Kubik, thank you ;)

Thierry •, Manu was on fire in the first three games, cooled down in g4 and 5 and reappeared when it counted.

Rta, yeah, pretty close, typical 2k11 sim engine I guess.

CHUCK, argh, too many Lakers fans around ;)

Agent420, thank you. Who really disappeared was David West. Had like 14/6 over the series ...

Dwight Howard's 32 points and 22 boards lifted the Magic over the Bucks in game7

1. Miami HeatImage (66-16) vs 8. Indiana Pacers Image (38-44) 4-2

The Indiana Pacers definitely deserved some respect this postseason as they were able to steal two wins against the “mighty” Miami Heat. Game 1 was a perfect example of underrating an opponent. Tyler Hansbrough’s 22 points and 11 boards led the Pacers to a overtime victory in Miami. The Heat bounced back though, thanks to 43 points by Dwyane Wade in game 2. The Pacers were able to steal their 2nd win though, as they won game 3 at home. Danny Granger had 28 and averaged 26 for the series. But Dwyane Wade scored 42 in game 4 and 50 in game 5 to turn around the series. LeBron James played great basketball as well averaging 26p/8r/8a over the series. He had a triple double in game 4 (20/15/10)
My pick: 4-0 Heat

Game 1: 115-112 OT Pacers
Game 2: 98-115 Heat
Game 3: 93-113 Pacers
Game 4: 105-95 Heat
Game 5: 127-101 Heat
Game 6: 102-100 OT Heat

Series MVP: D-Wade. How about 43, 42 and 50 points, 38 per game for the series.

2. Boston CelticsImage (52-30) vs 7. Philadelphia 76ersImage (42-40) 4-2

The Philadelphia 76ers were able to overcome their home game curse and won two games at home, but more important was that Evan Turner played like an All-Star in the series. Turner averaged 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists per game. He had 28 points and 13 boards in the Sixers game 3 win. Apart from that, the Sixers stood no real chance. Boston dominated every game at home and their roster was too deep. Rajon Rondo dished out 12 assists per game, Nate Robinson scored 28 off the bench in game 5 when it counted, and the big three had solid outings to beat the Sixers in six games.
My pick: 4-1 Celtics

Game 1: 97-103 Celtics
Game 2: 85-127 Celtics
Game 3: 101-110 Sixers
Game 4: 94-107 Sixers
Game 5: 101-130 Celtics
Game 6: 103-87 Celtics

Series MVP: Home games. The Cs won their home games by 20 points in average, breaking the Sixer’s necks.

3. Chicago BullsImage (48-34) vs 6. Atlanta HawksImage (44-38) 4-1

The Bulls pretty much owned the Atlanta Hawks, but the price they paid was also pretty high. Kyle Korver broke his shooting arm in game four and will be out for the Playoffs, Joakim Noah is dealing with a soar ankle from game 5 that might cause him to miss at least two or three games. Apart from that, the Bulls played great basketball. Carlos Boozer averaged 20 and 11 for the series and had 35 points, 12 boards and 7 assists in game 5. Derrick Rose added a triple-double (20-11-11) to make sure that the Hawks won’t pass the 1st round this year. Joe Johnson scored 20 points per game, 34 in game 2, but is he worth his contract? Not so sure …
My pick: 4-2 Bulls

Game 1: 82-88 Bulls
Game 2: 95-105 Bulls
Game 3: 89-90 Hawks
Game 4: 109-80 Bulls
Game 5: 97-104 Bulls

Series MVP Carlos Boozer. This guy is putting up double-double after double-double and forces the defense to collapse. Perfect for a good shooting team like Chicago.

