DISCLAIMER: I am going to say a few things. First of all, this is on Xbox, so the courts will be the current logos. Also, the Raptors, Bobcats, and Grizzles had to be put into here. They all suck, and I will be simming the games against them (Blazer put 50 and below players on the teams)Retro jerseys will be used for all the games (Minus the Nets), and the draft class will be generated with the exception of two-three players from the real life draft.

EVER WANTED TO PLAY ON YOUR FAVORITE TEAM? EVEN BETTER, IN THE 1990s? THIS IS YOUR CHANCE!

Taking a page out of Radioman's book (credit to him), I will be placing NLSCers on teams in the 1991 season. If you are the first 7 people to send it requests, I will send you message asking for your favorite team. You will be rated in the 70's, and a back up, but hey, no contests or anything! Just signing up. The other 3 will be placed in the lottery, so its a win-win I guess. Here's the application:

Code: Select all
Name (first and last):

NBA adds five new teams

New York- The NBA has announced that it will add 5 new NBA teams for the 1989-1990 NBA season.

In addition to the previously announced Minnesota Timberwolves, and Orlando Magic, the league has also announced adding three more teams.

The league has added another team to Charlotte, with the arrival of the Charlotte Bobcats. Owner JC Fricks had this to say in the press conference, "I am excited to be apart of the ever-growing National Basketball Association, and hope to build our team up into a prime contender."

Vancouver was the next destination for the NBA. The NBA said they were deciding between a Louisiana team (possibly the New Orleans Gators) and Vancouver. The league decided expansion over money.

"New Orleans gave us more money, but we decided to bring the NBA to Canada. We hope to get an owner who can possibly fund an arena for us. Right now, the Grizzles will play at the General Motors Palace."

The last team went to Toronto, which made it 2 teams for Canada. People in Toronto stood outside the Sky Dome screaming, "WE ARE THE RAPTORS!"

New General Manager Ryan Thomas had this to say.

"I am excited to bring another team to Toronto. I am happy for Canada for having two teams. But, only one team will make the playoffs, and that will be us."

There will be no expansion draft, and each team's rosters are expected to be made up of undrafted rookies.

"Your prize is Derrick Coleman, or Gary Payton. Congratulations for entering the league a fail!" said a sign in New Orleans, where fans were rallied to see who was chosen.

Another said, "Screw you Jazz."

What the. Don't you have some active story? Make up your mind. You're probably worse than Thierry. At least his stories crash and burn before he starts his new ones.

I hope you guys know that I'm continuing the Raptors one, this is just on the side. I wouldn't ditch the Raptors. There's an update on that association.

Valdis, I replaced them with the Sonics

EDIT: READ THIS BEFORE READING THE ACTUAL RECAP.
If you see names similar like "Alex" Ajinca it's not a typo, I meant that. Don't freak out if you see similar player names.

Before I post the 3 game recap, here is how I will run the association.

It's really like dare and Martti's associations, where they play a game of the week. I will be doing the same, but expect slow updates, as my Raptors one is more of a priority than this one.

Dallas Mavericks 114 (2-0) @Los Angeles Clippers 92 (1-1)

Image

The Mavs' first road game was a success, even if it was on Halloween.

Rolando Blackman had 24 points and 13 assists, on route to leading the Mavs to a 114-92 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers and Ron Harper.

Harper, who had an unbelievable 39 points and 13 assists in a win over Golden State, was kept quiet, and had only 21 points. Danny Manning was the only player besides Harper that was actually a threat to the Mavs, with 18 points. Starting Point Guard Gary Grant had a quiet double-double, with 10 points and 11 assists.

Besides Blackman, other Mavs stepped it up as well. Ron Tarpley provided a spark off the bench, scoring 20 points, and grabbing 6 rebounds. Sam Perkins nailed two three pointers late to give the Mavs a sure win. His 16 points also helped. High-scoring machine Adrian Dantley only had 15 points, but his 7 rebounds gave many fast break opportunities, like the ones that helped Perkins nail the two threes.

Mavericks
Rolando Blackman: 24 points, 13 assists (Player of the Game)
Ron Tarpley: 20 points, 6 rebounds
Sam Perkins: 16 points, 5 rebounds

Congratulations for the nice start !

I am excited how it will be against the dominating Western Teams of that era like the Lakers, Blazers, Rockets, Suns and Jazz.
This will be very hard to make top 8 in the West (Y)
But the Clippers team isnt that bad ; Benoit Benjamin, Danny Manning, Ron Harper and this strange guy named Gary Grant

Going 3-0 against bad teams is a heck of a lot better than going 0-3 against those teams.
