Lakers Season Opener at HomeDenver Nuggets @
Los Angeles Lakers Nov. 2nd
Kobe led the Lakers to a quick start as he exploded in the first half for 27 points. Kobe ended up finishing with 39 with 6 assists and 1 block! The Lakers did an amazing job stopping Carmelo all throughout the game leaving him with a dissapointing 17 points. Both the Nuggets and the Lakers had many turnovers, but it equaled out since they each had 16 turnovers. Lakers did a great job on their boards as Gasol, Bynum, and Odom got double-doubles with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Lakers also had many blocks and forced the Nuggets to take more outside shots. Nuggets had a poor FG%, but when they got fouled they took advantage of it and made their free throws. In the end the Lakers managed to beat the Nuggets with a double-digit lead and take home a nice opening game

Utah Jazz Nov. 3rd

Kobe Bryant led the Lakers to their 2nd win with 26 points, who shot perfect from downtown, but struggled at the free throw line only hitting 50% of his free throws. Gasol had a monster game with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 blocks. Raja Bell rang the bell shooting 6 of 8 from down town, ending the game with 26 points. AK-47 also helped out late getting 9 of his 19 points in the 4th quarter. Deron Williams also had a nice game with 12 assists. Whenever Bynum got the ball he threw up a hook shot and it kept going in. Deron Williams was hacked by Pau Gasol, going up for a lay-up, and has Back Spasms for 1-2 weeks. Lakers really took advantage on defense as they had 13 blocks, and held the Jazz to 38% FG shooting. The Lakers took this game in a 20-point sweep with the help of their defense, the bench players sharing 30 points, and out-rebounding the jazz by 8 rebounds.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged.
One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world.
The other, of course, involves orcs.” — John Rogers
