Image

We saw one of the most perspective players in the NBA in today's game when the Clippers hosted the Golden State Warriors in the Bay Area.Blake Griffin,Eric Bledsoe,DeAndre Jordan,Aminu,Steph Curry,Monta Ellis, these are some of the guys who will gonna be the future of the NBA.
The game started with a 18-4 run for the Warriors but some great plays from Eric Bledsoe tied the game at the end of the quarter. After strong 2nd the Clippers were leading at the half but amazing performance in the 3rd quarter for the Warriors led them to a impressive 42 to 19 and they were feeling sure winners.Stephen Curry showed the Warriors front office that they found a really good replacement for Baron Davis. The young point guard dropped 38 points and 14 assists for the win.Monta Ellis added 22.That was their 2nd win after beating the Houston Rockets in the opening night of the season.
For the losing LA Clippers,Blake Griffin was the topscorer again with 25 points,9 rebounds and 5 assists.Eric Bledsoe scored all of his 16 points in the first half.Eric Gordon added 15.

GAME THREE

Los Angeles Clippers 26 | 20 | 20 | 33 | 99

Kevin Durant was unstoppable as the Thunder forced the Clippers to their 4th straight loss

ImageImage

The Clippers who were one of the most sympathetic teams so far this season were going in this game against the Thunder after three losses.Blake Griffin still couldn't be the type of player everyone want him to be - a true leader. But its normal he's just into his 4th NBA game.
The OKC Thunder were struggling too, after a 50-32 season last year and great performance against the Lakers in the playoffs, they were standing at 0-4 before this game.
After an equal half, the result was 46-46.Blake Griffin was playing at his best with 9 points,7 rebounds and 5 assists at the half.On the other side surprisingly James Harden was the key player for the Thunder with 14 first half points.
Oklahoma won the 3rd quarter after great performance by both Durant and Ibaka.Ibaka scored 12 of his 15 points in this quarter, while Durant was setting plays for his teammates and he also scored 10 in this quarter.
The last quarter was one of the most entertaining quarters of this season so far.The game entered its last two minutes with 14 points lead for Oklahoma.Despite the amazing 7 three pointers scored by the Clippers in the last 4 minutes,Kevin Durant was answering them with and one plays everytime.Kevin finished with 44 points,34 of them scored in the 2nd half.
Finally,OKC won it 105 to 99.

Clippers involved in a blockbuster trade

Image

There were a lot of rumors last weeks that Steve Nash was on the trading block and some teams were looking to add him.Clippers,Kings,Nets,Knicks were looking for his signature but finally the Clippers were the winners. The rebuilding Phoenix Suns received 2011 1st draft pick of the clippers, they also took the first round draft pick from next year's draft. And thats not all they took Baron Davis and Randy Foye.In exchange LA Clippers received 2 times NBA MVP,7th time all-star,3 time all-nba first team veteran point guard - Steve Nash + the 6'9'' power forward nicknamed "Helicopter'',Hakim Warrick.
Just hours after this deal was pronounced, the Memphis Grizzlies and the LA Clippers agreed on a deal sending Ike Diogu to Memphis and Tony Allen to the Clippers. The two teams also exchanged their 2011 2nd round picks.

Two nice trades, although I hate it from a Suns' fan's standpoint.

Los Angeles won surprisingly in San Antonio

Image

Well, this is probably the best Clippers game so far this season. After a tough start and on a 7-game losing streak,Los Angeles were heading to Texas. They were going to meet the San Antonio Spurs.
San Antonio were called sure winners in this game.
Amazing start of the game for Steve Nash who had 8 assists in the first quarter led the LAC to 32 to 17 start and 15 point lead.We were watching another team but not the Clippers from the first 8 games of the season.Blake Griffin was doing great job because Tim Duncan sit on the bench after 1 minute and a half of play because of 2 personal fouls.Tony Parker became the main threat for the Clippers. He was the only player of the Spurs who was trying to do something on to win the game.Ginobili was cold,he was missing from everywhere.
At the end of the 3rd quarter Tim Duncan had 0pts,0/6FG,4 personal fouls and only 1 rebound. The rookie was taking over the veteran.Blake had 26 points after 3 quarters.
At one point in the 4th the game was tied as you can see the picture above but Blake made the highlight of the night dunking on Tim Duncan(that was Duncan's 6th foul).

Blake Griffin - 37pts,11reb,2ast
Eric Gordon - 23pts,4ast,4reb
Steve Nash - 18pts,2reb,10ast

GAME THREE

Detroit Pistons 11 | 26 | 23 | 21 | 81
Los Angeles Clippers 27 | 30 | 26 | 24 | 107

Blake Griffin - 26pts,10reb,3ast
Steve Nash - 23pts,2reb,10ast
Eric Gordon - 16pts,6reb,2stl
Eric Bledsoe - 12pts,3reb,4ast,2stl

Re: Focus.Energy.No Excuses - week 3. 3-7

Fri Jan 28, 2011 6:56 am

im sad about Baron leaving too

but its steve freaking nash

Re: Focus.Energy.No Excuses - week 3. 3-7

Fri Jan 28, 2011 7:04 am

Hmm...I don't know acquiring Nash is good or not. Steve is 36 years old and i think Clipps need fresh legs! And you trading out picks.. But Nash-Blake..oh boy!!

Re: Focus.Energy.No Excuses - week 3. 3-7

Fri Jan 28, 2011 7:16 am

yeah,im a big Baron fan too but I cant play him on the game.Steve is a better playmaker, thats what I need. He's also better 3pt shooter and the best pick'n'roll point guard :)

Amar'e scored 40 but they wasnt enough

Image

Despite leading throughout the whole game, the New York Knicks couldnt win this game. They lost it 108 to 105.Amar'e Stoudemire did a great job in the first minutes when Blake Griffin sit on the bench with two personal fouls. That was not Griffin's game.Blake scored his first points at the end of the 2nd quarter while Amar'e was rolling.
Eric Gordon was the key man tonight he scored 14 points in the last quarter to help the Clippers seal the win.He also made two clutch three pointers.Gordon scored career high 41 points in this game including 4 assists and 2 rebounds.
The Clippers showed no mercy from beyond the arc as they scored 14 3-pointers in this game.Six by Gordon and three by Nash only.Amar'e Stoudemire finished the game with 40points and 16 rebounds which was one of his best performances in the career so far.Steve Nash met with his former head coach Mike D'Antoni who is currently applied at New York,Nash said that D'Antoni is one of the best coaches in the game and hre really missed him in the last 2 years in Phoenix.