4. Orlando MagicImage (47-35) vs 5. Milwaukee BucksImage (46-36) 4-3

What a series by the Bucks and the Magic. It took them seven games to find a winner and no team managed to win two games in a row. It was Dwight Howard’s monster performance (32 points, 22 boards and 3 blocks) that put the Magic over the Bucks in game 7. In the six games before, Howard and Bogut each had their ups&downs which led to pretty balanced games. Bogut had 15 points and 11 rebounds per game for the series, but his 1-point-5-rebounds-game-7 won’t be forgotten. Can this kid lead a team? Michael Redd played solid Playoffs as he is looking for a new contract in offseason (21 points in game 2, 19 in game 6). For the Magic, Brandon Bass was surprising in game 3 with 23 points.
My pick: 4-2 Bucks

Game 1: 79-93 Magic
Game 2: 104-94 Bucks
Game 3: 97-92 Magic
Game 4: 92-96 Bucks
Game 5: 89-119 Magic
Game 6: 79-103 Bucks
Game 7: 83-102 Magic

Series MVP: Dwight Howard averaged close to 20 points and 15 boards along with 2.4 blocks per game

That Celtics' home stat is funny, exactly how they are. Bulls look dangerous and I expect the Heat to blow out the Magic. Bulls Celtics is going to be very close. Both Boston and Chicago can compete with Miami I think, which is good. I hope Miami gets the shit beat out of them, by anybody.

███ NBA Playoffs 2nd round to start tomorrow
NEW YORK (AP)

The NBA Playoffs go into the 2nd round tomorrow and will begin with the battle of two dynasties, the Los Angeles Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs. Tip-off will be at 8 p.m. @Staples Center.

Have a look at your other 2nd round matchups below.

1. Los Angeles Lakers vs 4. San Antonio Spurs
2. Dallas Mavericks vs 3. Oklahoma City Thunder

1. Miami Heat vs 4. Orlando Magic
2. Boston Celtics vs 3. Chicago Bulls

███ Bulls to miss Noah, Korver
CHICAGO (AP)

The Chicago Bulls will miss two of their key players when they head into their matchup with the Boston Celtics tomorrow night @Boston.

Joakim Noah rolled his ankle in game 5 against the Atlanta Hawks and will miss at least three games for the Bulls, who will now have to start Carlos Boozer at C.

Kyle Korver broke his right arm in the same game and although the injury won't require surgery, the sharpshooter will be out for the postseason.

Noah averaged 9 points and 8 rebounds per game before sustaining his injury with five minutes played in game 5. Korver scored 5.5 points per game and hit every shot from beyond the arc, 6-6 for the series vs Atlanta.

███ Dwight Howard says Miami can't guard him
ORLANDO (AP)

Dwight Howard said that he does not think the Miami Heat have what it needs to guard him after being asked how he sees his role on offense vs the Heat.

"I doubt that they have anyone who can guard me", the big man said. "Ilgauskas' too slow, Bosh a joke on defense. And Joel Anthony? You gotta be kiddin'", the usually nice center trash-talked.

Howard is averaging 21.0 points and 14.6 rebounds as well as 2.4 blocks per game this postseason.

The Heat seemed engaged in Howard's trash-talking. 24 hours before tip-off @Miami, LeBron James said that he liked Howard, but it seems like it's time "to get dunked on".

The Florida clash starts tomorrow at 6 p.m.

███ Wall, Turner named co-Rookies of the year
NEW YORK

Washington Wizards rookie John Wall and Philadelphia 76ers rookie Evan Turner have been named NBA Rookies Of The Year 2011, the NBA today announced.

Wall averaged 16.9 points, 6.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game this season. He shot .439% from the field an .217% from downtown.

maksie, Howard > Bogut, although the latter is the better basketball player.

Houndy, yeah, two wins ain't too shabby.

dare, thanks. Spurs will be hard, but both had problems in the 1st round. Will be pretty close if you ask me.

Valor, injuries might kill them. Sry ;)

Agent420, the Bulls really suffer from the two injuries. Boston and Miami are my favorites for the Conference Finals.

The X, Sit's Bogut is the best Bogut you may see in a while. I think there's no Aussie left in the Playoffs (and obviously no Kiwi either), maybe next Playoffs :D

Valor, Asik and Thomas are in there, but the game really prefers to play with Boozer and Gibson in the post. I played a bit against them, and it was pretty effective. Thomas came in for Gibson then and Asik was Boozer's backup. Actually, the pick & roll of Rose and Boozer kills Shaq.

dare, honestly, my choice would have been Turner, because he plays less minutes and is more effective. The game though says, that Wall is the Rookie -> co rookie.

