I have made this journal over at football-freaks.com, but thatwizardguy recommended I post it here, as well, because football-freaks doesn't have the biggest basketball following (you can guess why by the name.) So far I'm 6-6. I am going to re-post every post from the other thread here. I hope you enjoy.

Here's the original:

Suns start season strong in Portland

Portland, Oregon - The Phoenix Suns started their season off strong with a 107-88 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. The game was owned by forward Grant Hill, who had 22 points, 4 assists, and 3 blocks. He wasn't the leading scorer, however, as Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge put up a massive 37 points. He couldn't lead them to a win, however. No one else was ever really on their game for Portland.

Starters:

Phoenix:

PG: #13 Steve Nash
SG: #25 Vince Carter
SF: #33 Grant Hill
PF: #8 Channing Frye
C: #15 Robin Lopez

Portland:

Suns play shockingly poorly in Utah

Salt Lake City, Utah - Phoenix couldn't hit anything in a 112-91 loss to the Utah Jazz. Steve Nash was as cold as he's ever been. Hill didn't even come close to his previous performance. The player of the game was Al Jefferson, who put up 22 points, in addition to 7 rebounds. He wouldn't finish the game, however, as he injured his back and will miss 1-2 weeks. Phoenix's record now stands at 1-1.

Starters:

Phoenix:

PG: #13 Steve Nash
SG: #25 Vince Carter
SF: #33 Grant Hill
PF: #8 Channing Frye
C: #15 Robin Lopez

Utah:

PG: #8 Deron Williams

Bryant posts 41 as Lakers top Suns 104-94

Phoenix, Arizona - Kobe Bryant was basically Los Angeles' entire offense, scoring 41 points in the Lakers' 104-94 win over Phoenix. Phoenix was dominating in the first half, but cooled off in the second. They were down by over ten, but they wouldn't stop until the clock hit zero. It was a valiant effort, but the Suns again fell. Their leading scorer was Vince Carter, who had 27 points the day after his horrible game in Utah. Phoenix is now 1-2 on the season.

Starters:

Los Angeles Lakers:

PG: #2 Derek Fisher
SG: #24 Kobe Bryant
SF: #15 Ron Artest
PF: #16 Pau Gasol
C: #17 Andrew Bynum

Phoenix:

PG: #13 Steve Nash
SG: #25 Vince Carter
SF: #33 Grant Hill
PF: #8 Channing Frye
C: #15 Robin Lopez

Suns announce lineup change

The Phoenix Suns will move Channing Frye back to the backup C/PF spot, while moving Marcin Gortat to the PF spot. Gortat isn't a scorer, but he's a good defender. Frye will still get extensive playing time. The Suns want to get more big men in playing, seeing that they are one of the worst rebounding teams and have a defense that fails in tough spots.

(New depth chart)

PG: #1 Steve Nash; #2 Goran Dragic; #22 Zabian Dowdell ( R )
SG: #25 Vince Carter; #12 Mickael Pietrus
SF: #33 Grant Hill; #3 Jared Dudley; #1 Josh Childress

Parker dishes career best 17 assists in win over Suns

Phoenix, Arizona - Wow. Just, wow. The Suns looked lost and helpless in a 136-108 loss to San Antonio. Tony Parker was throwing dimes everywhere. Tim Duncan looked like Kobe, LeBron, Larry Bird and MJ all in one. His 28 points, combined with 21 from Manu Ginobili, made the Suns go down a lot, very fast. It looked like, at one point, they just gave up. Only Gani Lawal, Goran Dragic, and Steve Nash put any effort in after 3 quarters. The leading scorer for Phoenix was: Does it really matter? The Suns are now 1-3, and they are starting to look pathetic. Only a miracle could set them straight.

Starters:

San Antonio:

PG: #9 Tony Parker
SG: #20 Manu Ginobili
SF: #24 Richard Jefferson
PF: #21 Tim Duncan
C: #45 DeJuan Blair

Phoenix:

PG: #13 Steve Nash
SG: #25 Vince Carter
SF: #33 Grant Hill
PF: #4 Marcin Gortat
C: #15 Robin Lopez

Suns rout Grizzlies 130-95

Phoenix, Arizona - Phoenix certainly got back on track against the Memphis Girzzlies, cruising to a 130-95 win. Vince Carter was on fire, getting 26 points and 4 assists, and being named the player of the game. Memphis couldn't do much until right at the end, when the game was already decided long before. Mercy points, basically. Rookie forward Gani Lawal looked good in relief duty. Memphis' leading scorer was Zach Randolph, who hit 26. With the win, Phoenix is 2-3.

