"Classic Teams 07 Finals Challenge" Questions

I just installed NBA Live 07 and thought this would be an awesome patch/mod to install to get some of my all-time favorite Lakers teams. I followed the instructions up until the point my computer warned me that it would replace existing files. It turns out that NBA Live 07 already comes with folders for "SGSM" and "AI" and I am a little bit leery of overwriting default files. Can somebody help me with this? What are the ramifications if I install overwrite my original files? I do not currently have any saved games as I just installed the game so there are no worries there.

You don't need to overwrite the folders, man. Just enter the exact folder in the archive and unzip all of the files inside it to the same folder in Live 07 directory. If you haven't installed any patches yet, this way you won't overwrite files, just create new (unless they are something like new aiact or jerseys/courts that already exist).

OK, let's see if I can explain this better. When I attempted to unzip the files to their respective directory, I was asked if I wanted to overwrite existing files. My question is specifically, what ramifications are there if I do this? What files is it changing? I thought this was just an add-on in adding teams. If I am overwriting existing files, what am I losing?

I've already downloaded the main EA patch as suggested by the "Classic Teams" authors.

SGSM is the art folder, though from memory it just adds new files rather than overwriting existing ones. The way the game is set up to load custom art files, you don't necessarily have to overwrite anything to add new stuff. The AI folder is likely an aiact.viv update, so you should back up that folder in case there are any problems. In fact, you might want to backup both of those folders in case there are any issues so you can easily restore them but there shouldn't be any problems.
