Around The League

Dwyane Wade wins Player of The Month award.

Image

--Dwyane Wade took the Eastern Conference Player of the Month honors, leading the Heat to a 6-2 record
in November with a solid all-around game throughout the month. He averaged just 16.6 points, but added
6.7 assists, 3.7 rebounds, 0.6 blocks and a NBA-best 3.1 steals.

--Allen Iverson won the award in the West, despite the Nuggets being just 6-5. But his stats were like
his Philly days. He averaged 23.1 points, 10 assists and 2.3 steals, to go along with a solid 4.6 rebounds
and half a block.

--Rookies are not very good this year, as it shoved when Nelson Lue of the Sixers took the award. He
averaged a point, a block, an assists and 1.5 boards a night, playing in two games. In the West
however, 8th overall pick Jonathan Herrara who is starting for the Spurs at PF, averaged a rookie
best 9.5 points and 6.1 rebounds.

Dwight not fitting well wit the Pistons.

Image

--To quote most of the local press in Florida, an "idiotic trade" by the Magic which sent Dwight Howard
to the Pistons for Chaunsey Billups, hasn't worked out for wither team. Pistons coach Curry decided
to bench Rasheed Wallace and that hasn't worked out at all. The Pistons, facing Miami next are 6-6,
not what you'd expect it to be. The Pistons also acquired Matt Barnes and Travis Outlaw for Carlos
Delfino and Antonio Mcdyess. Some would say, they got the better end in each deal, but nothin has
come out. Dwight does average a career best 25.2 points.

--The Magic, with a messed up Line-up are even worse, bottom third in the East with 4-8 record.
Jameer Nelson comes off the bench, Mickael Pietrus also. And the starting Center is Adonal Foyle.
That's not a recipe for a Championship.

Good luck, it's going to be tough against Detroit and Atlanta, but as long as D12 doesn't fit with the Pistons, it's not going to be so hard. It all looks stunning, good job. :)

Week 7-8 recap

Game #1 :

Image Miami 124 @ 122 Detroit Image

Wade seals the deal in OT.

Rodney Stuckey's three-pointer took the game to OT, but D-wade's jumper and key steal led the Heat to a
OT win over the Pistons. The new-look Pistons played well, despite falling to 6-7 on the year. Dwyane Wade
finished with a season-high 43 points. Michael Beasley added 30. Udonis Haslem was a key once again off
the bench, scoring 19. Dwight Howard, who became a Piston during the summer, led the way with 28 and
13 rebounds. Dwyane Wade scored on a jumper with 2.9 seconds to go. With no time-outs for the Pistons,
they fired a pass to about mid-court, when D-Wade was ready to intercept. Wade missed both free throws,
but the Pistons failed to score on their next possession.

Key 3 performers :

Dwyane Wade : 43 points, 9 assists, 8 steals, 14-22 FG, 15-21 FT
Michael Beasley : 30 points, 7 rebounds, 12-24 FG
Udonis Haslem : 19 points, 9 rebounds, 8-11 FG, 1-1 3PT, 2-2 FT
--------------
Dwight Howard : 28 points, 13 rebounds, 14-17 FG
Juan Dixon : 26 points, 8 assists, 4-5 3PT
Amir Johnson : 15 points, 10 rebounds, 5 blocks, 7-12 FG
------------------------------------------------

Game #2 :

Image Miami 104 @ 100 Seattle Image

Wade clutch once again, Heat beat Sonics.

Dwyane Wade proved why he's an early MVP candidate once again, scoring on a lay-up with 9.8 seconds to go
and Kyle Korver knocked down two free throws to beat the Sonics. Wade cooled off a bit after a 43 point
night and finished with a modest 23 points. Kyle Korver added 18 points off the bench. Kevin Durant led
the Sonics with 34 points and 9 assists.

Key 3 performers :

Dwyane Wade : 23 points, 8 assists, 7 assists, 5 steals, 7-17 FG, 8-8 FT
Kyle Korver : 18 points, 5-6 3PT, 3-3 FT
Michael Beasley : 31 points, 7 rebounds
--------------
Kevin Durant : 34 points, 9 assists, 13-24 FG, 7-7 FT, 1 TO
Damien Wilkins : 21 points, 7 rebounds, 2-3 3PT
Russell Westbrook : 9 points, 3-9 FG, 6 TO
------------------------------------------------

Game #3 :

Image Atlanta 86 @ 83 Miami Image

Heat almost complete comeback, fall short at home.