Starters:

Memphis:

PG #11 Michael Conley
SG #13 Xavier Henry
SF #22 Rudy Gay
PF #50 Zach Randolph
C #33 Marc Gasol

Phoenix:

PG #13 Steve Nash

Suns blow it versus Hawks

Atlanta, Georgia - Same story, different day. The Suns start hot, have an unimaginable amount of turnovers, and end up massively blowing it. Al Horford was the player of the game in the Suns' 120-100 loss to Atlanta, againt showing the Suns' inability to stop the big men. He had 21 points and 6 rebounds. The Suns have an awful defense and a disappointing offense. It can't get any worse than this, can it? Phoenix is now 2-4.

Starters:

Phoenix:

PG #13 Steve Nash
SG #25 Vince Carter
SF #33 Grant Hill
PF #8 Channing Frye
C #15 Robin Lopez

Atlanta:

PG #10 Mike Bibby
SG #2 Joe Johnson

Suns roll past Grizzlies 97-62

Memphis, Tennessee - The Suns once again beat the Grizzlies, dismantling them 97-62. If there's one team you can count on Phoenix beating, it's Memphis. The Suns are hot one day, cold the next. The player of the game was Vince Carter, who put up 20 points. Phoenix is 3-4.

Starters:

Phoenix:

PG #13 Steve Nash
SG #25 Vince Carter
SF #33 Grant Hill
PF #8 Channing Frye
C #15 Robin Lopez

Memphis:

Suns dominate Kings behind Carter's 19 points

Phoenix, Arizona - The Suns looked strong again, for a change, starting something not heard of around here. A winning streak. Vince Carter was strong again, putting up 19 points as the Suns won 96-71. The Kings got the lead early and fast, but then pulled a Phoenix and started missing everything. After the half, they didn't stand a chance. Mickael Pietrus was a monster off the bench. The Suns, with the win, are now 4-4.

Starters:

Sacramento:

PG #16 Jerryd Bayless
SG #13 Tyreke Evans
SF #20 Donte Green
PF #34 Jason Thompsom
C #15 DeMarcus Cousins

Suns trade Gortat to Knicks

The Phoenix Suns have traded Marcin Gortat and their 2012 first-round draft pick to the New York Knicks for rookie center Timofey Mozgov. Gortat has been less than impressive in his time with Phoenix this year.

Suns snap Lakers 9-game streak with 106-101 win

Los Angeles, California - Phoenix won again, this time against the previously undefeated Los Angeles Lakers. The Suns appear to be settling in after a disappointing start, beating Los Angeles 106-101. Steve Nash was dominating, with 24 points and 10 assists. The Lakers scoring leader was, of course, Kobe Bryant. This game was sweet revenge for Phoenix, who lost to Los Angeles earlier in the year. The Suns are now 5-4.

Starters:

Phoenix:

PG #13 Steve Nash
SG #25 Vince Carter
SF #33 Grant Hill
PF #8 Channing Frye

Nash a standout as Suns rock Nuggets 118-101

Phoenix, Arizona - Steve Nash was incredible in Phoenix's 118-101 win over Denver, piling up 24 points and 9 assists. The Nuggets only scored that many points becuase the Suns were giving them Mercy points the entire second half. Why, you may ask? The Suns led by over 40 at halftime. The Nuggets are the worst team in the NBA, yes, but this was just ridiculous. The now 6-4 Suns have a tough game soon, going up against the league-best Miami Heat.

Injury note: Vince Carter injured his ankle. He will be day-to-day, and it is not known if he will miss any time.

Starters:

Denver:

PG #1 Chauncey Billups
SG #5 J. R. Smith
SF #15 Carmelo Anthony

Heat rally in 4th, down Suns 108-100

Miami, Florida - The Suns were ahead the entire game, leading by over 20 at one point, but, as usual, they found a way to blow it with less than two minutes left in the game, losing 108-100. Steve Nash was mostly on fire, but LeBron James was, of course, named the player of the game. He had 37 points and 6 rebounds. Phoenix's leader was Steve Nash, who had 41 points and 8 assists. Phoenix is now 6-5, and their winning streak is over.