Nice Eastern Conferance recap. And The Heat may have some trouble with D12 trash talking. Both Wall and Turner deserve the ROY so it's good to see them share. Sucks that Cousins is second team but something is better than nothing. What are you looking to do with him?

Two rivalries turned into pure battles, with the Cs beating the Bulls and Miami down Orlando

1. Miami HeatImage (66-16) vs 4. Orlando MagicImage (47-35) 4-2

What a series between the Florida rivals. Dwight Howard said the Heat can't guard him and it pretty much happened that way in the first four games of the series. But the Heat managed the impossible and came back after being down 1-3 in the series, a feat that no team managed since the Suns beat the Lakers in the 1st round of 2006.

But things began quite well for the Heat, who won game 1 pretty clearly and more important, held Dwight Howard to 12 points and 7 rebounds. "I think we pretty much showed that we can guard him", Dwyane Wade said after the game, in which he scored 34 points. LeBron James came close to a triple-double with 24/8/10.

But the Magic came back the next game stealing one in Miami. Dwight Howard had 15 points and 16 boards this time and Rashard Lewis added a game-high 34 points, good enough to beat LeBron's 30 points and 8 assists.

This was when Dwight Howard started melting. He had 30 points and 18 boards in Orlando's first home game and an amazing 38/21 game in game 4, where the Magic burned the Heat 80-107, held LeBron to 14 points and Wade to 10.

"I let my game do the talk", Howard said afterwards.

The problem is, one guy whose game is talking is not enough. Howard missed support in game 5 and the Magic got blown out in Miami, 91-137 with Wade and James combining for 78 points.

Howard's next monstergame of 20 points and 24 boards in game 6 wasn't enough either, as the Heat won 87-74 behind Wade's 25 points and 11 rebounds.

A decisive game 7 was needed, and the Heat took advantage of their balanced line up, as Chris Bosh took over and scored 31 points to counter Vince Carter's 26 points. The Heat showed heart and that three guys who are tough defend are better than one.

Game 1: 93-104 Heat
Game 2: 112-102 Magic
Game 3: 95-102 Magic
Game 4: 80-107 Magic
Game 5: 91-137 Heat
Game 6: 87-74 Heat
Game 7: 82-89 Heat

Series MVP: LeBron James. His numbers are once again close to a triple-double in average There's nobody who can stop him, at least not on the Magic.

2. Boston CelticsImage (52-30) vs 3. Chicago BullsImage (48-34) 4-3

Another seven game series between the Bulls and the Celtics, just like two years ago when Ben Gordon was still with the Bulls. This year, Derrick Rose had great support from Carlos Boozer, but missing Joakim Noah in the first five games was pretty tough for the Bulls.

Bostons won every home game once again, but again lost every game on the road, too. Game one was a pretty defensive minded game but the complete series showed pretty much of everything, offense, defense, shooting, slashing etc.

Behind Kevin Garnett's 13 points and 17 boards, the Celtics also took game 2 at home. But the Bulls came back. Derrick Rose had a phenomenal night, scoring 38 points and Carlos Boozer added 32 to lift the Bulls in game 3, 103-107.

It was once again Boozer who proved to be too much for the Cs in game 4. He scored 33 points and added 13 boards to beat the Cs despite Rajon Rondo's 16 assists.

In game 5 though, the Celtics striked back. Rajon Rondo came close to a triple-double (9/8/10) and Nate Robinson added 21 off the bench in a clear 14 point win.

But the Bulls showed heart. With Joakim Noah back from an ankle injury, but still without Kyle Korver, the Bulls won 88-96 in game 6 thanks to 32 points by Luol Deng. Noah added 11 points and 11 boards.

"For the whole series I think, we were missing him too much. He's our defensive MVP", Tom Tibodeau said after the series.

The Cs showed experiece and balanced scoring in the decisive game 7 at Boston, beating the Bulls 106-115 and advancing to their third Conference Finals in four years. Kevin Garnett had 24 and 11 and Ray Allen added 21 points.