After an 18 points deficit at the half and not being able to shrink it in the third, it looked sad for the Heat.
The bench started scoring at will and playing superb defense. They held the Hawks to just 17 points, while
scoring 33 themselves, but it wasn't enough, as Korver couldn't send the game to OT. Only two players
shot more then ten shots for the Heat, but they weren't who you'd expect them to be. They were Tyson
Chandler and Kyle Korver. Korver also led the scoring with 14. Ex-Heat Shawn Marion led the way with 24.

Key 3 performers :

Kyle Korver : 14 points, 5-12 FG, 4-9 3PT
Tyson Chandler : 10 points, 10 rebounds, 3-11 FG
Udonis Haslem : 13 points, 4 rebounds, 6-9 FG
--------------
Shawn Marion : 24 points, 9 rebounds, 10-21 FG
Marvin Williams : 17 points, 9 rebounds, 8-14 FG
Joe Johnson : 5 points, 3 assists, 11 minutes, 1-3 FG
------------------------------------------------

Record : 2-1
Wade Total Points : 79
Chandler Total Blocks : 8
Korver total made three pointers : 10
Josh Smith total blocks + steals :1

Scoreboard :

1. -PeeBo : (18) + 4 = 22
2. ratrac : (13) + 8 = 21
3. thierryhenry50 : (5) + 3 = 8
4. mandich : (0) + 4 = 4

I really hope there will be more people in next weeks competition :)

Week 9-10 recap

Game #1 :

Image Miami 131 @ 97 Philadelphia Image

| MIA | 31 | 30 | 34 | 36 || 131 ||
| PHI | 18 | 20 | 28 | 31 || 97 ||

Korver scores career-high as Heat blow out the Sixers.

Kyle Korver felt at home, playing in Philly, a team that he first played back in '03. Korver was in the groove,
scoring 33 points, beating previous career high of 31. The game was pretty much decided with the first
two quarters, entering with a 23 point lead and not stopping there. The Heat scored more then 30 in every
quarter, a feat none other team has managed this season. Wade continued his stellar play as of late,
finishing with a double-double. Elton Brand led the Sixers with 28.

Key 3 performers :

Dwyane Wade : 29 points, 11 assists, 4 steals, 11-17 FG, 7-7 FT
Kyle Korver : 33 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, 9-16 FG, 6-10 3PT, 9-9 FT
Michael Beasley : 16 points, 5 rebounds, 7-15 FG, 2-2 FT
--------------
Elton Brand : 28 points, 13 rebounds, 4 blocks, 14-19 FG
Andre Iguodala : 15 points, 8 assists, 7-10 FG
Samuel Dalambert : 4 points, 1-11 FG, 2-3 FT
------------------------------------------------

Game #2 :

| MIA | 26 | 23 | 34 | 33 || 108 ||
| CHA | 26 | 18 | 28 | 29 || 101 ||

Heat hold off Bobcats late.

The Heat only made a season-low 3 three-pointers, but thanks to the difference in second chance points,
the Heat beat the Bobcats in Charlotte. Wade and Korver, who had combined for 62 points two days ago,
combined for not even half of that, but the superb play by Tyson Chandler led the Heat. Raymond Felton
scored 21 in the 4th, but couldn't carry the 'Cats to the victory

Key 3 performers :

Dwyane Wade : 19 points, 5 assists, 5 steals, 8-17 FG, 3-3 FT
Tyson Chandler : 27 points, 11 rebounds, 13-16 FG
Michael Beasley : 14 points, 8 rebounds
--------------
Raymond Felton : 32 points, 8 assists, 10-28 FG, 4-10 3PT, 7-7 FT
Emeka Okafor : 16 points, 8 rebounds, 6-11 FG
Jason Richardson : 14 points, 4-6 FG
------------------------------------------------

Record : 2-0
Wade Total Points : 48
Chandler Total Blocks : 6
Korver total made three pointers : 7
Josh Smith total blocks + steals :5

Scoreboard :

1. ratrac : (21) + 11 = 33
2. -PeeBo : (22) + 8 = 30
3. mandich : (4) + 6 = 10
4. thierryhenry50 : (8) + 0 = 8

Week 11-12 recap

Game #1 :

| MIA | 22 | 28 | 33 | 36 || 119 ||
| POR | 30 | 31 | 29 | 26 || 116 ||

Heat rally to victory.