Injury update: Vince Carter looked sluggish on the court, barely running at 25% speed. His ankle is clearly bothering him, but he still managed 12 points while playing all but 9 minutes of the game.

Starters:

Phoenix:

PG #13 Steve Nash
SG #25 Vince Carter
SF #33 Grant Hill
PF #8 Channing Frye
C #15 Robin Lopez

Nash scores 15,000th career point in loss to Magic

Orlando, Florida - The Suns were down by a ton, got the lead, and then blew it late in the game once again, losing to the Magic in a defensive game 80-79. Steve Nash was good for awhile, but when it counted, he couldn't hit anything. He did, however, score his 15,000th career point. Dwight Howard was the player of the game, hitting 20 points in addition to 15 rebounds. The Suns are now 6-6.

Injury update: Carter was so slow in the game, he was still back behind the half court line when the shot clock was nearing zero. He was passing poorly, running slowly, and looked awful. If he doesn't get completely better by the next gmae, expect him to sit the game, or at least only play as a reserve.

Starters:

Phoenix:

PG #13 Steve Nash
SG #25 Vince Carter
SF #33 Grant Hill

Carter shines in Suns' win over Bobcats

Charlotte, North Carolina - Vince Carter was fully healthy and it showed in the Suns' 93-83 win over the Bobcats. He had 24 points, 3 steals, and 5 assists. The Bobcats' leading scorer was Gerald Wallace, who had 21. The Suns got the lead early, and never lost it. They lead by 20 at one time. The Suns are now 7-6.

Suns win as Lopez grabs career high 18 rebounds

Houston, Texas - Vince Carter, who had 34 points, was the player of the game in the Phoenix Suns' 99-86 win over the Houston Rockets. Robin Lopez also played very well, setting a career high record of 18 rebounds. Steve Nash had a bad day, but the biggest surprise was Goran Dragic. He was absolutely awful. He played trrbll defense (as Charles Barkley would say) and he was 0-6 shooting, but had 4 points on free throws. The Rockets' leading scorer was Kevin Martin, who had 31. The Suns are now 8-6.

Injury report: The only injury was to the Rockets' Yao Ming, and it was a big one. He went down after about two minutes, and was diagnosed with a lower back strain. He will miss 1-2 weeks. They had a poor defense for the rest of the game. This may be trouble.

Starters:

Phoenix:

PG #13 Steve Nash
SG #25 Vince Carter
SF #33 Grant Hill
PF #8 Channing Frye
C #15 Robin Lopez

Houston:

PG #0 Aaron Brooks
SG #12 Kevin Martin

PC. Sorry about no pics. I've never taken pics for journals of mine. I've done about five. Four were football. This is my first basketball one. How about this; a pic of the player of the game, and a pic of the box score and stats?

EDIT: How about videos? I could use Fraps to record the player of the game video.

Suns beat Bulls in overtime thriller 109-106

Phoenix, Arizona - Luol Deng was being left wide open every time he got the ball. He was scoring like a madman. Phoenix was down from the get go. That all changed in one play. Luol Deng got the basketball, held on a little too long, and had it swept away by Jared Dudley, who got a lot of playing time due to poor play by Grant Hill. Phoenix caught up, and forced overtime. They played good defense in OT, and, when it counted, Deng failed. Nash got the ball, jumped up, and nailed the buzzer-beater at the end. Steve Nash was the player of the game. He had 36 points, one more than Deng, 9 assists, and a block. Vince Carter had quite an effect as well. When he came in, he energized the Suns. With Nash and Carter, the Suns beat the Chicago Bulls in an overtime thriller, 109-106. In addition, Robin Lopez broke his rebound record he set against Houston, recording 21 this time. There was one surprise. Goran Dragic, who had a terrible game against Houston, was inactive. He was replaced by center Garret Siler, who was active for the first time this year. With the win, the Suns are now 9-6.

Starters:

Chicago:

PG #1 Derrick Rose
SG #6 Keith Bogans
SF #9 Luol Deng
PF #5 Carlos Boozer
C #13 Joakim Noah

Phoenix:

PG #13 Steve Nash
SG #25 Vince Carter
SF #33 Grant Hill
PF #8 Channing Frye
C #15 Robin Lopez