Game 1: 67-78 Celtics
Game 2: 83-98 Celtics
Game 3: 103-107 Bulls
Game 4: 83-110 Bulls
Game 5: 91-115 Celtics
Game 6: 88-96 Bulls
Game 7: 106-115 Celtics

Series MVP: Whilst the home games are a big factor once again, Kevin Garnett played a top-notch series. Stellar defense plus a double-double in average for the "Big Ticket".

Image

1. Los Angeles Lakers Image (59-23) vs 4. San Antonio Spurs Image (49-33) 4-2

Who thought that the Lakers were not motivated enough after the Lakers - Hornets series was proven wrong in the Lakers' series win over the Spurs.

It took Los Angeles six games to beat the heavily underrated, but again well playing Spurs. The Lakers took game 1 pretty clearly as Tim Duncan scored only 8 points and Tony Parker shot 5-15 from the field. Kobe Bryant focussed on passing the ball and had 19 points, 9 boards, 5 assists and 5 steals.

But the Spurs came back. They grabbed one at L.A. in game 2 behind 31 points by Manu Ginobili and a double-double from Tim Duncan (19/11). The series went to San Antonio.

But the Spurs were not able to gain momentum and grab a lead. It was the Lakers who showed great effort on the boards and won game three 99-95. Andrew Bynum was the game high man with 27 points.

The Spurs were able to come back once again. George Hill poured in 20 points off the bench in game 4 to counter Kobe's 23 and Pau Gasol's 20 and 10. Alonzo Gee hit three triples en route for 13 points as the Spurs won by 16 points.

As the series went back to L.A., the momentum shifted. The Lakers won by 27 points and completely knocked out the Spurs as Kobe flirted with a triple-double (18/11/9) and Pau Gasol poured in 31 points. Lamar Odom, who won the sixth man of the year award two days before the game, added 16 points and 9 boards.

The Spurs were done and lost game 6 at home despite 33 points and 11 boards by TD. Andrew Bynum had 26 points and 8 boards in the game which ended 105-102 for the Lakers.

Game 1: 94-115 Lakers
Game 2: 93-86 Spurs
Game 3: 99-95 Lakers
Game 4: 83-99 Spurs
Game 5: 98-109 Lakers
Game 6: 105-102 Lakers

Series MVP Kobe Bryant. He averaged all around numbers of 24 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists per game. Andrew Bynumwas the X-Factor. The Lakers won every game when he scored more than 20 points.

2. Dallas Mavericks Image (54-28) vs 3. Oklahoma City Thunder Image (53-29) 4-3

It took the Mavs seven games to beat the Blazers, whilst the Thunder swept the Suns in a four game series. Many thought that this, and the fact that the Mavs are way older than the Thunder could give OKC a lift.

But the Mavs just played better, had a go-to-guy in Dirk Nowitzki and plenty of depth in Caron Butler, Brandon Haywood and Jason Terry.

Dallas took the first game 85-99 with Dirk outscoring Durant 33-22. Things looked pretty sure after the Mavs also took game 2 with 12 points, especially as the Thunder's defense struggled to stop Nowitzki, who poured in 39, Caron Butler added 35.

But the Thunder came back as the series went to Oklahoma City. Russell Westbrook had an 33 point, 7 rebounds, 8 assists outburst and Kevin Durant added 31 points to counter Dirk's 26 and 13. Michael Finley had a key three pointer in the third and added 10 against his old team.

"This is were it all began, but I'm here right now and just like when I went against Dallas with the Spurs, I do everything to win", the veteran said.

In game 4 Kevin Durant scored 38 points as the Thunder tied the series. Dirk struggled with only 15 points, Jason Terry had 24.

But the Mavs proved to be too strong at home. Game 5 was a 43 point blowout with Jason Kidd having 13 points, 9 boards and 11 assists. Brendan Haywood added 18 points an 14 boards. Russell Westbrook only shot 5-22 from the floor.

Dallas finished the young Thunder in game 6 behind Dirk's 34 points and 11 rebounds.

Game 1: 85-99 Mavs
Game 2: 103-115 Mavs
Game 3: 89-108 Thunder
Game 4: 94-110 Thunder
Game 5: 82-125 Mavs
Game 6: 93-91 Mavs

Series MVP: Dirk Nowitzki came close to averaging 30 and 10 for the series. He scored +30 in the three big wins @ big D.
