Jao's PC mod Suppliment Patches

So here we are, a year and change after this project was first proposed and we finally have a 1.0 to work off of. Unfortunately, motivation and real life issues marred my personal involvement but now I got this fresh game smell and ready to start pounding out some patches and mods.


Depth of Field
First off, for better screenshot taking, I would recommend the ENBseries Depth of Field modification that I configured a while back.

This is started by pressing Shift and F12 at the same time. I would not recommend using this during normal gameplay, but for screenshots and certain replay angles this looks great.

FYI, F12 is NBA Live's default shortcut for taking tga formatted screengrabs. To avoid & disable this conflict you can go to NBA Live 06 / main / cscripts and open xstartup.cfg in notepad. You then want to add "// " to the screen capture bindings. So make it look like this.

"Smooth Replay Camera"
This is one that pdub figured out after I found that Live 03 and 04 had a smoother replay camera, giving a more realistic motion to manual replays and therefore gameplay mixes. Here is one of my many videos that utilize it.

Better Court Sounds
This updates the soundFX you hear on the court with the ones from 2005. It has a better block, dribble, and rim soundFX noises.

Place in the NBA LIVE 06 \ audio \ aems folder

BETA AIACT
This AIACT is a BETA, it has its flaws, but it's a bit different. It is out of date and I don't plan to continue on with it right now, going to start fresh instead, but feel free to have some fun with it.

Dahl Net Tweak
This is a tweaked texture I applied to Dahl's amazing net patch. I removed the red rim part of it so that it displays properly on orange rims. Place it in your SGSM folder.

08's 3D Crowd (Generic)
This one adds a generic (no team jerseys) but better looking 3D crowd to all of your courts. This will take care of any weird looking 3D crowd member issues you may run into.

Again, place these 2 files in your SGSM folder

Feels good to have a complete 09 update for this game right now. My plan now is to make this game feel different from 06. Unfortunately I feel like 06 is an Arcade type of game, and I do like to embrace that, but I have a few ideas of how to emulate the gameplay from the 09 basketball games on the 360 and we can see where they take me.

FYI for everyone, my AIACT stuff went bust over the weekend, no real surprise there though.

I don't really have an estimate on when I'll be able to work on it again, but more supplemental patches should be on their way.

do u think u can toy with the current 08 shoe patches and release it without pink reflections?

been down that road before, I believe my BETA startup for this project included converted 08 shoes

took way too long, but I did automate it, if I find the batch file that converted them, I'll post it, but I am not doing that again

when i included the shoedbf and the xshoe file
it did not work because some of the players had pink shoes
i would like to see kobe wear hyperdunks

shoes in 06 has only 1 file for both reflection and the shoe itself....whilst 08 has 2 separate files for them...

correct, I had setup a batch file using fshline that would extract both textures from the 08 shoes, rename them, and then import them into 06 fsh files. However, when I checked the old computer this morning, the folder with the batch file and such was gone. Sorry guys.

i would be happy to do it if you could remember the syntax...

That is a very good patch. Thanks for the reminder. I just wondered if some of the 07 ones could be modified to work. For example, Jakarta made some VIP and Sideline cams among the other cams available.

you are also aware that 06 has the original sideline and centercourt cameras as well right?

I understand the want for custom cameras, but before I go to town with them, I actually first want to recreate the old school NBA Live camera.

the merlin folder...backup the original dude..
