barely managed Coleman enough for half a season. You need to find a coach willing to say to Randolph "you should be owning every one else in the league in the low post, while using your size to at least be average on defense...until you do that, you'll be sitting."

Not that this would faze Randolph who already has his big contract. Maybe as he gets older, like Coleman, he might recognize how much he's wasted his talents and put in a couple seasons of actual effort. Coleman basically bailed out the Hornets and Sixers once each by trying for half a season despite being well past his prime.

The Derrick Coleman comparison is spot on. I don't think Randolph would respond positively to that challenge though. I know it's just once incident but I go back to the tantrum he threw over being fined when he was late without an excuse. It makes me wonder if anything could get through to him.

Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman, Blake Griffin, Al Thornton -- it has the potential to be a very decent youth core if all that materializes into something of value eventually. Thornton and Gordon are playing like high-potential players at the moment, and Griffin as the consistent core of the team would eventually produce a great contender in the West.

Thornton is awful, while Kaman and Griffin are trapped behind inferior, immovable players.

I've heard that Thornton is giving Clipper fans (I know they exist, damn it! Don't tell me otherwise!) fits because he's as dumb as a brick and has absolutely horrid shot selection.

Clipper fans are basically Laker haters who live in LA.

For someone who has a high usage, Al Thornton's efficiency sucks.

I replaced my "Wins Over Antoine Walker" stat with "Wins Over Al Thornton" this year. Walker retired to the point where he's appearing on Pros vs. Joes (and missing about ten three pointers from 30 feet) and Thornton is basically the worst player to play high minutes. (PER doesn't help him much either.)

Wow, never knew Rasual Butler "leads" with that PER and yet Byron Scott still loves him.