The young Blazers battled hard the whole game, but couldn't hold on for the win late as the Heat took
its first lead with 1.02 to go. Kyle Korver hit some clutch shots and free throws down the stretch, and
Brandon Roy, whose target was off all night, couldn't hit the game-tying jumper. And so the Heat finished
January without a defeat. Wade led the offense with 23 points, Mike Beasley added a double-double.

Key 3 performers :

Michael Beasley : 18 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists, 7-14 FG, 4-4 FT
Dwyane Wade : 23 points, 6 assists, 4 steals, 9-13 FG, 6-10 3PT, 5-5 FT

--------------
Jerryd Bayless : 25 points, 7 assists, 9-13 FG, 3-4 3PT, 4-4 FT
Greg Oden : 20 points, 7 rebounds, 8-15 FG
Brandon Roy : 13 points, 5-14 FG, 0-4 3PT, 3 TO
------------------------------------------------

Game #2 :

| MIA | 36 | 27 | 34 | 35 || 127 ||
| UTH | 17 | 12 | 23 | 31 || 84 ||

Heat start superb, blow out Jazz.

Korver seems to like to destroy his older teams, scoring 20 points in 14 minutes as the Heat cruised
to a 43 point win. The scoring was balanced, with 6 players reaching double figures. Plus Haslem and
Dorell both chipped in 9, Josh Smith finished with 8. Since Josh Smith arrived in South Beach, he
hasn't reached the 10 point mark yet. His name is speculated in trade rumors, with the trade deadline
approaching quickly.
NOTE : The Heat bench outscored the Jazz counterparts 59-3; The Heat knocked down a season high
16 three-pointers; Josh Smith average this season is 6.6 points;

Key 3 performers :

Dwyane Wade : 21 points, 2 assists, 2 steals, 7-11 FG, 6-7 FT
Kyle Korver : 20 points, 7-10 FG, 6-9 3PT
Udonis Haslem : 9 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists
--------------
Deron Williams : 22 points, 8-15 FG, 4-6 3PT
Andrei Kirilenko : 25 points, 4 blocks, 10.18 FG
Carlos Boozer : 11 points, 4-12 FG, 5 fouls
------------------------------------------------

Record : 2-0
Wade Total Points : 44
Chandler Total Blocks : 2
Korver total made three pointers : 7
Josh Smith total blocks + steals :4

Scoreboard :

2. -PeeBo : (30) + 5 = 35
3. thierryhenry50 : (8) + 6 = 14
4. mandich : (10) + 0 = 10

I really hope there will be more people in next weeks competition :)

I forgot the price - the winner will be the 1st pick in my draft. More specific info after the season.

Around The League

Heat pull trigger, Big Ben Florida bound.

Image Image

In what was just a speculation a few days ago, the Heat have pulled off the biggest block-buster yet this regular season.
After a superb 15-4 start, Josh Smith will pack his bags and his new home will be with Lebron in Cleveland, Ohio. Zaza
Pachulia was also part of the deal. The Heat acquired 4-time defensive player Ben Wallace. Pat Riley stated, that Ben's
defensive skills weren't the trigger on this deal, it was his huge 16M expiring contract.
" We respect everything Ben does defensively, but we also need cap flexibility in the summer. We thank Josh and Zaza
for all their effort they've put into this organization."

The official announcement was Tuesday, right after the Heat and Celtics game. Josh Smith played in that game, now knowing,
where he was headed the next day.

Yao, Garnett earn player of the month honors.

Image

Yao Ming and Kevin Garnett were honored with the Player of the Month award for their respective efforts in January.

Yao led the Rockets to a 6-1 record in January, averaging 26 points, 14 boards, 6 assists and 2.3 blocks. He also had
a triple double with 21 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists against Portland.

KG led the Celtics to a 7-1 record, averaging 22 and 11 boards with 5 dimes.

Source : Wade Beasley get All-Star nod.

Image

A source close to the NBA has revealed, that Heat players Dwyane Wade and Michael Beasley are headed to the All-Star Game. It was
also declared, that Wade will get the start. Other revealed starters included Andrea Bargnani, Stephon Marbury, Caron Butler, David
West, Rashard Lewis among others.

NOTE : When you post your prediction, It's no longer Josh Smith block+steal.

It's now :

Predicted record : Only accurate gives 3 points.
Wade total points : (+/- 7 points.)
Chandler total blocks : (+/- 2 blocks.)
Korver total made three pointers : (+/- 1 made.)
Ben Wallace rebounds : (+/- 5.)

NOTE : Big Ben didn't play in the first game, predict only with 2 games. He will start.
